I don't like plain either, but I do love Fage 0% or 2% greek yogurt. I add a tsp of honey and some berries or some almonds, and its really thick and rich, no sour taste. Very clean and tangy. |

| Actually, when you eat lots fiber, i.e. fruits and veggies, you'll go to the bathroom at least once a day, and you'll find your stool comes out easier. It should be firm, float, and a brown color. If you're having trouble (being constipated), you need more fiber: oatmeal, raisins, prunes & lots of green veggies. | |||

Veggie Curry! - check out this link from Gordon Ramsay - delicious Sweet potatoes - make sweet potato chips by peeling, slice thinly, drizzle with one tsp olive oil, salt, and bake at 350 until curled and cooked Eggplant - Slice, salt it, and let it drain for 30 mins, rinse, pat dry drizzle with one tsp olive oil and salt, roast in 400 oven for 25 mins or grill on bbq Spinach & tomatoes - frozen spinach, cherry or grape tomatoes, saute with garlic and onions, season with salt and pepper Baby Bok Choy - makes a delicious stir fry, with bok choy, garlic, cashews, sesame oil, and green onions. Start with 1 tsp olive oil, garlic, add the bok choy, green onion, cashews, stir fry till wilted and sprinkle with sesame oil. Hope this helps, they are really easy to make. One more note, try to stay away from alot of substitutes when going vegetarian in other words go for whole foods, not just replacements. For example use soy cheese to make a roasted red pepper, tomato, and mozarella (soy cheese) appetizer. But try not eat only soy corn dogs, soy burgers, etc...instead of whole foods. These are great as treats or limited quanities. |

| I say go for it! I know how it is to work 12 hour days and then come home and have to think about, ok what am I going to eat tonight? It's very easy at that point to get McDonald's or some crazy 800 calorie burrito. I usually go to Whole Foods because they have a large selection of healthy organic frozen dinners. I like Amy's, Cedarlane, Cascadian Farms, Ethnic Gourmet Foods, and Kashi. I try to keep them 450 calories and under. | |||

| I really liked this book, I found it very informative. Although the girls use swearing as an attention getting method. It really makes you stop and think, as some one who loves steak and cheese, although I'm not a vegan, I've cut back significantly on the dairy and meat products. It's converted me about 70% to whole grains, no white sugar, white flour, white rice, and buying organic as much as possible. | |||
| Weight Loss | Is there anyone out there that has over 100 lbs to loose?? Or have lost? | Sep 01 2006 16:05 (UTC) |

| Oh Gypsy....little grasshopper, if only I had a 100lbs to lose...I have to lose 155lbs....I'm currently at 315, I started at 327, and I'm trying to get to 160. Just take it one day and one pound at a time, I look at mini goals in five pound increments. And when you feel like throwing in the towel don't. Remember a small step forward is better than not moving anywhere or gaining. And most of all just keep going!!! You can do it! | |||
| Weight Loss | I Feel so defeated and disappointed in myself. | Aug 25 2006 17:27 (UTC) |

| Hi KitKat, Sounds like you are putting alot of pressure on yourself to do everything correctly and at once, and true while all things are possible with God, you have to believe in yourself also. Maybe there is something holding you back a little bit emotionally, and you might have to work through that to reach a point where you deal with it and keep moving forward. Believe me I know, I started this at 330lbs when I went to the doctor on 7/25 and I cried all the way home. (I had gotten down to 260 about two years ago) I realized either I could keep on eating the cakes, pies, cheese, bread, and sit on my behind and get bigger or work towards making my body the strongest, leanest, toned curvy machine it could be. I hate the fact that I have an extra person on me, and for me I look at it like I could stay the same and be 375 next year or I could make some small changes and be leaner and healthier. I decided that I would work out at least four times a week for 40 mins, I joined the gym. - Keep my calories between 1500-1600 and allow myself a sweet treat thats my weakness. Some days I go over and some days I'm under but since 7/27 I've lost 11lbs! I'm setting goals and prizes for myself, like at 20lbs I'll treat myself to a one hour massage. If it gets overwhelming, focus on one change, like eating whole foods and not junk. And just get moving...I know its hard, I struggle everyday, but I keep on keeping on, and I know I'll make progress. |

| I am bored also, I have so much to do, but I don't feel like doing a single thing. I'm sitting here with my office door shut hoping no one comes in, and waiting until 12:30pm so I can have my subway 6" club and then I'll wait until 330pm...so I can have my yogurt and strawberries snack. This is sad. | |||
| Motivation | After 2 months I had my first binge and I dont care!!!!!!! | Aug 23 2006 00:51 (UTC) |
|
| Congrats on your hard work!!! That is awesome. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I've found calorie-count.com, its made me more aware of what I eat and how I exercise. But today I had my binge!! I started officially on Aug 2nd at 327lbs....and today as of my last weigh in on Aug 20th, I am 316lbs...that 11lbs lost!!! YAHOO!!!!! The only problem, is today I've had a stressful crazy day, and my neighbor cooked huge t-bone steaks and brought two over, for the hubby and me. I've walked past it stuck it in the fridge and reheated it in the micro, it was delicious and then I attacked the Nutela (chocolate hazelnut) spread. I have a Smart Ones fudge cake and I've smothered it with Nutela....and now my stomach because of the binge eating is killing me. I can't believe I gave the food the power over me, and I'm working so hard daily to eat clean, have a sweet treat (portioned) every once in a while, and today I blew it! I consumed 2,170 calories, I try to consume only 1500 a day....arrgh why did I do this to myself. Well tommorrow I'm kicking the binge in the a#@ and back on the wagon for me! | |||
| Foods | I eat too many carbs! | Aug 12 2006 19:33 (UTC) |

| I love carbs too....but here's what I do in a day, when I'm trying to keep the carbs low.
Breakfast: 1/2 c. Egg Beaters & Spelt Whole Grain Tortilla with a slice of Soy Cheese...roll it up like a burrito. Pretty low on Carbs ..or you could do a cup of oatmeal w/ some raisins and one boiled egg. Snack - Celery & Peanut Butter Lunch: Tuna, Nova (Salmon) or Grilled Chicken Breast with a Spinach Salad usually I use Balsamic and some croutons...I need some bread Snack - 1 Cup Strawberries w/Splenda -- the sugar in the berries helps me avoid carbs Dinner - Chicken or Lean Pork Loin grilled with asparagus, grilled tomatoe slices (thick) and 1/2 c. of brown rice It's pretty low carb....just make sure at each meal you eat some protein and veggies |

| Thanks so much for all the help and information and encouragement. I've been doing it since July 27th, I'm going to weigh myself tommorrow morning and I'll post it on here. I just bought a scale today during lunchtime. I know its a slow process, but I just keep telling myself in January 2007, I can be smaller and healthier than I am now, or bigger and have more health problems. I'm going for smaller and healthier. But going to the gym is a major struggle, I'm getting used to it and trying to picture myself in a tankini. But I have to physche myself up for it everytime. We normally go after we both get home from work after dinner around 730pm or 8pm on M,T, Th, Fri, & Sat. I'm not a morning person and I can't do the gym in the morning. | |||
