I agree with what the others said...blend it with ice, yogurt, and some frozen berries. Yum! I take the Biggest Loser whey protein. It's great! The chocolate is so good I put it in vanilla yogurt or straight into my cereal! They also have drink mixes at only 40 calories so it's easy to drink and light on the cals. |

I agree with what everyone else is saying: Keep going! Maybe after you run that half mile, walk a half mile with a little jogging here and there. I am up to 7 miles in a row, but I still walk for a minute about 4 times just to catch my breath and regain strength. Running really helps to lose weight and to strengthen muscles! |

I also run 4 days a week and cross train twice a week and rest one day. During my cross train days, I either lift weights or bike. I do light weights with lots of reps. |

I just don't think I could eat raisins during my runs. GU is so easy--I would probably choke on anything heavier! Have you tried other flavors? The coffee flavor is good! |

| Weight Loss | choosing not to weigh.. | Jul 07 2009 01:34 (UTC) |

I go through spurts. Sometimes I will weigh myself every morning. Then I won't for like 2 weeks. It is depressing when the scale doesn't move, but it is very motivating when it does! I know what you are saying about not looking your weight. No one (even my husband) believes what I weigh--they say I look much lighter. Thanks, I think... |

RIght now I am training for a half in November. I am running (now) about 20-25 miles a week. My mileage goes up 1-2 miles a week. (I am on a 16 week training program). My trainer says not to up my calories until I'm running more around 30-40 miles a week. So, I haven't yet. But I am hungrier now that I'm on a training routine. I just make sure to eat more complex carbs and protein. I cross train 2 days a week and rest one day (but I do yoga). On the cross train days I either bike or do Jillian Michaels' workouts. Good luck! |

| Fitness | I sink like a rock. help | Jul 07 2009 01:15 (UTC) |

I taught swim lessons for a long time, and I have taught many adults to swim who also sank as well. You need to learn how to float first. Ask your swim instructor to help with this before learning the basic swiming techniques. Learning the Dead Man's Float (scary sounding but not!) will help you learn how to swim. You can also swim with a kick board. Kicking yourself across the pool burns a lot of calories. Gradually leave the kick board behind. You can do it! |

Some of my favorites are: Eminem's "Lose Yourself," Jet's "Cold Hard Bitch," Kings of Leon's "California Waiting," The Ting Ting's "That's Not My Name," Britney Spears' "Toxic" and "My Perogative" just to name a few. I also have a wide variety on my iPod...some days I am looking for beach music; some days I need hard core rap. |

I second what everyone else has said. There is nothing wrong with walking/running. I am up to about 6 miles and I have to walk after the 4th and after the 5th mile. I don't feel bad about it at all! I sip water and take some deep breaths and then I can go that extra mile. Gradually, you will become more conditioned and will be able to run further without stopping. Just keep working towards your goal. Success doesn't come overnight! You can do it! |

Are you taking any days off? Your body needs recovery time! I am training for a half marathon and my training schedule (by a professional) mandates one "rest" day. He won't let me do anything but yoga! Let your body recoup! |

| Vegetarian | Just discovered I am a pescatarian when I thought I was a veggie | Jul 01 2009 19:15 (UTC) |

I am a pescetarian, too! I stopped eating pork about 5 years ago, then I cut out red meat, then chicken. So I haven't eaten pork, red meat, or chicken for 2 years total. I stopped eating pork because of the horrid things that pig farms are doing to our environment. Then I stopped red meat and chicken because of my ethical feelings. I do eat fish occasionally. I only eat fish that my father in law caught from his dock or from the ocean. There is no factory farming involved in that. If you are having trouble getting protein, try to add more tofu, beans, and other foods with a high protein count. Do what makes you happy! If your gut tells you to not eat fish, then don't. If you want to eat fish occasionally, do it. It's your life! |

I love Jillian's workouts! I am now doing the Boost Metabloism and No More Trouble Spots (or something like that) on Exercise TV. It is tough! Really a workout. I keep track of what I do on a calendar on my fridge. I love writing down what I do each day. When I think of stopping or not working out, I think about writing my progress on my calendar. For example, when I run, if I want to stop at 4 miles, I think about how good it will feel to write 5 miles instead. I wish I could go to CA and hire Jillian to be my personal trainer! :) |

| Weight Loss | SATC movie... samantha's weight | Jun 26 2008 16:59 (UTC) |
|
| Oh Lord--- I thought the movie was great! I don't think the whole focus was on Samantha's weight gain, but on emotional eating. We have all gone through that. And yes, all the actresses are thin, but none look unhealthy. SJP has always been that thin (look back to the '80's). Realize that we all have different body types and even if I lose a ton of weight, I won't have the body shape of SJP--I have hips and thighs that aren't going anywhere! | |||
