Hi Everyone, Well - I'm trying to get back on track - haven't gained any weight - but haven't really lost either. Just came home from a WW meeting and they were mentioning their website - I like this one better!! Hope all are doing well. take care

oh no - dont look at as being "doomed" look at it as an extra challenge lol - friday I went to a dinner, saturday a potluck - -and it was not good - but I knew it was coming so i was extra careful earlier in the week - not easy thats for sure - "challenging" --- omg --- is it ever - hand in there and enjoy your camping ! hey changling- welcome back! hey those 3 pounds will come off -i know it's disheartening when you've worked so hard to get rid of them in the first place but - I was reading a few days ago - that when you move into a maintenance plan - there is a 5 pound span that is considered "normal" to maintain your weight -- so if you consider you were away and not doing your normal routine - you didn't do too bad. take care Dee

Hey Muns - np -- it's been a learning experience for me as well. Step it up a bit -- oh wow - I need to do that - I can't believe I didn't lose any - not even a .2 --- lol --- but I am thinking of buying a new scales that weighs in tenths of pounds - maybe I did lose a .2 -- but how would i ever know lol anyway - keep up the good work everyone - we are well on our way and Friday is Aug 1 -- wow!

The WW I'm attending seems really supportive and focused on eating well. Staying within the points is important but "how" is equally important. I think it's going to be good and least thats my sense of things now. I like the point system because it is derived by a combination of calories, fibre and fat and to me this is where it really comes together for me in terms of "healthy" weight loss. Two items can have the same calories but very different point values because one is healthier then the other. For me - in the long run -- its understanding all the healthier options that will keep me going.

Jcr and I were kicking around goals to be achieved by Sept 1 and Bub seemed a little interested so I offered if folks are interested in kind of co-ordinating that for us all. Are you interested? Hi folks! Well Thursday I go to my first Weight Watchers meeting. Hey Muns - I hear you about the common sense thing, and truly all of us here know "what" we are supposed to do and could probably all write a book about the things we "should" do but..... lol .... for some reason "knowing" doesn't make it happen. I've always been hesitant for many reasons on joining a group like WW but I am really wanting and needing for health reasons to get on track. Maybe it is "because of accountability, and that public weigh-in each week" that I am drawn towards it??? Who knows? ... but I'm ready to try because it's time. Time to make it happen. Hey Bub - jcr came up with that date and I liked it also. I know that this is a lifetime journey and lifestyle change but I needed to define a shorter term goal. Without that I have been "drifting" as well. So between the three of us and anyone else who wants to set a Sept 1 goal, maybe we could set up a kind of mini-challenge?? I don't know?, what do you think? I could kind of organize it if folks want that. I was in one several months ago and have an idea on how we could do it. Let me know take care Dee |

well gee jcr - do we want the same weight goal?? I'm thinking I have more to lose then you but if i make a plan and we can kind of keep each other on track with the goal of losing our respective weight losses by Sept 1. That is ten and a half weeks away and I think for my self I will increase the actual amount ... but I'm not sure as to what it should be - I will figure it out and come back with it. But I like the idea of "enclosing" it in a time frame - I think that might help me focus. hmmmm... how much???

Hey JCR -- I am of the same mindset - I'm really going to work on it and if you don't mind I will share your short term goal date of Sept 1. I like the idea of putting a date on it - and see how well I do. I've always used smaller weight loss amounts as my goal but doesn't seem to be effective lately. A shift in strategy might be in order. lol. So can I ask ?... is there a reason you chose Sept 1 ?? Do you have a specific amount in mind for that time or just as much as you can? well -- we made it through grad week - whew -- I must have been crazy volunteering to help lol -- but it was lovely and now I'm exhausted. Gee only high school and they make more of it then they did when I went to university. OH well.. like I said it was lovely. The weather here is starting to get nice - FINALLY! Had my annual checkup - only lost 4 pounds since last year - arrghhh -- but considering all the stress I've been under this past year - I feel okay about that. This next year will be significantly better. Anyway- I'm off to get some stuff done. Hope all are well. |

Yeah JCR - good for you! Emillilly - a very good question indeed! Do we really want to give up eating ? I know that as my teen sits there eating ice cream the answer would be NO lol what confuses me is I sit there - tell myself I shouldn't - I don't want it - I even think of outfits that will look better if I can stay on track - I think of how i feel yucky after I eat ice cream and then i go get myself a bowl and chow down - that's the part I don't get - I just don't understand why I can't resist ??? anybody got any ideas on how to get past this sillyness???/ all help truly appreciated |

Exercise - well I'm walking about 2 km every morning with the puppy -- and of course there's the endless chasing of him as he steals socks and underwear from the laundry - lol. When I think of where I was a little more than a year ago - I'm so pleased - at that point I was just starting to walk around again without pain - so to be able to get up ( albeit at 5 am) to walk a puppy and chase him is sheer heaven. It's raining and cold -- but I am about to go get some work done. It may be Mother's day - but if I don't do it - it doesnt get done - that's just the plain truth of it all lol Anyway - have a great day -- I plan on it - lol |

Hey Serenity - thanks for the Congrats! I'm even happier as I realized I can't do math this morning lol -- but the difference between 243 and 236 is not 6 but 7 - woohooo -- makes my day l ( and it was the easiest pound I ever lost lol) Going out now to enjoy the sunshine - yes real sunshine - finally !!!

Hi Everyone, ahh yes it's spring - finally - whew - the town up the road still got some snow this week - but we didn't - whew -- what a crazy long winter! My weight has been up and down this past year and last spring I weighed less but it was because I was on strong meds and had no appetite - it wasn't true weight loss. Anyway - I have decided to ignore that "blip" in my chart and I was happy to see that I was actually ( as of today) down a total of 6 pounds from when I started. Although that is far from what I need to lose at least it made me feel better that I was indeed heading in the right direction albeit very slowly. lol To quote loven - "I'm not making any U-Turns All those weight loss systems --- billion dollar industry. If any were easy or worked - no one would be over weight. Only the ones that help you learn how to eat properly - real food - are ones worth sinking money into. As we all have learned over the years -- it's a lifestyle change and one has to be forever. I'm still working on it - big time - but being on here with all the wonderful support from you folks - certainly does help. Thanks everyone.

Hi Everyone jcr - dont get rid of those pom-poms and why oh why are you slinking off??? Well - its a small accomplishment but maybe we should be celebrating and sharing our baby steps ( well mine are baby steps lol ) - to help each other out. What do you think?? mine for today is --- I went to a work meeting and they had cookiies and a veggie tray - i didnt touch the cookies - wooohoo -- and they are definitely one of my downfalls. I could not have done this if the veggie tray had not been there - whew. one more step in the right direction take care all |
