| My life My best friend supports me in getting healthy -- but not to the extent of kicking my ass into gear. So I've learned to mostly do this for myself...I'd like to get my confidence on my apperance/weight up :) So just thinking about the smaller me; usually gets me motivated! :) |

| If she is really your BEST friend then you should be able to sit down and talk about it. You can try printing out your post and showing it to her and explaining how you felt hurt by her way of showing support. But remember -- she is human and humans do get jealous. I am sure she didn't mean to hurt your feelings, it might have to do with some of her personal insecurties. Maybe you'll find out that she wants to get toned/lose weight too -- and then you can invite her along and make your bond even stronger :) Who knows. But you should not keep your feelings from her; if she doesn't know that it's upsetting/hurting you she will probably continue it...and then kick it up a notch. So talk to her. By the way-- you look beauitful :) |

| Calbert; I've had an emotional roller coaster a few days ago...let it go and move on <3. I hope everything is okay now stress wise and hope that flu of yours doesn't come back! Don't push yourself too hard. :) GREAT JOB dragon!!!!!!!!!!!!! *cheers* I hope the scale continues heading downhill! That sounds like such a great work out-- do you power walk with your kids? I've been doing good; just got home and I'm about to head to the gym before my Econ class (from hell). I've been doing 40 (minutes)-1 hour work outs lately -- feels soooo good to be active! And I haven't eaten emotionally since my deary recovered. Plus I started a journal to write in everytime I feel differently -- happy, sad, nervous, stressed...and it's been helping past few days. Anyone have any plans for Valintines? :) |

| Hey everyone! I'm sorry for totally disapearing for the past few days...really rough time with the deary ending up in the e.r and just ugh. I did a ton of emotional eatting this weekend but I did manage to get exercise done everyday so far! hehe. So that's a plus :D He's also doing better; so the inital stress and worry is gone. Dragon a specail thanks to you ; you really helped me out this weekend and kept me on track and focused. Thank you so much. <3 Your support was amazing. Hubby is doing well and is 100% recovered from the attack. J-fizz you did a great job not EEing for so long, don't beat yourself up over just one day. I'm sure it will be easy for you to get back on track and eat for your body and not your mind. Welcome back Caramel and lcomley!!! :) I hope you can keep up the good work Kell! We're all in this together :) by the way; ashaya thank you so much for creating this group :) Hope everyones having a stress free, emotional eattingless, exercise including wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Awesome challenege idea!!! Congrats J-FIZZ for winning last week!!!Awesome job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 30 minutes of exercise is great challenege idea, mine will probably consist of work out video or a walk/jog around campus. I never have money money on me, I always use my debt card; partially so my parents can keep track of my spending. So I'll record how much money I've saved up instead of actually setting some aside. How is everyones Fridays going? Mine is going yums! My eng paper got a 18.5/20 (Which isn't as good as my first paper of 19/20, but much better over my second one 16/20....) So I'm happy! :) Hoping for good news out of my econ and math exams too! hehe. Head's up and smile everyone! I think your all beautiful and lovly :)! Really glad to be apart of this group :) |

| Fitness | Do you judge people exercising? | Feb 08 2008 13:20 (UTC) |
|
| I kind of judge?
My work outs consist of tredmill, stairmaster, and elliptical. The bikes are in the front, next are the tredmills, then the stairmaster and then the elliptical. I just end up staring at the person in front of me. Not in a bad way...just in a way- looking at something that's moving kind of way. lol. Usually when I'm on the elliptical I stare at the runners; their form, their movement, speed, time, and ofcourse their body. I don't make judgements, I just notice. Sometime's it's inspiring. Besides the grunt/moany men in the back on the weights...I really really really really really really really really hate..... - Anyone with a cell phone...that annoys the living daylights out of me. Your on the elliptical next to me, cool, don't care...your phone rings and you start talking and laughing abnoxiously loud and then decrease your workout to not even work out status for the next half hour...and my music on at full volume can't even drown you out.....I just want to kick you. Other people could be working out. LEAVE YOUR CELL PHONE IN YOUR LOCKER! Hmph. |

| Weight Loss | Hate talking about it?! | Feb 08 2008 02:59 (UTC) |

| Besides C-C friends and forum members only my best friend knows anything about my eatting habbits, working out habbits, self estem and anything else related to my body.
I agree; I hate talking about it. My best friend is my everything, so I know she will always be honest with me and if I do something stupid she will always offer me a slap upside the head. She wants the best for me, 100% healthy, and I can say she is the only person I know {in real life} who holds absolutly no judgement or any precieved views on how I should be. She accepts everything I do, bad or good; she tries to prevent the bad though :P And I love her like crazy. Everyone else can suck it...lol. I don't feel like anyones comments are geniune or honest. Not even my parents, as sad as that is. :) |

| Everyone is so self aware and working so hard :)! Good job! I hope you guys can keep it up!
Dragon, make those chocolate covered macadamia nuts last as long as you can!!! Try putting them in ziplock bags and portioning them out? They sound sooo yummy btw! hehe Shona; don't beat yourself up!!! Self control will get easier! I hope you do well today and enjoy every bit of it! Great job j-fizz!!!!! Keep up the awesomeness! My deary is fine, which takes SOOOOOOOOOOO much stress away....the nurse lady measured his blood pressure and all that jazz and he was "Textbook perfect" on everything....How is that possible with his eatting habbits; I have no idea, unless he's been eatting healthy behind my back..lol...and the reason he went to the doctor still caused some minor concern but he got perscription and things should clear up. So I'm happy :) I had EEing twice this week so obviously I totally lost! lol. But I am learning and working very hard to stay on track! Hehe I found out that when I examined my usual analysis, my fats were waaaaay off. I think I've been (EE) binging on sweets because my body isn't getting enough fats. So I'm going to buy some avacado or peanut butter Sunday and try to add a little into my diet. Can't wait for the next challenge! I'll do better! PROMISE! <3 |

| Weight Loss | Are any of you going to reward your self when you reach your goal weight. And in what way? | Feb 05 2008 16:26 (UTC) |
23 |
| 30 pounds; mani pedi (I've never had either!)
40 pounds; gymnastic classes 45 pounds; Spa weekend I'm not sure if my goal is 135 or 140, I have to see how my body feels but the end result will be spending +/- $500 on a REALLY nice designer sun dress. Ofcourse a nice bikini too hehe! And since more than half my clothes are gym clothes anyway; rewardroble my gym clothes selection to short shorts and tight tank tops! <.< Right now its all yoga pants and baggy t shirts lol. And then just random shopping of nice blouses, designer jeans...and anything else to run up my dad's card <3 (It's his present to me losing weight! He just doesn't know it yet...lol He's always trying to make me buy nice clothes but I just go to a random department store and just buy a bunch of cheap stuff and he gets pissed off...lol.) |

| carmel; everyone deserves to get spoiled by their significant other once in a while. :)! As long as you enjoyed every single bite and had a lot of fun that's all that matters, just get back on track asap!
Hope you get plenty of rest ashaya! Most people recommend eatting a small nutritious snack after working out. How late do you normally eat? Get plenty of rest! Dragon, wow I hope the procedure goes safely and well! I'll be wishing the two of you the best. Make sure to spoil him with lots of kisses and support! i'm glad you had a fun night with your family! Eat well today! I've been stressing latly, my significant other is going to the doctor today and I'm just hoping it's nothing and a simple precription of some penicilin will fix him up. But ofcourse since he hasn't gone to the doctor yet I'm thinking of all the worst possible outcomes and how we're going to deal with it. Surprisingly I've been eatting really well latly and my stomach has been feeling full on less and less calories which is awesome! So I haven't binged nor have done any EE since Saturday! Still worried...I have class in a few hours so that will keep me away from any EEing and his apointment is right after my Econ class so we'll find out shortly after. Annnnd, I'd like to say months and months of me b-tching (sorry for the language!) at him to eat healthy might have prevented any of his now maybe-problems! But nooo, why listen to me...lol. *sigh* Still love him to death <3 I hope you guys have a fantastic day!!!!! With lots of exercise, healthy foods, and tons of smiling! :) |

| Weight Loss | Here we go... | Feb 05 2008 01:23 (UTC) |
2 |
| Heya!
Congrats on starting a new healthier lifestyle! Weight loss is easy for some, hard for others, weight gain is easy for some hard for others....everyones is different! Hehe. Good job on going down in pant size! I started (again) like you without a scale and just going by fit. But eventually I reached a point where I felt as though I wasn't sure if I was progressing so I had to buy a scale. I weigh everyday to get a good understanding of my body, and I can handle it because I know it's impossible to gain 7 pounds in one day (unless you really ate that much! Which I don't/haven't! hehe). It is just easier for me to see my progress with a scale instead of with clothes size. Drinking lots of water is a great start! If you don't eat so healthy, try to remove half the normal unhealthy meal and replace it with something healthy. Do that and keep decreasing the unhealthy and I'm sure you'll be feeding your body the proper nutrients it needs1 Ummm...control cravings; DO NOT DEPRIVE YOURSELF! If you want chocolate; have a small piece of expensive chocolate. If you cannot handle having a box of sweets in the house DO NOT BRING A BOx OF SWEETS INTO THE HOUSE! Just little things like that. Whenever you have something at home that causes you to binge, get ride of it; even if it means throwing it in the trash! Wishing you the best! Sorry for the rant lol. Procrastinating homework! hehe...btw everything is written IN MY OPINION...so nothings set in stone. hehe :) |

| ROFL at some of the responses.....
I am on a similar boat, which is probably one of the reasons why I am here. It would just be nice to be petite next to your significant other <3 It's gets really frustrating to know he cant eat junk food over and over and have the hardest time gaining weight...slightly jealous! Though I've been beggggggggggging him to eat more healthier but he just perfers junk.... At the end of part (because it is forever) lifelong journy I'm going to be mmm mmm yummy compared to him! AND TINY! ....tinnier at least!!....hehehehee |

Your very strong to have realized your problems with food and fix them. Great job on making a lifestyle change! Thanks for the inspiration! Stay strong and wonderful! :) |

| Welcome back dragoncomet00! It's good you understood you were EEing, and with a little bit of determination I bet you'll be able to stop next time <3. By the way, you said you were having crying fits, that sounds like a rollercoaster of a weekend. I hope that everything is better now and no more tears. <3 You can always share whatever happened if you think it will help. We're rooting for you!
Hey lcomley, hope your 100% over that cold. I know what it's like to eat a little of everything and then it just doesn't sit well with you at all. If your preping for a half marathon I bet you do need more calories. It's really really cold here too, and to put on comfy pants and relax with some t.v is always nice. Maybe try to snack on celery with salsa, or grapes, or carrot sticks, or something healthy for you? Calbert thats so sweet of you! I'm thinking about getting my dearest a hat (he loves football hats) for v-day. I'm sure he'll be surprised and very grateful! I hope your day goes well too! Eat healthy! -- I've been doing much better since my Feb 2nd EEing binge. Going down in weight (I was below 170 this morning!), feeling healthy, and can't wait for the gym to reopen so I can get back to jogging! I have lots of homework I've been procrastinating alllll weekend, so I'm going to get right to that. Have a great and healthy day! |

| What kind of foods are you eatting? How often do you eat? How many calories do you eat?
You need to do weight training if you want to get "bigger" and it will help decrease your body fat percentage. The only answer is get a good amount of protein and do a good amount of weight training and make sure not to have a deficit. Get all your nutrients and eat well balanced meals and you should pack on muscles. :) |

| Like some others have said; 2 hours before bed is a good rule of the thumb. I use it so I make sure not to go to bed hungry because if I am hungry I usually wont be able to fall asleep and if i do, I usually wake up feeling not-so-good and dizzy.
Make sure to get a good healthy amount of calories spread out throughout the day. I usually eat a piece of fruit or a protein bar annnd sometimes I am guitly of reaching for the sweets 2 hours before bed. I don't eat anything big before bed, usually something under 150 calories, and it's been working for me. :) |

Great job ashaya on the party last night!!! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself :) and lol on the EWL, it's like an ew gone thin...hehe. I hope you continue your good habbits today! carmel_blue; omg 6 pounds----THAT'S AMAZING!!!! Keep it up! How much more do you want to lose? I'm glad you liked my advice, we EE need to keep our heads up and treat food as food, not a friend or foe! I hope you do well today and the scale continues to tip in your favor!!!! Agreeing with ashaya about "Super Bowl Sunday"; careful with the chips! I don't care for football much, my bf will be giving me the play by play anyway lol. Don't go overboard on the chips! They add up! hehe :) |

| omg omg omg, cookies and brownies are my BIGGEST weakness!!!
Stay strong! Stay Strong! Try to be good today, and tomorrow ask him if his craving went away, if he says yes; take a cookie and a brownie out of the box put them on a plate in the kitchen. Dump the rest in the trash, throw out the trash and return to the kitchen and enjoy each one throughout the day as a treat while still staying within your caloire intake? That might motiviate you to be good! Hope you can resist binging on them :) |

| Best of luck Dragoncomet00!!! i hope you can be good for the whole weekend, we're all cheering for you! :) Hope to hear good news from you monday!
Calbert; Totally true. New Month, fresh start...but everyday is a fresh start, and so is every hour. If you mess up one minute it doesn't mean you should mess up the next minute. Don't put yourself down if you mess up once in a while, do the right thing right away! :) annnnnnnnd.................I got a surprise.....TOM TOM TOM TOM...What terrible timing! damnit, this is going to make the challenege sooo damn hard for me!!!! But I did well today, I really wanted to eat when I wasn't hungry because I felt lonely but just kept reminding myself that dinner was in an hour and it would be good-for-me-food...or as good as the cafateria food gets. hehe. I just hope I can keep away from the pop tarts and brownies this weekend! I have so much work to do for college and my boyfriend isn't going to be around at all...I'm going to feel so lonely >< Hope the other ladies are having an easy time!! :) |

| Dragoncomet00; Great job on going to the gym!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eventually your going to be breezing through 4 miles an hour with incline!! The feeling of dieing and going to hell are going to pass, and your going to have so much more energy and defently a smile on your face when you see the numbers go down. Get back to the gym soon!! :) Let us know how you do!
Calbert; You can do it! Try to remember the feeling after a binge; how you usally feel icky. Feel good, and stay strong! ashaya; I really hope your baby gets better soon. You messed be so stressed, like Dragon said I think a nice hot bath would really help you! And if you like tea that would be a good treat to calm your nerves. I hope you can bring healthy and good foods in the house, great way to substite EE eatting with veggies and lean meat instead of sweets and snacks :)! Keep it up! jjlewis305; Dragons suggestions are great. After the panicy feeling eases, light some scented candles or insence and try to meditate? Take deep breathes and concentrate on your body. Maybe after you calm yourself you can have a portion of your favorite healthy meal, eat it slowly and enjoy every bite of it. I hope your days get easer! :) |

| Totally excited for a week of EE-less eatting!! Healthy only!
This challenege is extremly important for me because I countered my binge eatting with working out (sometimes A LOT!).... But, due to terrible wind conditions the gym in my dorm was closed down because of damaged windows for the next two weeks...which means I do not have any real means of exercise; its below negative here and extremly too cold for me to run or walk. I bought some exercise DVDs but they wont be in for another 3-5 days. So to have any hope of losing ANY weight I HAVE to control my Emotional Eatting.....So fingers crossed this challenege keeps me in line. I did fantastic today!! Mostly because I took a nap right after class hehe. I hope I can keep it up for the rest of the week. Maybe this week from a break of exercise and a low (but healthy) calorie intake can help me break 170. I found that when I get the erge to emotionally eat, to FORCE myself to log the calories before they go in my mouth...ofcourse this doesnt always work...but I just find seeing the numbers add up brings back some rational thinking. Hopfully that might help some other EE's here too :) |
