I am sorry to because I should have been more clear too, I think the intentions are now clearer I hope.

I think most of us here feel some connection with him, personally my weight went out of control at the end of HS and the icing on the cake is when my grandfather past away and had a crazy schedule at the time. I finally told myself enough of this way of living, I need to stop and change.

I guess the reason I brought it up is not because all of what was said it was more to show if you need an amazing story to see this would be it. A young man that does not know what or how to do what he should do and still be able to loose 74lbs. This show you have to take in chunks you can not go on a marathon, this is the case for me.

I am not sure why they said what they said, I don't know the young man or anyone involved in the process and I don't like putting words into anyones mouth with out knowing them.

Yes I did, I just thought wow, this was perhaps to me one of the ones that has moved me the most in recent episodes, not to say all touch me, they all do but in different ways. Though this one just seemed very to bring up for this site.
Weight Loss How often should one weigh? Jan 26 2008

I personally weigh myself virtually everyday I can, I recently moved to San Jose to get closer to school and made sure I bought myself a scale. I believe it is a good thing to weigh yourself daily because you can see what your body is doing and you can see trends that way, though ultimately you have to find out what works for you best. I don't wanted to sound like weekly is a bad thing but I have herd better results and maintaining weight loss from weighing yourself daily. Best of luck. :)
Maintaining 1800 calories? Dec 21 2007

Even though I am not a perfect example, what I found myself doing is a trial to see how many calories my body actually needed to maintain my weight. Though one element I still constantly do is weigh myself everyday to see where I am at. I hope that helps and good luck. :)

Thanks for your reply, I figured it was about the bottles but want to make sure of that because it seems like some people have been saying "that's bad for the planet" without giving an explanation of why they feel this way. ;)

I personally don't get the connection why this is bad for the planet?

Anyways about getting more water, I personally don't see the problem at all, the funny part is most people don't get enough to begin with. I personally seek to get as much as possible for a healthy life and also because I have asthma.

Personally I would suggest considering at some meat into the mix and also add some more fiber. I find myself I need to grab a snack I try to gravitate towards having something with fiber. Plus if your still hungry, I can see why that doesn't seem like that many calories your getting. Also the other thing I would suggest considering what I started doing towards the end of heavy duty calorie counting is vary my calorie count by +/- 100 calories each day so that way the body doesn't get to used to the same amount. Good luck. ;)

Well I had my promotion to 4th Dan this past Saturday, it's an amazing honor to be this rank for so many reasons that I could have a good paper on it so I'll avoid talking about that.

I am currently in Tae Kwon Do and I am a 3rd Dan Black Belt and testing for my 4th Dan on September 22nd. I am also the senior student at my school, I have a lot of stuff I have to do being in that position in the school but it is also a great honor.

Hey gang, well I am back here for a while, I need to get back into gear. The past few weeks haven't been very good for me, I am creaping up and it's time to take action before it goes out of control. Today I was 182.0 but tomorrow's weigh in is probally not going to be good, I over ate. :( So it's time to get back to counting my calories and get me back down to my 178 I enjoyed maintianing so much. So I'll be watching more closely then I was. Anyways thanks for listening.

Sorry gang, I haven't been on this website for over a month.

Sparring it takes time and training to get used to, when you get to the middle point before getting to your Black Belt it becomes something that makes you think. I have actually taught every kind of class except for sparring up until recently and were just working on drills right now.

Well this week even though I ate more food than I have in weeks past because of being more hungry than weeks priror I was able to maintain at 178.0 for the week. Though tonight I have to admit I had a big wet burritto but tomorrow goes back to just watching things but not going excesive. I am still in shock I am in the 170s just because it seems so bizare because it's been since probally 7th grade since I was at this level.

I agree it doesn't take 10 years but you just really begin to just really understand why things are the way you were taught. Though by teaching you really begin to see even more so. There alot of things I can discuss with my instructor now on certian levels that I would have never probally been able to when I was a 1st Dan because I simply didn't understand everything that well time but I think with longer and higher you go the more insight you get.

Teaching wow, your a 2nd dan and you haven't taught at all? That is a rare case in many schools and in our school espcially. Anyways enough on that topic. I just meant to say is I don't compete anymore because it is not worth it to me, I do love to beef up my training for when I am about to test and also in general, it's always a positive thing.

See cheif77, I am not taking to be competing those days are over for me. I want to provide knowledge to the students I teach and also recieve new knowledge and insight in to why things the way they are. You begin to get a very keen sense by 10+ years of what logically makes sense. Yes it is built by tradition and that's what I love. Alot of my students say I should do the breaking contest in Florida but that's not why I break bricks. It is for me to learn how much focus and power I trully have. I don't need to show the world this because I know by what I have broken through boards and bricks.

I can see though why kickboxing can add an interesting level to your speed for either point or olympic sparring but that's not for me. If someone wants me to train them to get better, sure I'd do it to be of assistance, it would be brutal and crazy just like mine was when I was competing. Also sorry to say most of the males know that compete at my age group are one's in the gym for over 16+ hours and in the dojo for the part of it and then rest. I simply don't need to do that nor can I afford to right now because I am going to school.

Or if your good at cresent kicks works well in close quarters, I trained with a girl, still pretty good friends, I'd help her with forms and she would help me on sparring stuff. Now she no longer attends so I just kind of on my own/ working with the other person I'll be testing with in September.

Wow Pal-Gwe's that's what the school I attend did do up until a transition to the Taegueks and other forms back in 1999.

Well for me I am actually down to 178.0lbs as of today, so I guess I am no longer part of the 180s club, anyways I have been just watching myself and listening to my body and I have maintained since Christmas and lost another 7 since then. I have to admit my max is 175 for loosing though. I was about 225 or more at this time last year. I laugh because so of my friends in school when I saw them this semester were absolutely shocked.

Yes it can vary greatly from place to place. We had to do Taeguek Pal Jang and one other form that our Master of the orginization made up himself, it is an intense form energy wise.

For my 4th Dan testing I'll be doing Tae-Baek, Sip-Jin, and Pyongwon. Then all of the other stuff that comes with it. So how many ranks does your school have to get to black? Our school it is a series of 13 ranks including white before you test for your 1st Dan.

I used to compete too and also judge. It's an interesting thing to experience I must say but I don't really miss it all that much. Though some students ask me to help them make it to the level it needs to be at a competition I am willing to help them as much as I can, I push em really hard but that was done to me.

Chief77, so what forms to you guys do for your 1st Dan testing and for your 2nd Dan Testing? I am just wondering. I am currently a 3rd degree and acting as the senior student and well be testing for my 4th dan which was what brought me to get myself partially back into really good shape and other reasons.

I am in college too, I walk alot too, if I have time I actually walk to school in the mornings and the afternoons if not then I ride the bus. I do it that way simply because it forces me out of where food is and it makes my body realize that I am full. I know this may sound harsh but try to avoid a snack beyond 9pm, I consume alot of water if I do. So good luck.
