When I have breaks between classes I watch FoodNetwork. Best channel ever and Good Eats and Iron Chef America make me really really happy. Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee, on the other hand, makes me want to cry a little. I'm always surprised when she actually uses the oven.

Weight Loss I know this is basic-but need to know I'm not sabotaging my efforts Jan 30 2007

The number of calories that CC tells you that you need to lose weight has already accounted for the calories that you burn normally. Their suggestion is already low enough for you to lose weight. This is not making sense. Example:

If I needed 1200 calories just to keep my organs pumping and 1700 to maintain my weight with a sedentary lifestyle and I plugged my stats into CC, they would tell me that in order to lose weight I should eat 1200 calories a day. This is for regular, no work-out days. If I burned 350 calories at the gym, that would mean that instead of 1700 calories, I burned 2050 and would need to eat an extra 350 calories to maintain the same deficit that I had going with 1200consumed:1700expended

does that make any sense?
Weight Loss how long after you awake is breakfast no longer considered breakfast? Jan 30 2007

Is there absolutely no time for you to grab a lunabar or something before running out the door at five? I would think that it would be better for you to eat something first thing because you do wait so long before working out.

When you eat breakfast you are breaking your fast because breakfast is a fast break haha get it...anyway, the first thing you eat is always a breakfast because it is the first thing you've eaten since the night before.

Maybe you have to be bigger than I ever have been, but I don't really see what else boobs can do when lying on your back...

Weight Loss WHY!!! Jan 20 2007

Water weight can fluctuate a lot from day to day and hour to hour.  If you want to weigh yourself everyday, keep doing so, but remember that it isn't showing you a trend.  Try weighing yourself every day but only "counting" once a week.  You'll see a much bigger difference if you do it that way because you won't be so focused on the annoying "up" days.

I am pretty sure that unless you are eating 3500 calories more than what you are burning in your workout everyday you cannot be gaining a pound a day. If it's true, then I bet what aezell1 said is right.
Weight Loss Christmas day and all the yummy treats! What are your plans? Dec 13 2006

My problem isn't just going to be Christmas but the whole month surrounding it. I am a student at a university and I get to go home for the first time in a while and eat real food for a month and I can never will myself to log my calories because all I eat is stuff that my mom cooks and it's all so high in calories. I just have to keep telling myself that it's worth it to be totally obsessive about logging and eating right because it isn't just a weekend like Thanksgiving (and I gained 2 pounds over that weekend) and I can't go for a whole month eating poorly and not excersizing.

I totally understand melika80! That's been going through my mind for a few days now. I never ate very badly but I didn't really think about it. Now everything that passes my lips is a process. I miss the eating without planning.

Oh, and I miss my mom's cooking.

Really good cheeses and peanut butter. Not together...actually sometimes together might not be bad lol but really. My undoing is my mother's cooking with really good cheese. Going home means gaining weight -- winter, spring, and summer breaks are going to be haaaard.

I'm pretty sure that losing that much weight in such a short period of time is not very healthy or possible. You might want to reconsider your goal using some of the tools that this site offers. If you look under the Tools bar you might be able to figure out a more realistic goal.

It's harder to lose weight than it seems but it can be done over time.

Tae bo is a really great work out, I did it in p.e. in my freshman year of high school and it totally toned my arms in about two weeks...I should think about getting a video heh. You can find some average calorie-expenditures for many activities in the Tools section also.

Good luck and I hope this helped a little.

I totally have that problem and it's a little annoying. I've never been terribly athletic or anything but my calves have always been pretty muscular. I'm just learning to appreciate the beauty of a rather sculpted leg now though. Kind of annoyign when I want to wear a skirt though...

Didn't weigh yesterday.  So todays weight after a long Thanksgiving weekend: 138.1lbs  which isn't too bad.  Up two and a bit but I'll go back down.

Careful about Victoria's Secret sizing, they tend to lean a little small, I think...it might have been too big...either way, it's a little off from normal sizes.
