First of all, you probably shouldn't be taking it anymore since it was recalled- not a great idea.

But yes, I had the same experience when I tried it a few years ago! I took it at the start of a school semester and on the 1st day of school I couldn't focus in my classes, I was paranoid about things, and really emotional and anxious. It was so awful. I coudn't handle it for more than a few days so I quit.

I almost always weigh less the morning after drinking and I'm positive it's from dehydration. My stomach usually looks flatter too. But this also usually comes along with the gratuitous hangover :( Not a fair trade if you ask me.

Don't eat a full meal ahead of time, but try to not be starving when you sit down at the dinner table. Be careful of portions, but it is okay to indulge in what you like. And if you can, try to get some extra workouts in. I don't normally work out on the weekends, but I'm going to this weekend because I have big dinners Saturday, Sunday and Monday! Good luck and enjoy your holiday!

I just ordered these on Monday because they were offering free shipping. I must admit, I was skeptical, and a little worried that I may have spent a bunch of money on something that might be mediocre. But I LOVED THEM! So yummy, and when heated up reminded me a little of Krispy Kreme, definitely worth it!

I agree with cosmographer. Unless you're eating more than what you posted above, that's not enough calories for you. You definitely want to get more protein, especially if you are working out. There are some good tools on this site to help you figure out how many calories you should be eating. I bet if you upped your calorie intake you'll start losing weight.

Foods No cheese pizza? Oct 09 2008

Okay, I'm not great at math, but I am pretty good @ fractions

2/8 is the same as 3/12ths (What you ate)

1/6 is the same as 2/12ths (Serving size=300 Calories)

SO IF 2/12 is 300 calories, that would make 3/12ths 450 calories. However, you took the cheese and toppings off, so its safe to say that you consumed less than that.

Please, someone correct me if my math is wrong :)

Oh my gosh, I have this same issue with some of my friends!!! My roommate thinks she's being healthy when she goes to Jamba Juice for smoothies. At one point she was having 2 large smoothies a day...as snacks. She was horrified to learn that those 2 smoothies were adding up to 1200 calories a day. And then she refuses to eat bread, potatoes or rice after lunch because they're carbs, but she'll eat sushi covered in mayo and fried or fried chicken wings with ranch dressing...okay thats healthy (NOT)

Fitness Running MY first 5K - what was YOUR first time? UPDATE! Aug 22 2008

Hi there! I just ran my first 5K last Sunday, and it was great! I had so much fun and I can't wait to do another one! Don't worry so much about how fast you go, make sure to pace yourself. Its easy to want to go faster when other people around you are going faster, but you'll get burned out that way. Couch to 5K was a great training tool, and it really helped me get comfortable with running (I used to hate running!) Have fun, and good luck!

Stay away from anything fried (chips, hard tacos, chimichanga, rolled tacos)

I'm sure you can order something like a veggie soft taco or veggie fajitas. Make sure to ask the waiter because they dont always post everything on the menu.

If its a chain restuarant they are more likely to have veggie-options, but if its a smaller establishment they might be more willing to alter menu items for you.

Good luck, stay in control.

The Lounge Help! I have fat gnats! Jun 12 2008

I had fruit flies that lingered in swarms after the fruit was gone. I researched this problem and found a trick that worked.

  1. Make a soda bottle trap:

  2. Remove the lid and label from a clean, empty plastic two-liter soda bottle.
  • Carefully remove the upper third of the bottle by cutting along its circumference at approximately where the top of the label used to be.
  • Put an attractive liquid such as orange juice or cider vinegar in the cup-shaped part of the now-severed bottle.
  • Turn the cone upside-down and insert it into the cup-shaped bottom part of the bottle. Seal the seam at the top of the bottle with duct tape.
  • Fruit flies find their way into the bottle, but they can't get back out. After most flies are trapped inside, simply seal the bottle in a plastic shopping bag and throw out.

I agree with you about not over eating after a break up. I am a beliver in the break-up diet as I call it. When my ex and I broke up I used all that extra free time to go to the gym and eat meals prepared at home. Its been great, I am happier with my body and over him!

When I was a kid my mom would let me wait in the car for her if she was just running in to the store really quick. I was also allowed to go sit in the car if we were out at a restaurant and the adult conversation got too boring for me. (Actually, sometimes I got sent to the car if I wasn't behaving properly in public)  If someone did that now they'd probably be arrested.

I remember going to a graveyard in the country for the first time with my neighbor. I was around 6 or 7. I remember having this urge to walk across a grave (and I did it). I think I thought something supernatural would happen (it didn't).

Looking back, it reminds me of Pearl from the Scarlet Letter-dancing on graves!

I've worked with people who have done it and, let me tell you most of the food is awful. Seriously, its so processed and fake looking. Some of it wasy okay, but do you really want to eat powdered eggs? The portion sizes were ridiculously small too (which is part of the reason why you lose weight.) For example a pop-tart-like breakfast item, one tart (which was the whole serving) was the size of a playing card. I don't know about you but that would definitely not keep me full for very long.

I have a hard time keeping track on the weekends unless I plan out my food the way I do during the week. I think its so much easier to keep track during the week because I have a regular routine, but on the weekends its a free for all. Also I am on a computer all week at work and on the weekends the last thing I want to do is look at a computer!

I'll add you Caro, and maybe we can help eachother stay accountable on the weekends!!

The Lounge Going to California/LA next month, any suggestions? Apr 24 2008

I live in San Diego, and I have to argue that there are plenty of non-touristy things to do here. We have a lot of great restaurants, try La Jolla or Downtown. Hillcrest has a lot of healthy restaurants. Hillcrest is also a fun place to go to find things to do, and its filled with locals. There is also Balboa park, if you are looking to experience some culture- The Old Globe theater, museums, Japanese Friendship Garden. Check out citysearch.com and enter los angeles or san diego, and I am sure you will find a lot of great things.

The Lounge Are you Adopted? Do you know your birth parents? Apr 22 2008

I am adopted, but have never had contact with my biological parents. However, I have had a relationship with my biological mother's family throughout my entire life. I still keep in contact with my aunt and grandfather on my biological mother's side. My birth mom died when I was 17, and there is a little bit of regret that I never got to know her, but she was too unstable to be in my life at the time.

I don't really know much about my birth father, and I haven't ever had the strong desire to get to know him. My perception is that he isn't the most upstanding guy.

You are mistaken if you think that your eating disorder only affects you. I don't know you so I can not pass judgement. However, I do know that when someone has a problem like this, it does hurt others around them.

I can't imagine why they would hide food from you, unless they thought you would binge on it. Maybe they think they are being helpful. You should be upfront with them, giving them the silent treatment is passive aggressive and benefits no one.

If they are your family and they love you they wont just "let you be" if you are doing things that harm yourself.

Weight Loss dieting on a budget Mar 19 2008

Its hard to resist the 99cent menu and packets of top ramen, because they are filling, cheap and they taste pretty good. But dieting on a budget can be done.

Here are some foods that are budget and diet friendly: Canned soups, eggs, all-season fruits (apples, bananas, etc. stuff you can get all year long, they go on sale regularly too), yogurt, tuna, beans. You can also buy chicken and take the skin off yourself because skinless chicken costs more.

I also clip coupons and look for sales, that way I can get some of the more expensive items once in a while, like laughing cow cheese, string cheese, salmon, Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones (for when I am lazy!!)

Foods Smoothies Mar 18 2008

I am not really sure, but do raw eggbeaters carry the same risks as raw eggs? I don't think you are supposed to consume eggbeaters without cooking them. And I don't think most smoothies are made with milk products anyhow. You can make them with just fruit, a little juice and ice.
