I'm back at 157.6 (as of Monday) after being down to about 145 a few months ago. I was good at posting and logging, and then I apparently thought I was doing well enough to just go on by myself.... anyways...I'm back on the wagon again.... I'm participating in a "Zero-Gain" campaign with some co-workers, with a goal of not gaining any weight over the holidays- from Thanksgiving to New Years. I'm hoping to maybe drop a few pounds while I'm at it too. This just proves to me how valuable posting and logging is... makes me accountable. I can't do it alone! |

It has honestly been easier for me to lose weight since I've been on Yaz. A major problem I was having on OrthoTricyclen was emotional issues- I felt like crap always, and during my period it was HORRENDOUS- I had to leave work a number of times simply because I couldn't stop crying. Anyways, with that said, I don't get the pre- and during-period munchy attacks that I used to, and I think the better balance of horomones (for my body) helped all the systems in my body work a little better. I've been on it for almost a year, and I'm pretty happy. My doctor also mentioned that BC doesn't really make you gain weight.... its come a long way from "our mother's" birth control. I felt, however, that being on Yaz made it easier for me to maintain and lose weight. |

| Do role models have to be "famous" people or people in the media? I have plenty of real women in my life that I consider my role models.
The only time I remember having a "role model" that was someone famous was Dorothy Hamill.... and that was because I liked her haircut, and had my hair cut that way when I was a tiny tot. |

I tried the apple and berry flavors of the "Soy Joy" bars. YUCK. They might not be so bad if there wasn't this distinct burnt taste to them. Oh well... I bought them with a coupon, so at least I didn't throw away tons of money on them! I try these new things every once and a while... and a majority of things I try makes me understand why "diet" or "health" food gets a bad name! I know there are plenty of tasty things out there... but some of this stuff... come on! I don't want to feel punished for trying to lose weight! On another note, both my weight and trendline are under 150! Yippeeee |

I actually lost weight over the weekend... yay! I did choose some cruddy foods, but I kept the overall amount of crud alot lower than usual. Feeling good about it! How'd everyone else do? |

| I get this too every day when I do my brisk walk. I've always understood it to be that your circulation increases, drawing blood closer to the skin, and it causes an itching sensation. I also think that its the circulation in conjunction with my never moisturized skin and clothing rubbing against my thighs. It stops pretty much as soon as I'm done walking.... so I'm pretty sure its nothing more than that. I'm looking forward to the day when I can walk itch-free. | |||

| I'm not saying I'm doing the South Beach Diet... just that I ate, and will eat again today, a South Beach frozen entree. I count my calories and try to get some form of exercise, and that is what works for me.
DBF Is thinking about getting an elliptical machine for home. I think its a huge waste of money, but its not my money! Any suggestions on a good sturdy one for home, thats still affordable? |

| I'm trying a south beach diet meal for lunch today. They were on sale this week! Looks like they use whole grain pasta! Thats nice, seeing as every other "diet" one uses plain old while pasta and rice.
Other than that.... same old. Scale didn't do much today. I'm considering finding a place where I can keep it in the same place all the time. Right now I take it out every morning and put it in the same place- and I don't know... I moved it to about 3 different spots this morning and got 3 different weights. No room in our bathroom... there must be a spot in the kitchen I can do it. Hard surfaces are best, right? Hope I don't give the neighbors a show every morning, being that I weigh ONLY myself... no clothes!! hehe! |

| Hey everyone! Good job Tara! I wish wish wish I could kick my rear end in gear and exercise more- especially a little strength training. I did 10 pushups the other day, and I'm still sore. Thats pathetic!!!
I'm looking forward to a solid week, and working a little harder at keeping this coming weekend in check. I always seem to gain a little bit over the weekend, lose it again during the week, lose a little bit of weight during the week on top of making up for the weekend, then I gain a little over the weekend again. Its a terrible cycle I'm in, resulting in TINY amounts of weight loss! I will agree with what everyone else has commented on recently.... when your friends are eating and drinking whatever they want, its sooo easy to join in. I almost always resent my little splurges, because I know I didn't have to do it! I wanted to be at 143.8 by the end of this month, starting it at 148.8... and today I'm over 149 I think. Theres that goal shot to heck! :/ |

| Fell off the wagon yesterday, but ONLY yesterday! It was a decent weekend food-wise other than that. I really need to start exercising on the weekend. I drop weight only during the week when I'm ultra-good about calories and get in some daily exercise- and NEVER lose over the weekends, which is definitely stalling me big-time. I just need to get out the friggin pilates video or go for a walk... should be no big deal, but I just never do it!
I do, however, clean and do laundry like a mad woman on the weekends. Thats at least better than sitting on my rear for 48 hours. Right? Good Job Alizus! |

| mmmm... burritos. I agree- old habits do die hard. I totally pig out everytime I eat dinner at my parents' house, and always have dessert, even when I know I don't need it!
I think the Harry Potter movies are great. I'm not really into reading the books, but I always enjoy the movies! I totally woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, which I think is going to make for a very long, irritating day. :( |

| Good Morning!! Scale was friendly again this morning, yay! I'm at 149.6. So, for the second time, I'm under 150!
The weather has cooled off substantially, I got laundry done last night, and I have been staying on track with calories. Could it get any better? Maybe... like I could lose 15 pounds over night and reach my goal, but I'll take it. Have a great day everyone! I'm going to try.... even though I have to go to the DMV this afternoon to get a new license and register my car.... ewww. |

| I was a 36 A up until I was 21... then something just happened. They grew. Honestly. Then I started using birth control, and they grew more. I'm at a full 36C. At 20 you may be done "growing" but horomonally, you aren't. | |||

| Good job getting the exercise in everyone! I got my lunch-break walk in yesterday and monday, and plan on doing it today! We walk at a local ice arena- major air conditioning there! I haven't starting including bike rides or at-home strength training like I intended to this month... but we'll see... maybe tonight I'll sneak in a pilates video.
I can definitely relate to some of the comments- its been so hot and humid that I break a sweat walking up the stairs! At least over the past few days, even after 8 or 9 the air is still so thick! Today it looks like the heat and humidity should break a bit- maybe that will entice me to at least do laundry! I dropped 2.4 pounds of my RIDICULOUS weight gain over night. Lots of water weight apparently- which makes sense... I wasn't really drinking a whole lot of water over the weekend! Glad to see everyone's getting back on track, or staying on track! |

| OK... didn't weigh in last week... maybe I won't this week either. I know how terrible I did over the weekend and during last week, and I don't want to see the numbers! I am back on track today. I did my lunch-break walking (2 miles in 30 minutes!) and I'm eating a relatively decent lunch.
Carie- congrats! What a great feeling! Keep it up!!! I'm glad we're all here to share the joys, and when appopriate, comiserate. On another note, I was at a "beach club" yesterday.... where lovely thin (and not so thin) girls walk around in their bikinis. I had some pretty mixed feelings- jealousy being pretty predominant. On the other hand I felt like there was some slutty looking people, and that I don't know if I could ever be un-conservative enough to ever do that. And on another hand (three hands?) I felt pretty motivated... like... I can do that!!! That was a breakthrough for me, though- instead of saying "I'm fat, I've always been fat, I'll always be fat" I thought "I need to get my ass in gear! I'm going to wear a bikini someday!" |

| Holidays are tricky, girls. I was already thinking this morning of ways to keep the beer in my diet plan, but unless I work out for the next 8 hours straight, I will never be able to. I am accepting this, telling myself that I won't start drinking at noon with everyone else... limiting my margarita/mixed drink consumption, since I drink them like they're juice and they can pack SERIOUS calories.... throwing a bottle of water in there with the beer every once and a while.
We'll see. I'm not going to stress over it... just going to try a little bit harder than I would have in the past. I'll eat more veggies in place of potato salad or creamy dips and chips.... maybe only one hamburger in one sitting................. Best of luck to you all this week!!! Hang in there... we can do it!!!!!!! |

| I am totally drained today. Busy weekend and a late night last night. Because there was no diet available, I am drinking real Coke. It is utterly disgusting. | sooo yeah. After pretty decent weight loss, I'm back up to 150.8. That even after I moved the scale around on the floor a bit and weighed again. Grr. I ate Arby's last night, but it was well under my expended calories... I still had a 600 calorie deficit when all was said and done! Oh well. TTOM starts tomorrow, I'll chalk it up to that. Pledging to not weigh myself until July 1st.
Carie- but its your birthday!!! I'm sure you'll be right back on it today :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!! It looks like my DBF is going to have to be a flybaby soon, too. Friends of mine that live way out of the area want to stop by and check out my new home next week. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEk..... I've already started putting away the winter sweaters & things that were making a nice home for themselves on the bed in the guest room. I really like the concept of "setting a timer"- although I didn't actually set one this morning as I was doing some de-crapifying of the house, I just pick one or a few tasks to complete and leave it at that. | 150 on the nose this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I stood there on the scale in disbelief a little bit. I'm excited.... 140's, here I come! I think I'll probably bounce between this group and the 140/130s group- I like talking to you gals!
I met my June goal, which if I estimate correctly was probably conservative, considering that if I hadn't had the goof up, I'd probably be down 6 pounds instead of 4, but I'll take it! I realized today that I've lost over 30 pounds since I graduated from college (30 pounds over 3 years). I bet I'd really surprise my old college buddies... I look back at pictures from that time and think... what was I thinking?? I know I felt terrible about myself, but I never did anything about it. In the environment I was in, it was so much easier to just feel crappy about yourself and eat and drink it away... which made me just feel even worse. Life has gotten so much better since then!!! |

| How many calories burned for cleaning the bathroom & vacuuming when
its 83 degrees and 61% humidity in a house without a/c? I am DRENCHED in sweat!!! I know its mostly from the temperature, not the exertion, but I am twice as tired and sweaty as usual! Which leads me to this: Do you really exert yourself more when its hot out? I sure feels like it........ andra- riding lessons? How cool! I've always want to ride a horsie... if it is horses he's riding... I'm going to cool off with a sugar free popsicle... have a nice evening! |

| I've visited the flylady website a few times. Some of it seems a little extreme, but I picked up alot of pointers. Sometimes I just go nuts with cleaning and then don't really do it for a while, and some of these ideas are excellent ways to keep up on the housework. I think a gal I work with might "subscribe", she has mentioned it before, and I know another man who's wife is a flylady. It all seems to make sense, but I don't know if I"m willing to pay to learn how to keep the house up.
I find that when I'm focusing on eating well and excersizing that I actually do better and housework because I have more energy at the end of the day. But I always like tips to help me work smart, not hard! |

Don't buy that one? Ok, ok... its Amanda. Hope everyone is having a great morning. I know that doing this is probably not the best thing for me mentally, but I weigh just about every day.... and today I'm down another .4 pounds.... only .2 away from my June goal and sooo close to the 140's, weighing in at 150.4. But, thats .4 pounds in one day, so its probably a fluke.... that just doesn't seem possible that its for real. Oh well, I'll just keep on truckin' the way I have been, and hopefully its the right way. Or maybe, for once, I'm playing by the rules here and its working :) On another note, I haven't been as obsessed with weighing/measuring my food this time around, or with weight loss in general, and it has made my life so much easier... I just kind of estimate things. Maybe the fact that I'm not stressing out over it has helped the weightloss- I used to really put alot of pressure on myself, to the point where eating or cooking wasn't even fun! I've made some alterations that are making this wayyyy easier for me this time around. |
