So frustrating. Got back from my pseudo-vacation with my bf in London. I gained 1.5 while I was there, but am down a pound.

Net result = Gain of 0.5! I will need to seriously work my butt off this week and next if I want to lose 3 lbs in 2 weeks.

Hey, all. I'm in a pseudo-holiday this week, visiting my bf in the UK but working from my company's UK office.

Unfortunately, my bf does not have a weighing scale so am not sure what my current weight is. I am definitely not losing any weight this week, tho, because I am barely keeping my caloric intake under what I normally burn.

I would need 3x more motivation next week, to try and lose 2-3 lbs following labor day.

Is it even healthy to lose 3 lbs in a week?

Hey, all. A little late in posting, but I had a good week. Down 2.5 lbs from last week, but only 0.5 lbs from when I first posted.

I think I just screwed the 0.5 loss too  with dinner tonight, as I had some rice and also had some wine! Durr. :( Hopefully, can offset with exercise tomorrow. *cross fingers*

Thanks, Aimzee. Good forum topic! Happy to be here (tho quietly dreading tomorrow's weigh in because I just ate a bowl of mango slices before bed)!

Getfit, When it's TTOM, I let myself have a little bit of whatever it is I'm desperately craving (e.g. candy bar, bag of chips, high calorie fruits), or I eat a whole portion until I'm satisfied.  THEN I just offset by eating salads, grilled chicken and egg whites and such for the rest of the day.Mind you, it doesn't always work. Sometimes, I end up going above my caloric limit and just settling for not eating more than I burn that day.

The key is to not give myself grief over my cravings. By giving in to them for the time being, then offset with increased physical activity/healthier eating for the balance of the day, I don't feel too bad. If I beat myself up over one candy bar or can of soda, I end up binging even more.

Eitherway, it requires fighting through PMS (fatigue, bloating and such), but such is the burden we carry as women. :)

I recently tried drinking more water and it really eased the bloating for me. It's weird, but more water means less water retention. I think it's because your body just flushes it out instead of hoarding it.

Taking Pamprin or some such which says they ease bloating has a downside. They put in a diuretic in the meds which makes you go more often, but then it also means you get dehydrated faster. (kinda like drinking anything with caffeine)

Better off just drinking more water.

I know this group started a week ago, but would love to join in!

Am trying to lose 8 more lbs (and keep it off) by Dec 18, because am going to Australia for Xmas to meet my BF's parents and friends. (*faint*thump) And, I am trying to avoid the winter weight, since I need to be in a bathing suit in the middle of winter!

I'm 5'6" and 126 lbs, which is a comfortable weight, but want to be leaner and lighter.

I've been on CC for about 1.5 weeks now and have lost 2 lbs (before that, I lost 4 lbs outside of CC), so am on track but I feel I am plateauing. This will help kick me in the behind and really get me to the weight I want early, so that I can focus on maintaining and toning.

Weight Loss Going on holiday, great! Except... Aug 20 2008

I agree with Kajikit. Enjoy your holiday and don't worry about your calories. Just don't eat to the point of too full and try to make sure your diet is balanced (e.g. not too many carbs, veg, protein).

If you're really worried, tho, what I do before a holiday is just making mental notes of how many calories there are in things I will likely eat. (E.g. cup of rice, a tbsp of nutella, chicken broth) And, making sure I don't eat anything which has too high fat content at night. I also make sure that one of my meals is vegetable based (and I don't mean buttered corn!). It's very hard not to eat heartily at night during a holiday, so I try to keep my intake moderate during the day depending on what the planned physical activity is. I wouldn't advise cutting back on carbs, if you're planning to go on a mountain hike, for example.

Vietnamese cuisine is pretty light, except some dishes that are heavy on carbs, so just be conscious of how much rice/noodles you're having. They also are heavily influenced by the French so they make really good pastries. Enjoy some, but not too much. And then lastly, they have enough western influence there that if you wanted to just have a good ol' tossed salad, am sure you can find it, too.

HAVE FUN!

Weight Loss I Named My Weight....Is this Wacked?? Aug 13 2008

Awesome.

I'm naming my 10 stubborn pounds, Ann, who used to be the worst roommate ever. I love her, but man, she was a slob.

I don't want to live with Ann anymore. I am kicking her out.

Anywhere from 2-3 lbs. If I am eating lots of salty stuff and not drinking enough water, I can balloon up to 4-5 lbs, which makes me feel very very bloated.

I noticed that this was more pronounced ever since I started using the Pill.

Returning member here!

Started in late 2006 at 132 lbs. Dropped 16 lbs, to hit and exceed my goal weight of 118 lbs.

Left for a year due to life changes. Now, my life is a bit more settled so am ready to re-evaluate why I feel so unhealthy( which prolly means I am a tad not healthy.)

Back att CC, clocking in at 130 lbs and looking to hit 118 lbs by December (Or, preferably sooner!). Looking good so far. Lost 1.5 lbs in a month, with little change, save for being more aware about caloric intake and trying to move about more.

Looking to get back to a more acceptable level of exercise, so I don't have to stay under 1300 calories a day for much longer! I think CC works because it just makes me more self-aware. Not so much a diet, but a lifestyle change.

Good luck!
