| Hey, I totally hate the gym (I tried joining and couldn't breathe cuz it was so crowded). What I ended up doing is getting a cheap recumbent bike off craigslist and puting it in front of my TV at home (instant privacy). other things I did was I got a workout video I could use in my livingroom and a cheap yoga mat for crunchies. If that wouldn't work for you perhaps an all women's gym would be a lot better than a regular gym. |

the first step is deciding you want to lose the weight... I had to change my entire attitude toward food to even start getting a downward trend. Although I don't really eat out I can understand people pressuring food upon me. My husband's a fantastic cook and I gained 20 lbs upon getting married. just a question, would it be possible for you to pack a lunch? (even something like a granola bar could tide you over) What I find has really helped me is: 1)deciding how many calories I want to eat that day (usually the night before) 2)writing down everything I eat (and I know the calories for the things that I typically eat) that way I know how many calories I have left for the day. 3)I talked to my husband about my goals, how many calories I wanted per day (so now he asks me how many I have left and won't offer the ice cream). sometimes if your partner knows your goals he will be supportive and even catch you on the way to the fridge 4)I got a vegetable steamer (they are way cheap) though I don't love raw veggies, I can eat them cooked and they get ready fast (no work, just turn on the stove with a pot of water, you don't even need to wait for it to boil) Good luck! |

| congrats! I gave up soda years ago for lent and haven't gone back. I don't miss it at all... in fact now the thought of the fizz completely turns me off. Stay with it, it certainly gets easier the longer you go! |
