Some of your responses are cruel! I am TRYING very hard to get help. Hell, even admitting that I have an eating disorder is a huge step! I want to drink water and be healthy...That is all. I just want to know for my own peace of mind that its okay. You would never know what I'm going through because you are not me. Why would you even respond to my posts and give me the time of day if you have nothing but ill thoughts towards me and my disorder? I'm trying to educate myself...and take baby steps. Its people like you Shatki, that need help when it comes to common courtesy and respect.

Thank you so so much. I really appreciate your help. I'm going to print out the articles and keep them in my wallet. This should help me a lot when I start to think that I can get by without water!

Yes, I have an eating disorder if this is what you're asking, but I'm trying to be very healthy about it. Its time to make a change. I consume massive amounts of water (without keeping it down because I feel bloated) This is probably due to dehydration. I want to be able to drink water and keep it down, whether it has sweetener in it or not. It would just make me feel better to know that, should I choose to use the sweet n low, I'm okay. I'm taking baby steps.

I sure appreciate the help! I am very dehydrated, so for the time being, I cannot just drink a small glass of water. I MUST drink large large amounts and then get rid of it quickly, hence the reason I'm always thirsty. If I can get used to the sensation of food and/or liquid being in my belly, I'd be okay I think with your advice. Thank you so much for the information. It does make a lot of sense!:)

I have plenty of shape...you can see from my pictures posted on the sight. I'm not petite either. I dont understand why there is a problem. Hkellick, I can see what you're trying to get at, but I dont care what any MAN thinks except my husband. I dont lose or gain weight for what other people are thinking. Its all for myself. Who are YOU living for?

I'm very active, and also teach aerobics and dance several times per week. I know per the BMI it seems unhealthy, but I'm fine. I still have parts that bulge out that I'm annoyed with.

I'd like to be a part too! I'm 5'6 109.5 lbs today. That will probably change tomorrow! VERY FRUSTRATING. I have not been exercising as much as I should, but am hoping to get back on the ball this weekend. Appreciate any encouragement!

I gained 15+ pounds by having the shot DepoProvera. It was TOTALLY worth it! If you're anything like me I hate being a female when it is that time of the month, it feels like death. Depo Provera simulates pregnancy, so there will be an obvious weight gain. The thing that I loved so much about Depo is that, I didnt have a period. I didnt have any menstruel cramps or anything EVER for the full 3 years that I was on it. Its a decent tradeoff...I just think that it is important to work a little bit harder in the gym and watch for the unecessary cravings caused by certain pills and shots when you know you'll be on birth control.

Claire,

I do not appreciate your tone. Yes, I am aware that I have a problem, I'm simply asking why I way more in the morning then at night. You need not respond in the manner you did.
Weight Loss Help before its too late. Sep 15 2006

Hi There!

I too, have problem with food ALWAYS being around and not wanting to give into temptation (see yesterday's thread entitled "Carmel Apple Pie".)

I cant stand the thought of gaining weight and giving into temptation is considered failure in MY EYES. I want you to understand that this is normal. (giving into temptation, every once in awhile)

The easiest way to get over the food that is so accessible is to not taste any. (Unless of course your're seriously hungry, and not just want it because its there.) Its a lot easier to resist food if you havent tasted any, rather than allowing it to grace your taste buds and then try not to have anymore.

Remember, binging and over-eating, like alcohol, begins with the very first drink (bite). You're stronger than that!

Also, if you're hungry, or craving food that is unhealthy, maybe you can eat the contents of the food you're craving, i.e. if its a pizza, drink tomato juice, and have a bit of cheese. If you want the dough, maybe a slice of bread will help. See what I mean?

I hope this helps!

Wow you guys! I had no clue that this thread would bring in so many replies. I guess there is just so much to say on the topic. In regards to the "black"/ "African American" debate, This is something that I thought about for awhile. When you think of the word "black", it tends to have a negative connotation, its dark, its dreary, but it also represents me. I am of "African-American" decent, but I am not directly from Africa. I use the terms loosely and interchangeably.

I appreciate all the replies!:)

Thank you! While I know the proper knowledge behind food choices and nutrition, its is very difficult to exercise the proper options.

I eat food from all different cultures, my most favorite being Sushi!:) If I have a portion of this that is far beyond what I should have, its still going to contribute to my weight gain. This goes for any food.:)
