Health & Support those japanese people... Jul 19 2008

I think the answer is pretty simple.  Our cultures are very, very different and the average height of a Japanese man is about 5'5 I believe (women's must be around 5') so obviously they aren't going to eat as many calories....unless they move over to the US and get influenced by the fast food nation and go to mcdonalds  and burger king everyday.

I agree.  I don't see how someone would enjoy that movie.  I really don't know what was going on in his head??! About 70% of it made me want to throw up.  It was so disturbing that I was literally covering my eyes and shaking (especially at the shotgun scene).  I seriously wish I could rewind time and decide not to see it.  I've never had a movie effect me so much.  It was just terrible.  I'm a real big fan of his other movies and knew that I had to go see it when I saw the trailers but I'm really regretting it, this one is really making me not like him anymore.  When he makes his next movie I'm going to have to wait a week and see what other people say. So dissapointed as well.
Motivation restaurant servers? Jun 15 2008

When I worked at restaurants I would try and bring a protein bar with me to work to help hold me off until I got off work.  Or I would allow myself the house salad but skip the added cheese and used a small amount of dressing.

I wanted to be a nutritionist for a while but then found out it was the 5th hardest degree program when I was at college.  Why do nutritionists have to study biochemistry, organic chem, and have to take large amounts of useless math?!! Ugh. Frustrates me.  I think a lot of nutrionists out there are pretty ignorant and many of them (atleast the ones I've met) don't even take care of themselves.

I'd just erase her from ur memory.

The Lounge New Indiana Jones Movie- thoughts? (opening post not a plot spoiler, responses may give movie away) May 27 2008

I liked it but it was not an awesome movie.  It was a little far-fetched and not in a good way like the original movies.  All of the movies had a sort of supernatural part but this one was pushing it. The originals were more believable and had better action scenes.  The "villian" in the movie was kind of lame too, I couldn't help but laugh at her.  I also thought that the whole searching parts were too easy.  But all-in-all this movie was pretty good, not nearly as good as the originals, but still was good in my opinion.  It was nice to look at Harrison Ford and Shia Lebouf though.

Just in case you didn't know...1 can=20 calories since there are 2 servings.  I love my monster lo-carbs...I buy them in bulk at Sam's.  I'm not sure why the regular monsters get an A and the lo-carbs get a D..so strange.

500 calories is a good amount of calories to burn in a day.  If your finding yourself feeling lazy after the workout, it's normal.  That's our body's way of repairing and resting after it's been working.  But if you feel like you cannot move maybe try working out at night and see if that changes how you feel during the day.

It really depends on what you like when trying to find exercises that are fun.  THere's all sorts of different things like: spinning class, yoga, pilates, workout dvds, sports, training for 5ks, walking the dog, biking, rollerblading.  Just try different things out and you'll find something you like.

I used to live in Abilene 3 years ago and was a member at Gold's gym.  I really enjoyed their pilates and body pump type classes.  I would suggest though that you find something that you enjoy doing and do that. Switching up your routine is also a great way to keep your body guessing and enjoy yourself more.

Goodluck! you can do this!

Do not run in the heat of the day during summer!

I live in the Houston area and I went for a run yesterday around 11am.  All that humidity and heat made me feel like I was stuck in a desert with no water in sight.  Next time I'll go earlier for sure.
