Agreed... it's been years since someone first proposed this idea, and people keep bringing it up at least once a week, but nothing was ever done. |

It would, but don't count on it. They've been sitting on this suggestion since 2006. |

Oh, they'll respond if you email them about it using the contact us form, they're responsive, but I guess they're working on other features right now. I just want the basic functionality, not all the fancy gadgets, though. |

Sorry to reply so late but I've been really busy with school. But my weight's holding steady at around 229, and I'm trying my best to bike every day instead of taking teh bus or driving. Wish you all good luck with your getting back on the wagon! "You're only a failure when you stop trying, so never stop trying and you'll never be a failure!" |

See http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/740 54.html, and a lot of other posts about it. No one knows why it hasn't been added, but speculation is that it's because burn estimates are inaccurate. But if that's so, then why does anyone bother using the activity log anyway? |

Yeah, really... the max power output I can muster according to my stationary bike is 2800 cal/hour in sprints... but I could EAT that much in a minute! |

Original Post by wendysuerosko: ...and when they say 'everything,' they mean EVERYTHING... heh, you should have seen some of the things we used to see people searching for on here... (you could see them on the main page of the site before they, um, redacted some words) But seriously, folks, I try to log everything but if a piece of gum slips by, it's no biggie. But if you're like some of the people I see on here asking about whether logging half a cup of 'no-calorie' butter spray as '0' is 'right' or not... well, the FDA and their 'rounding' rule is causing a lot of wishful thinking.
But still, some things aren't going to make or break us if we make sure to have a nice calorie deficit cushion at the end of the day. I aim for 500-1000, 750 on average. |

OK... I'll bite. Stats: 28 y.o., male (if you can't tell), PA. started Sept. 2006 SW: 280 lbs CW: 225.6 lbs (I hate rounding :) GW: 180 lbs started over on my scale's weight tracking today, set it up as a new record and all. Gonna try to get back on the wagon and not have so many 'cheat days' where I binge and forget all about the future goal (but at least I log them... so I don't get a skewed analysis number at the end of the month!)... Had a big dinner last night at a restaurant... something like 1300 cals in a meal, so yesterday was a 'maintenance day'. I'm talking 'cheat days' like 5000 calories sometimes (sigh). I wish my stepmother would stop being nice by buying the family 'treats' like cookies or ice cream, or at least buying small containers so we eat them all at one sitting and there's not that big already open container sitting in the freezer calling my name... oh, Moose Tracks, you knocked me off the wagon but good last Sunday. Anyway, gonna try to keep doing this the 'right' way, with a reasonable deficit of 750-1000 per day, aerobics or biking every day, and weightlifting every 2 days... I'll keep you all posted on Friday. peace

I always get lightheaded and dizzy when I move suddenly upward after being down on the ground or leaning down for a while. It's simple orthostatic hypotension, goes away fast. Actually helps me calm down a bit and clears my head of extraneous thoughts. I'd say not to worry about it if it only happens when you return to an upright position after being on the ground, like going from child pose to mountain pose. |

K, I emailed using the contact form; I got a reply today around noon, from the member services, and said they'd look into it; got another email about 1; apparently it's a known issue and they're working on it. Nice to know someone knows about it and they're fixing it! A lot faster and more satisfying than posting on here. :) |

Original Post by coach_k: I personally always activate links. A lot of people don't. Then people try to copy and paste those links and don't understand why they don't work - due to a bug in the site's code that inserts a space. Just reporting a bug, since I once again noticed people unable to access a link in a forum message I was reading. I see this every day, and thought it would improve usability to have it fixed. |

I don't see the ad, myself - I suspect it's targeted at female users only (and yes, they do target ads based on your profile; I have Classmates.com ads targeted to my home area... unless they do that by IP).

| Calorie Count | Accuracy of the burn meter- how to find your burn amount? | Aug 04 2008 14:59 (UTC) |

Yes, I recommended a long time ago that the analysis have the net calories tracked against actual weight loss, so the burn estimate could be adjusted... but like so many suggestions, it disappeared into the ether. |
