littlefroggie  you have to use some common sense. If you didnt eat the olives feta or  oil dressing, and you mostly ate lettuce tomatoes and onion it was probably 100  cals at most.   sorry if this seems  harsh---but it doesn't  take a  brain surgeon

hey allmiiluhvx3,   just wanted to add that you are 16 so you are growing still.  most  women gain weight around 14-17;  i know  i did.  however you will also grow into  it meaning that in a few years you will grow more comfraortable with yourself.  I was so self  concious in high school when i put on weight but now i  have grown into it and am more comfortable withmyself as the years  go by.  Im 25  by   the way. so give it time---concentrate on your favorite features

ive said this many times here ..but Ill say it again.  Some people i.e. me  build muscle running--and your clothes fit tighter (pants) .  I stopped running for a few years and replaced it with hour power walks every day.  My body completely changed.   I lost fat and slimmed down my lower body.  Lately I was training for the half marathon and started running alot again.  I have noticed my pants are tighter once again.  I have done reading and maybe part of it is muscle but also your muscles retain water so they seem bigger after hard workouts.  Many marathon runner say that their weight usually goes up about 5 pounds when they are training because their muscles retain water so that they can protect and repair themselves.   A few days after the race and doing no work out their water retention goes away.  just my two cents.  I know many people say it is impossible for women to gain muscle when doing cardio alot but from my experience and many others i have read about here, running does make them bigger/pants tighter so I think it is ones body shape that you have to take into account.  I gain weight in my thighs first and lose it there last.  This means I also gain muscle their first as well.  I think just change your lifestyle by walking alot and doing lots of stretching may help you alot.  I know it is annoying to work so hard and not see results.  Good luck!

try powerwalking-- it may not burn as much as running but it definately changed my thighs from bulky to leaner

I used to run alot and then stopped and starting powerwalking instead.  I lost about 7 pounds and kept them off .   my body changed and looked leaner as well.  Just my exerience

Hey daisyg,  Im in your boat as well.  I used to just powerwalk for an hour a day but I switched to running (training for a half marathon) to give myself a goal.  Low and behold I tried on a pair of jeans today that have been loose forever and they were actually almost tight.  I am so upset right now because I have been eating the same as before and also burning more calories.  I just always build up my legs when i run- no matter how slow i go.  I am going into the police academy soon and they have you running stairs etc....My thighs are going to be bigger that my head soon lol.   I guess all you can do is take a deep breath and try to remember its muscle (even though I would prefer thinness over muscle unfortunately myself)

If you are asking if it is too much I think that you know that it is.  Your muscles will start if not already breaking down.  Beans have lots of protein, whey protein shakes are good, fish.  You  can google calorie count for a list of high protein foods

to break over exercising-- i find that this method works for me.  I make a list of to do things like errands or get togethers with friends that i don't see alot.  this way you are still accomplishing something and not sitting on your butt at home.  you don't feel the guilt of not exercising as much

They are right in a way.  if you are still eating healthy and working out it is water weight.  my only solution would be to try another low dose b.c.  I use yasmin  and have no problems with  side effects ie weight gain.  I really think its about finding the right birth control.  Also if you just started the b.c. sometimes it just takes some getting used to and then your body drops the excess water weight--this is experiences i have heard from friends

charles i get what you are saying ...but i understand what the poster means when she is upset her pants are getting tighter.  first of all you are putting in all of this effort and time and the results are not showing and you have to buy new pants---so you feel you are doing something wrong.  I would stop the cardio you do now and just power walk on the treadmill.  it is the only exercise that reduced the size of my thighs ( and i lost weight)  good luck!

that is a ton of exercise -- i would reccomend you get a jog stroller and you power walk one of the naps.  this way you will higher your heart rate.  I lost a lot of weight power walking when  i started.

i just baked the best cake ever.  I made betty crockers chocolate cake mix with just 10 oz coke and it came out more moist and delicious than any cake ive ever had.  this works with yellow and white cake mixes too.  just add 7 up instead of the coke.

i have a  3 year old   little sister so i  know  how you  feel. (  i take care of her  full time)  I always eat healthy around her and she usually wants what i have.  The only way of explaining to your son n why junk food is bad for him is maybe from pictures....you  can show positive/negative pics of eating good/bad food.  If  that is out of the question you  can have him help  you make him dinnner.   I always have my sister help me make her food and she i s more interested in eating it then.  we make peanut butter oatmeal, veggies with dipping sauce she  likes,  banana  pancakes, our own pizzas  on english muffins, use cookie cutters to cut out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  You can also  re-create his favorite mcdonalds meal by cuttinng making baked potato fries, grilling  a lean hamburger.  After she eats her dinnner i allow her a treat: usually chocolate pudding, ice  cream or whatever.  they donn't notice if it is low fat pudding or ice cream.  hope this  helps  a  little

im a spoon too.  I did notice when i did kickboxing , cycling ,and the eliptical, and faster running my legs did get bigger.  I started power walking and they slimmed down.  I am currently jogging at a 10 min mile pace for a little chance and im hoping that they don't bulk up again...what do you other spoons do?

You can google "patch and weight gain" or "the patch and review"  and see what you get.  I have taken ortho-tricyclin and yasmin and have been losing weight normally.  ask you do if he knows of people's reactions to the patch
