| Jon good for you...wow you'll be a pile of muscle in no time. :) Tabby glad you're back on track...now give me some of your motivation. Lost that 11 lbs but now I'm at a stand still. Maybe I should stay away from that scale...discourages me. Ginny don't dance to long I'm struggling to keep motivated. Oh and what board are you talking about? |

| Hey I feel like I'm talking to myself! Where is ginny, jon_smith, tabby, bigmomma, dawn???? Today was a day off for me. Had a chance to clean up around the yard a bit and in my flower gardens...getting ready for fall. Leaves have started to change all those pretty colors here. Beautiful day but I know what is coming in a few months. That bad "W" word. Hope everyone is doing ok? |

| Well so far I guess it's just you and I Kt. Others will join soon I'm sure. You and I are about the same weight. I'm 5'3" and 220 lbs right now but when I started this I was 245. Like you I am constantly losing motivation because I lose very slowly usually and I hit plateaus often. So maybe we can help each other out. What do you do for exercise. I have a treadmill, a stationary bike, a real bike, weight machine, and a gazelle...oh and one of those step thingys. You'd think I'd be skinny with all that available but no motivation. I really must start working out again. | |||

Well one of the things I'm working on is to come on here everyday so having a small group will keep me accountable I think. I am also having a hard time staying motivated though I must say I had a wonderful surprise this morning when I finally got up the nerve to step on the scale. Lost 11 lbs since August which was the last time I weighed myself. |

| Yes Ginny I'm back and this morning I'm pretty excited too. I finally got up the nerve to step on the scale. Last time I was on it in August I was so disgusted because I was back to 231 lbs. I hadn't gained it all back but it was at least half back and I was pretty discouraged. Anyways, decided that if I'm gonna do this I will eventually have to get on that scale. So I did....and.....I lost 11 lbs. I couldn't believe it. I'm pretty excited this morning. Guess I am back on track afterall. :) Dawn248- Love your quote "no one has ever had success without failure".... How true! |

| Hi everyone..ginny good to see you're still around and mabear, tabby and jon_smith. I'm sorta back but not on track. Having a really hard time getting motivated. Working more then ever now as you'll see in my journal. Hopefully I can get more time to be on here...I always was encouraged to keep going when I was regularly on this board. | |||

Hey ase_t- That's great you under the 200 mark...awesome and WTG. As for the plateau...can't help you cause I've been on one for over 6 months. Just be patient I'm told and try different things to keep your body guessing...so that's what I'm doing. I shift between 218 - 220lbs. But I'm still trying. I have a treadmill now so am hoping that will move things a little. Keep your chin up and congrads to you. :) Where is everybody? I had to look on page 4. |

Jon- Ya don't worry....sometimes I wish they were only 5 lbs...lol But I'm enjoying the weights alot. I'm finding the 50lbs are a little hard for my leg lifts though. Was hoping I'd get used to it but may have to go back down to 35 or 40 and maybe do an extra set. What do you think? My arms are ok at 50lbs though. I have a Wieder weightlifting machine which is a little different then lifting free weights. I think it's a little easier....I don't have the greatest balance so lifting free weights I'm liable to fall over backwards or something....very much the clutz I am...lol.
Imhoff- We all need lazy days some days. Good for you for going to the gym. With my Cleaning job I find it hard to exercise afterwards. I'm better to get up a little earlier and exercise before I head off to work. Gives me that extra energy I need to make it through the day. Have a great evening everyone! |

Hey jon! you're doing great. The weight is really coming off. That's so encouraging isn't it? My weights are doing super good. up to 50lbs 20reps 2 sets on my arms and 50lbs 10reps 2 sets on legs. Legs are harder for me. Did 1 mile on treadmill today. Only at 3.0mph but I was sweating so guess right now that's what I can do. Enjoying it immensely! I don't plan on it being a coat rack for me...waited for it for way to long. lol

| Hey where is everyone? Well I finally got my Treadmill. So excited. He didn't want me to pay anything either....just wants me to make him a few loaves of homemade bread. Not bad eh? so now I have a whole gym in my basement. Hope everyone is doing Great. | |||

| Back down to 220 and looks like I'm going to be staying there again..more then likely. :( Oh well at least I'm not gaining. Maybe when the spring gets here and I start working in the yard and flower garden something will come off me. Here's hoping! | |||

Hi all! I'm not doing so good. Not losing anything and getting very very discouraged. I can't do this. I've tried everything- tons of veggies, lots of water, low carbs, exercise....everything I could think of and I stay the same or I gain 6-8 lbs then go back down and it still won't budge off me. I'm tired...really tired.

| Hey everyone! I know I haven't been on in awhile. I've been around just haven't had the time (ok I'll admit it, the will) to make an entry in here. Everyone is doing so well and I'm still at a stand still so I really can't be much of an encouragement when I'm not losing any weight. Especially when I stick to it and still don't lose. Anyways, I'm lurking..lol. Imhoff- Awesome on getting your BMI down. You're doing well. Rebecca- Welcome to the club. My hubby is lighter then me but he's not tiny. He's normal for his frame and height- weighs about 180lbs. He would like to lose 10 lbs but by summer it always comes off so easy on him. Kind of frustrates me that he can lose so easily and I struggle with 1 lb a month losses. Sometimes none. You'll enjoy this group...very nice bunch. jella- keep your chin up. Drink lots of water...never forget the water. It'll come off. | |||

| Tris- I have upped my fiber too and I drink alot of water but I think I may need to up it a bit more. I was looking through my foodlog from when I first started and I realized I used to eat much more of it. Also I ate many more veggies then I do now. Sometimes it's good to look back. leo- Ya sodium kills me everytime too. Drink lots and the 2 extra lbs will come off. | |||

| A little down today. My daughter came down with her hubby for 3 days. That was awesome but now they're gone and I'm feeling low. Why is it that I get like this everytime they leave? Hate this feeling and it take a good week to get past it. Didn't eat well over the weekend...again! jella- Congrads on 11 pounds gone. Don't you love it when you see that scale moving and your clothes looser too. Good for you! Ginny glad to have you back. Don't push too hard you need recoop time. valsgoals- Don't laugh but I just figured out who you are...lol Talk about slow eh? lol. here I thought you had deserted us and you've been here all along. | I got back from work tonight to find out that I hadn't set my slow cooker right. I put it on low when it should have been high...so supper was not ready...again I had to make something fast.
vegas- I'm going to definately try your freezer cooking. But I'll have to try it next week. Every 2nd week is a slower week for me so I'll have more time next week. Great Idea. amheint- It's not that I hate Atkins I quess...it's just it hasn't worked for me and I think it is the cause of my slow metabolism. How did your cousin end up with diabetes just by doing Atkins? That's weird. I would have thought it would have helped. But I dod like your idea of higher protein one day and lower carbs etc...I'll try anything at this point..lol sononi- 6lbs....thats awesome girl. How did you do that? You must share....lol vals- good idea. I'll do the higher protein on days I work out or work hard imhoff- So that means.....you're butt shrunk....awesome. All your good habits Definately paid off eh? vegas- 5.75" gone when we lose 10 pounds...that's very motivating. WTG |

Kaufmkk- nice having you on here. You're posts make me know I'm not doing this for nothing. You've managed to lose so much and you're so positive. You're an inspiration to me. Thanks. Amheint- I'll try your suggestion about the protein. I don't have faith in the Atkins type diet...tried it a few times and each time it's been harder to get the weight off after because once you go back to eating carbs even balanced carbs and good carbs I'd gain it all back. But I know if I eat around 60 to 70 carbs I can usually lose. So I will up the protein which will also up some calories which maybe I need to do. Thanks for caring Imhoff- Keep up the good work. You're doing so well. I too am envious...lol...but very happy it's coming off for you. :) Ginny- I too miss you. Hope you're feeling good as new soon! Vk- Where are you? lyssy311- After a day like you had I'd say eating a quarter pounder and frys was needed....lol. We all have bad days. 2 year olds are soooo cute aren't they. But really, enjoy these days because they go by way too fast. Hop back on the wagon....that's right ...grab my hand I'll help you up...lol Diana- Done lots of lurking in my day too...lol. | mgm- Is it ok if I shorten it?...I hate typing numbers..heehee. So glad you decided to post. And definately be careful about the exercising for sure. Have your gall bladder out is no fun. I've had that operation. But I had it before they came out with the 3 small incisions. I was opened from under my breast to past my bellybutton so Ya .....no fun...and be careful...don't go too fast. When you do start with walking...at least you're moving. Hopefully we can be of encouragement to you here. I added you as friend too. Some days I just have time to log my food and write a little something in my journal so this way you can check it out and comment there if you like. Welcome aboard. My daughter is a great encouragement to me too. Don't know how I'd do it without her.
Leo- Don't worry about the 2 lbs. Probably just too much salt..Drink lots of water and you'll be back on track. And don't study too hard dear...and yes it is sad that you have to buy all your books, paper everything. Students pay so much for their courses so they can help society and they make it so hard on you. Chin up dear! |

| Leo sounds like you're doing lots of studying lately. Must get hard at times. ONe of the women I work for has 2 girls in college and I can't believe all the studying and assignments they have to do. What are you majoring for? Oh and find out your mom's CC account name. Joelle_ Weekends are tough for me. Went out to supper at freinds last night and went and had pie. :( Trying to be more careful today and tomorrow I definately have to smarten up and get back on track. Need to go do groceries this week and don't know when I can do it. I work everyday and nowhere near a grocery store. Lately Dad's been doing some of it on the way home from work but when I asked him to bring fresh veggies...he bought on bunch of brocolli...lol |

| Oh poor guy he must be bushed. What is his job anyway that he gets called out like that? And you have to get up at 4:15...eesh I remember having to do that when hubby was working in the bush. Now he's a mechanic and gets up at a decent hour...lol
I didn't do well yesterday and am struggling today too because of it. Too many cravings I guess. Will try and do better tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day right? |

| Luvstravelling- Those are great ideas on quick meal fixes. I'm going to try some of those for surel Oh and I buy the canned lentils. I drain them and rinse off the salt as much as I can and use it in soups and stir frys when I'm in a hurry instead of rice.
Melissa- welcome. This site has been a life saver for me and for a lot of others I'm sure. I get those venting days too and what's great is we all do sometime so don't worry about it. I try to use my slow cooker as often as I can. That way things are ready when I get home from work. |
