Weight Loss help--fell off the wagon (partially) Mar 17 2007

i understand.....i am fighting off going to work out right now, only because i am extremely tired. i worked (standing on my feet) for 15 hours yesterday..and didn't go to the gym, and today worked about 13 hours standing with 2 twenty min breaks. I know that I am not going over my calorie intake...but i just feel horrible, because for various reasons i have not had a really good workout for a whole week. i am going to get up right now and go though, before i put it off any longer
Weight Loss Media to blame for weight loss Mar 14 2007

i don't know if i blame the media for me wanting to get thinner, but i know that it probably has an unconscious effect on me. i am also at an average weight...usually 130 at 5'4, but this weekend i was with my boyfriend so i ate alot, and today the scale said 134. i was totally bummed out because i had worked hard to get to 130. anyways, to answer the question i think it does. when every magazine focuses on how to lose weight, and the tv talks about who is fat now it has an effect on us.

i have been experiencing this too...just yesterday i started upping my calories from about 1200-1300 to about 1700. i am scared though that i might not see results, but i just need to get past that. i exercise 6 days a week, stand all day at work (9-11 hours), and realized by the time i included my exercise i was operating with only like 800 calories. plus i only want to lose about 5 more lbs so i really shouldn't have a deficit of more than 500 a day, I also am not concerned quite as much with weight as being toned. we'll see how this works in the next couple weeks...
Weight Loss do you think this is true? Mar 08 2007

adapts to where you will lose muscle? i don't think so, but i think you should change the reps and do knew variations to keep your muscles trying to adapt to new things. so do different exercises, and change the amounts of reps and intensity. but i could see how it would burn less, because you are accustomed to what you are doing and don't have to work as hard.

yeah pretty much, however on the allowance, i use the moderate level, beceause i stand up all day at work, walking back and forth, and only sit down twice or once at work the whole day. then i add every other day 30 min of cardio, where i burn an extra 400-500 calories. i only have been eating like 1200-1500 cals a day though, so i was concerned maybe i was eating to little. i only have about 5 lbs to go to meet my goal, and its actually all just toning. so i guess my main question is....should i eat more?

my mom has always made something called watergate salad, but i made my own version tonite. 1/4 cup of cottage chese, a third of a package of prepared sugar free jello chopped into little pieces, and 2 tblspoons of cool whip. stir all together....simply amazing. i was just eating jello and cottage cheze before, but for only an extra 25 cals the cool whip adds something great. try it, i promis you will like it

i work at a bar-b-q resteraunt, and think that contributed to some of my weight gain. now, i always take my lunch, and always take a snack, that way i am not tempted to eat something in front of me. but i do understand. i have to be there at 5:45 in the morning, so i always eat breakfast before. always!

well i started working out really hard, like every since day for 3 weeks...then learned i needed one rest day a week. so i exercise every other day doing at least 30 min of intense cardio, and on the other non cardio days i do resistance training. also i switched my foods greatly, i eat super healthy now, started at about 1200, but didn't want to go into starvation mode with all the exercise so i upped to about 1400. I am 5'4 and now weigh 130, but started at 140 jan 1. does that help?

i had a gorge fest this weekend for one night on sat. it was simply amazing and i almost made myself sick...i worried about it forever though but finally realized that i needed to push past it and realize i had eaten 30 meals this week all following my plan, and for one i was going to allow myself what i wanted. no setbacks either. and when i think about that i used to eat like that every meal it makes me feel even better about how good i am doing now!

Foods To the PB addicts... Feb 12 2007

for all you peanut butter addicts out there...i love this stuff i got called "better-n-peanut butter" from whole foods. It is only 50 calories for a tablespoon! and less than 2.5 grams of fat. It is still made from peanuts and reminds me almost of the taste of peanut butter from a nutter butter or something. the one tablespoon can get you through a whole banana or apple. my advice: stick an actual tablespoon in the jar and eat off of that, that way you actually get the exact serving size!

i also am a frozen grape fanatic...it's much easier for them to last too. when i buy them i pick them and measure a cup out into plastic bags, stick in the freezer, and anytime i have a low cal healthy snack much like a popsicle!
Weight Loss Setbacks? Feb 08 2007
02:33 (UTC)
i have been eating healthy and maintaning a cal count o 1200-1300 cals, excercising every day, and doing really well, with a weight loss in 5 weeks of about 10 lbs. However this past weekend I went out of town, and where i was staying there was little choice of healthy eating with candy, snacks, cake, and everything i had been not eating for all five weeks. for 3 days i ate WHATEVER i wanted, but i very much regretted it each day...as well as when i came back into town and found a 4 lb weight gain. :(. however i have looked past that and problem solved so that i know what to do next time, and have gotten right back where i was with eating...5-6 times a day 1200-1300 cals as soon as i got back in town. no matter what happens just keep on keeping on, even if you have setbacks, nothing will be worse than giving up all together! good luck to you!
Foods high protein bars...what are your favorites? Feb 08 2007

i remember trying the power bar brand in the past, and not liking it very much...almost having to choke it down. i tried another flavor today of the pure protein...chocolate flavor. 170 cals, 20 grams protein 4.5 grams of fat, 0 sugar, and extremely tasty. i don't think you could beat it for the amount of calories taste and protein that are included.

thanks for the support! i am doing great and back on track this week, next time i will be sure to take plenty of low cal healthy food with me to avoid a binge again. i enjoy eating healthy, but when there is no other option, and i had already screwed up for they day, i just excused it for the rest of the day to keep eating and eating, which actually made me feel really really sick.

will eating a whole lot for 3 days make you gain weight? i have been doing so good for over a month, but this past weekend when i went out of town, the people i was with did not eat healthy, and there was so much tasty food around. when i weighed today i gained 4 lbs! and i feel horrible. did i totally ruin all the hard work that i did for 5 weeks?

i have just recently tried a bar called "pure protein" by Worldwide Sports to eat right after my workout. They are fabulous, 0 sugar, 180 cals, and 19 grams of protein. i have only tried one flavor...the smore but it was so great I couldn't wait for my workout to be over just so I could eat it haha. i would reccomend this to any one.
Fitness cardio every other day.... Feb 01 2007
21:00 (UTC)
i was doing cardio every single day for about 3 weeks, then i met with a personal trainer and he said that you should never do the same thing 2 days in a row, and give your body one day of rest each week. now i am doing cardio everyother day, and my non-cardio days doing resistance training...he say's i will see results much faster this way. i think so too.
