| I find if I deny myself completely I end up bingeing a few days later. So I suggest allowing yourself one 'something' each night. Figure it into your days calories and enjoy it. A chocolate bar and eat one lil square a night or whatever it is you think you're missing out on. In time, as you are reminded that you don't have to do without, I think you'll find the 'need' diminishes on it's own. This is a life change not a DIEit. Allow yourself to live. | |||

| Don't give up!!!!! You'll hate yourself. You've come this far and there's no sense in throwing away what you've done. So what if you're not to goal yet? You've done wonderful things for yourself with the weightloss to this point and you can do more. Take some time to just maintain, but don't go back to what you've left behind. I'm speaking from experience, was down 27# hit a plateau, maintained for several months and finally let stress win. I gained back 20#. Kicking myself every day for the weight I now need to reloose. Tie a knot in your string and hang on tight to the weight you're currently at. You'll be so glad you did. | |||

| I say no. You shouldn't feel hungry on a regular basis. And you should not eat less to the point that your body has to tell you it's hungry. Stick with the 5-6 small meals all day long. Make those calories count. If you're "stuck" try upping the exerise or mix it up. Maybe your body is used to what you're doing. Or zig -zag your calories for the same reason. As you loose, your body gets used to the new routine and sometimes you have to shake it up a bit. I hit a MAJOR (several months long) plateau. I tried all the things people suggest (zig-zag calories, more water, more exercise etc)What finally kicked my weight loss back into gear was working in the yard for 5 hours one nice day. Though I ate a ton of calories, there was no way I could even come close to my deficit. It seemed to be exactly what I needed to start loosing again. Remember also that if you're toning up, muscle will weigh more than fat so the scale may not move even though you're loosing inches. Try a tape measure. But to answer your initial question no, you don't have to feel hungry to loose weight. | |||

| At 16 you're in a pretty tough spot to have much say in family dinners. Maybe you could suggest that you're old enough to help out in the kitchen department ~ give mom a break. Then you could prepare something you feel would be more healthy. You can find lots of healthy meals online. I'd suggest you try to use foods they're used to (if it's beef every night don't jump right to tofu) I'll bet if you prepare somethings they're used to along with some different, more healthy foods in the same meal, you could slowly introduce differnt options that they'll learn they like as well as grease and soda. Good luck! It is a big task for anyone to try to convince others they might need to make a change, but especially daunting for someone your age. | |||

| Go to the home page, use the links there to learn about nutrition. Under tools you can find your expenditure and allowance based on age, height and activity level. You may find 100 to be an unrealistic weight to stay healthy. BE HONEST when you put the stats in so that you get good data to base your intake on. I'd suggest exercise to tone up, you might be surprised at how good you look now toned. Good luck on your journey. | |||

| You said it yourself. You've put your body into starvation mode. It's not gonna let go of a single ounce becuase you're not giving it nearly enough to survive on. The weight you begin to loose is gonna be muscle. You're headed for SERIOUS problems. EAT!!! Use the tools here to find out what your body needs just to survive, and go from there. There is a TON of good information here, I suggest you do your homework and EAT. | |||

| I logged 2 more pounds gone this morning! 211# officially. It's not silly at all to be hesitant to believe what you see sazzy. My plateau stated around that same time and it really took the wind out of my sails. I was sooo ready to give up many times these past five months. For whatever reason, things finally started to change this week for me. I've logged 3 pounds gone after logging nothing for a couple months. I don't ever log until the scale has said the same thing 2 days in a row. so YEAAAA SAZZY!!! SIX POUNDS GONE! You're doing great!
YEAAAAA AEROWYNAMORE!!!! Under 200 is gonna feel soooo awesome! Some day we'll all be there W/ you and sazzy. |

| *hands ice packs to mmarcin AND okiepic* Hang in there ladies the weight will go. I struggled from mid Jan to now without loosing a single pound. (oh I'd go up 3 and down 1 etc.) I think maybe it was really upping my exercise that finally kicked it, but honestly, I'm not sure. I just kept doing what I knew was right. I tried upping cal. lowering cal. more excercise, allllll the things were supposed to try. It just finally went. (good riddance!) | YEAHHHH! My scale said 213# this morning!!!!!!! I am SOOOO STOKED! I logged 214# on Feb. 7th and have been up and down 3 pounds ever since. Keep focused. Keep doing what you know is right. Mix up your food and activities as well as your deficits. It will happen. Eventually it HAS to. | |||

| Sorry to post late, but I'm not usually online on weekends. Too busy w/ life (kids and husband are home and we're outside a lot). But my Sat. weight was..... the same 215 I've been hovering around since Dec. Had a huge deficit on Sat. Then a small overage on Sun. trying to mix things up. This morning was 218 (didn't drink nearly enough water on Sun & ate out (read sodium) so that'll move tomorrow I expect). I weigh daily. Adding all as friends, will check journals often and leave encouragment. We're gonna do this people. We ARE gonna do this! | |||
