there was a pretty good article in glamour i think (a couple months ago) - the woman was able to eliminate her symptoms by controlling her carb intake. she had to keep her carbo grams really low. maybe you should get a new doctor that will take this seriously. |

Try Beano. Works for all kind of veggies and even whole grain stuff. |

I think I read that it's actually muscle tension in your neck and head that give you the headache. So maybe some neck stretches would help. |

I've bruised my ribs, and my friend actually broke one of his (slipped on ice and fell on his back). There's not really any treatment except to rest. Stop going to the gym for a while. I don't think it took very long for the pain to go away. xcetra- that sounds so painful! |

i say it's a carb/protein thing, not so much the amount of food you eat. more protein keeps me full longer. you could have some eggs or a protein bev. with your oatmeal and then you'd have fiber and protein to keep your stomach busy |

yeah i would also recommend going to a specialist or someone that does them all the time. the speculum thing doesn't hurt (i don't even feel that part really) but the pelvic exam part where they stick fingers in you and press on your abdomen isn't so fun. it only takes a min. though. it gets easier the more you do. i even had one PA looking around in there with a little flashlight. hah funny that they make you get a pap even if you're just using the BC for acne or lighter periods |

do you rest your face in your hands? my dermatologist said that heat and pressure will cause breakouts, which might also explain the acne on your bra strap area.. if you're wiping sweat off with your hands you're probably putting bacteria on those parts of your face also. if you have insurance you should go see a dermatologist to know for sure |

dude- eggs totally make people gassy. especially hard boiled for some reason. my sister hates it when her bf eats them. but i guess the whites shouldn't do that. i agree with drea99, beano is the bomb! with all that broccoli and onions i'd be killing people with my gas, hah. seriously beano works so good on veggies. |

I LOVE Beano! I use it when I go to Souplantation cause I always get a big salad with broccoli and beans and stuff. It works really well, but only for certain veggies. I think it says which ones on the box. hope that helps |

| Health & Support | going to the doctor... | Aug 07 2008 21:02 (UTC) |
|
my doctor had a standard set of blood tests they give everyone- thyroid, cholesterol, kidney function, iron level. so I didn't have to ask him specifically. he even tested me for HIV and chlamydia. I'm sure if you tell them you're in for a physical they'll run some standard set of blood tests. I did get the Gardasil vaccine when I went in for my last physical. the first shot made my arm sore for a day, but the second shot was better. (haven't received the third yet) I was totally leery of the vaccine because it's so new, but my doctor really likes it and the thought of it protecting you from cancer is amazing. not like any other vaccine. I'd recommend getting it separate from any other vaccines you may be getting, cause that freaks me out too, and I think more adverse reactions were caused that way |

| Recipes | soy milk vs. regular milk | Apr 28 2008 20:04 (UTC) |
12 |
I drink soy milk because I like the taste better. Also- I'm a little lactose intolerant. For some reason the thought of drinking cow milk grosses me out, it should be for baby cows not grown humans. You can substitute reg. milk for soy milk in recipes. I've used it to make pancakes. And I think soy milk is supposed to be good for your heart (soy has flavonoids that are good for you) |

| Vegetarian | how many grams of protein do you eat in a day? | Apr 17 2008 20:08 (UTC) |

I usually get about 30-35 grams of protein each day. Maybe 60% carbs, 20% fat, and 20% protein. |

usually when i feel like binging it's because i feel out of control and manic. if i stop and take at least 3 deep belly breaths then the feeling goes away. just try to slow down. maybe there's something that's triggering you to binge? |
