| One or two events can really throw you off. Then the pounds start to creep up so slowly, you think you have time to get back. I know how it goes. You sound very motivated. Having a partner at the gym is a great incentive. I usually go to the gym with my husband, but we can sometimes talk ourselves out of it. When I have to meet a friend there, I make sure to go. The only suggestion that I would make would be to make sure to buy lots of low cal food that you really enjoy even if it costs more than your regular food budget and make delicious meals. Also, make a list of good choices at fast food places that you can frequent for the times you can't cook. | |||

| I love them too, especially the grape flavors. I was in Cost Plus a few days ago and was really tempted to buy a couple of bags as I usually do, but instead got a couple of bottles of sugar-free torani syrups. I got the raspberry and hazelnut. I like to use the raspberry to make a raspberry vinegarette for salad. I put the hazelnut in my tea for a change of pace drink. | |||

After a full week of being sooo good, the scale never moved one iota. Then this morning it went down a pound. Made me happy. I do need feed-back. As an extra bonus, I put on a pair of jeans that were just a little bit tight and they fit comfortably today. I absolutely cannot wear tight jeans. Made my goal last week, but I'm still posting as there's still many pre-xmas pitfalls ahead. |

| Has anyone tried the fat-free half and half? I've seen it in the store but I'm not a big coffee drinker. It seems to have about 10 cals per tbsp as opposed to 20. Is anyone using it for any recipes? How does it work? | |||

| Hi All, I'm new to this forum. I'll be 57 next month. I guess I should be getting used to the new number. I've dieting now for about 2 months and c.c. has been an absolute God-send. I've been doing really well. I had one setback when I twisted my ankle and had to limit my exercising, but it's almost all better. My newest diet aid has been discovering great low-cal foods to have at home and menu items for the restaurants I like to go to. I think the food industry has improved upon their diet foods so much in recent years. Last night I had a hot dog on a slice of bread with sauerkraut for less than 100 cal. How crazy is that? I think I'll now have a sugar free suisse moche (30 cals.) Nice to meet all you 50+ dieters. |

| There's something about a favorite pair of jeans that makes you feel great. They go with everything and are comfy (if they fit) and you don't have to worry about them getty wrinkled or dirty. Jeans are also my way of measuring my weight loss other than the scale. | |||

| Yea! My bmi is 25.7 as of today. Of course, this being a new low, I'll probably fluctuate for the next week. Still, I'm getting very close to a "healthy" bmi. My sz. 12 pants are all fitting and some are actually too loose. The sz. 10's are still a little too snug. I must be between sizes. | |||

| Hi. I'm 56 years old, 5' 0.5", weigh 139 lbs. and live in Arizona. I've lost 5 lbs. since starting C.C. I have a sedentary desk job, but try to exercise several times a week. I'm trying to lose weight for my son's wedding in June 2008.
One of the things that I've found in trying to keep fit after 50 y.o. is that I'm much more injury prone. I take 2 dance classes every week and have pulled my calf muscle several times and have just recently sprained my ankle. The other part of this injury thing is that I also take much longer to heal. It's really frustrating. I'm gearing up for Thanksgiving, a company holiday party and Christmas eating. I'm planning on enjoying all the meals without feeling stuffed. I mean, it's only 3 meals right? One of the things that I tell myself when faced with temptation is that I don't have to eat something right then and there just because it's there and it's free. I can always buy myself anything that I want to eat if I must have it. The trick is that it's always a little harder to get into your car and go and buy something. |

| Weight Loss | What are your "realistic" holiday goals? | Nov 19 2007 16:05 (UTC) |

| First of all, I'm going to be extra careful the days prior to each event. Thanksgiving we'll be having turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry relish, string beans in mushrooms soup with the onion crunchies, and cranberry relish, maybe a cole slaw with some nuts and crunchies, rolls and then pies for dessert. My plan for that day is to have everything I want. I disagree with the advice to eat breakfast. I'm going to save myself for the meal which will probably be around 12 or 1pm. I'll eat everything I want, eating slowly so as to not get full. Then I'll try to save some space for the pie if it's apple and not eat much of the crust. That'll probably irritate my mother-in-law who doesn't like waste, but I'm not that crazy about pie crust so I'll leave it. If there's only pumpkin, I'll pass 'cause I'm don't like pumpkin pie. I'll also skip the wine as although it's not that many calories, I'd rather use it elsewhere. Then a few weeks later is my husband's Christmas party. It'll be a buffet at a hotel and probably have some pretty good food. Again, just one night, eat light beforehand, only eat the good stuff and dance a lot to work it off. Christmas same as above. I'm also hoping that I'll reach my mini-goal by Christmas, so I'll be so delighted that my motivation will still be strong. | |||

| I've had a really disappointing 6 days. My bmi and weight are exactly the same. I twisted my ankle pretty badly last week and so even though my calorie intake is down, I've had to try to keep off my feet. Hard to keep motivated when you're doing everything you can and the scale doesn't move one iota. | |||
