Hey there...

I was in your same position about 6 months ago and had seriously tried nearly every anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication that was out there; low doses and high doses, just all over the board.

I woke up one day and decided to flush them all down the toilet because I felt they were doing more harm than good. First of all, I wasn't feeling less depressed or less anxious.. if anything, it was worse. My memory was getting really bad and I was just a drugged up mess.

I stopped cold turkey and maybe I shouldn't have, but it worked for me. However, not everyone is built the same way and if you feel that drugs are not your answer to happiness, I'd suggest slowly weaning yourself off of them instead of just flushing them all like I did.

And anyway, at the end of the day it's your body and your mind. You've just got to do what feels right for you. Medicine or no medicine, psychiatrist or no psychiatrist, listen to yourself.

Sorry I'm a day late! There's not a scale to be found in this house--a house of guys, go figure--so I'm not going to be weighing myself for awhile until I get a chance to go visit my mommy. I did, however, get myself out to run for half an hour, yay! It was ridiculous. I'm still in pain 3 days later.

Good job, ya'll.. and happy Saturday :)

We've lost a razor scooter already? I'm impressed. As for the starting weights, I think it would be cool to go with option number 3.

And Happy Belated Birthday, Isa!! =]

Friday: same weight, no exercise. That's gonna change though.. my boyfriend's friend across the street wants to get into martial arts with him so I was thinking of guilting him into running with me.

Isa, you're freaking awesome!! :D I'm so glad you guys decided to keep doing this.. and I'm horrible with numbers so this is good, lol.

Sorry I've been away for so long. I didn't mean to keep you all hanging like that. I was sort of under the impression that no one was really into it anymore anyway, haha.

So yeah... basically I got caught in the confusion of registering and moving back to the university.. stayed there for a week and then had every single type of panic attack possible that Friday. My suitemates were all first year bitches (sorry for the language, but you know how it goes), my closest friend there had gotten a girlfriend who is really uncomfortable with me being around him.. so I sort of got shoved to the side the whole time and I predict it's going to be that way for awhile. Anyway, none of that was helping the social anxiety and add physical attacks on my body created by post-traumatic stress and you have a crazy Amanda.

That Monday I went on-campus and withdrew for the second time from the college of my dreams. It really wasn't a hard decision, though. I'm back home again and am thinking about taking a year or two off to get myself straight. I'm randomly moving in with my boyfriend in a week or two and yeah.. things are shaping up. Still have so many issues to deal with, though.

I'm really sorry I left you guys. :( My life has just been such a tornadic wreck in the past month or so.

Isa, can I be on a team? :D My current weight is 123. Thanks!!

Love and xxx and sorry and hello again and I missed a lot that sucks,
Amanda

Man, haha. Yeah, the holidays definitely had a lot to do with it. I haven't weighed myself in weeks or done anything physical. Nor have I been logging onto this site because it reminds me of how much I'm NOT doing.

So yeah :) do you guys want to reset the game completely and pretend like the holidays never happened.. ? Or just keep going from where we left off? Might have to rearrange the teams since a lot of people magically vanished.

And certainly you can join, kjmadill! :D

Wow, I didn't intend to be away for so long, my apologies. I'll update everything right now and everything can continue forth.. although depending on how many people still want to play this game, I'm thinking we should change it up a little bit.. not quite sure how yet, but I'm thinking. Generally speaking, it's really hard to keep updated and maybe every week is too often? Not sure. What do ya'll think?

Nani- I can't wait to get started either! I already started with the push-ups and my arms are screaming at me. >< I'll get started with running in less than a week and maybe I can get caught up to you. :] I want to be running at least 3-4 miles by June. Keep me updated!!

Hello ladies...

Again, I've definitely shoved calorie-counting, working out, and pretty much the healthy side of my life to the side for the holidays and now that they're over, I'm having a helluva time getting back on track.

Sorry I haven't been around to post much here. :(

BUT on the bright side, my personal trainer boyfriend and I have worked out a fantabulous plan to aid me in losing weight, toning up, and feeling all around comfortable in my own body. I'm going to post here what I plan on doing just in case any of you want to try it out (and it doesn't require a gym, yay!).

When it comes to eating, breakfast will be made of cereal and toast (perhaps with a little butter), with orange juice/milk. I'll have a snack of say a nutrigrain bar or a tiny salad. Lunch will be a smallish/mediumish sandwhich. Dinner shall be comprised of pasta type foods.

Now, when it comes to working out, this is the plan... and I'm actually excited about it instead of running away, hah.

Running: I've never ran in my life except in middle school when it was required during P.E. However, there happens to be an olympic-sized track 5 minutes from my dorms. For the first week, week and a half, I'm going to attempt to run a full lap. The next week after that, I'll be striving to run 2 laps and then run the 2 laps for two weeks. The next week, I'll start going for 3 laps and then run those 3 laps for two weeks. You need to increase the amount you're running or else will body will begin to get very little out of your running time once it gets used to a set amount.

Push-ups: I can do about 9 push-ups now but find it terribly hard to increase that amount. My boyfriend suggested that I split that number up into 3 and do a third of the amount I can do with a minute and a half breather. I should increase each third by one whenever I feel I can and continue in that fashion. So I'll be doing 3 push-ups, rest, 3 push-ups, rest, 3 push-ups--for a total of 9 push-ups. Then, when I feel I can, I'll be doing 4 push-ups, rest, 4 push-ups, rest, 4 push-ups. And so on.

Crunches: The same concept as the push-ups.

Water: At least half a gallon everyday.

So yeah. :) And we set up a reward table and everything for every goal I meet with running, push-ups, crunches, weight, and measurements. I'm really excited.. I've never had this much motivation in my life. :D

Good luck to everyone!!

I do that all of the time as well! Hmm.. I'm just always worried that the good food in the house will be gone if I don't eat my half before my brother gets it.. although it's always replenished when grocery time comes so I guess it's a matter of realizing that the bag of candy corn on the counter isn't the last one in the entire world. I can have a few pieces and should count what I'm eating, but not how many are there, haha.

Hey there :]

Well, I'm slightly younger than you ("slightly" being used loosely) but I thought I'd comment a little here at your post.. So of course you can get back to where you were, if that's your desire. It's not going to happen overnight, unfortunately, but just take one little step at a time and we all know how time flies. Calorie-counting is definitely one of many great ways to go and is a sure fire way to start you on a path to losing weight, if that's one of your goals. As for getting back into shape athletic-wise, try jumping into running or maybe picking up a pilates tape, or joining a gym if you have the funds. Lonely? Try going out to a small music venue, become a regular at a coffee shop (get the decaf/lowfat, haha), try calling up old friends and go out to lunch or dinner.. never know.

Sorry if I wasn't much help, but I thought a little something would be nice.

Cheers to holiday eating and sneaking the chocolate biscuits your brother got for Christmas. I'm so bad.. =D

Ah, late eating.. I try to stay away from eating late as well. But you're right, once a year comes seldom, eh?

Trying to lose a pound or so before I move, but I don't see much more happening. I can't get myself to work out with my insane nerves, as if it'll help if I just sit around..

Happy holidays (not quite over yet)! So I only gained 3lbs.. that ain't too shabby. Would've rather lost 3lbs, but you work with what you got. :) Only 12 days until I move into my new dorms and meet my 5 new suitemates.. I'm crossing my fingers that at least one of them runs or wouldn't mind doing pilates with me..

My aunt got me this Neutrogena face vibrator-type-thingy with cream that has that sand feel. I have these smile lines and it took them right away.. amazing. Took my breath away as well.. highly recommend it. Highly. I'll get the exact name of it from the box if anyone's interested.

And truffles that are filled with liquor.. came from my grandma.

Okay, 12 days and I'm thinkin' I can lose at least 2lbs.. eh? eh??

How are everyone else's holidays going?

I pretty much took this entire week off from exercise (as though I did it anyway, haha) and calorie-counting. Instead I gorged myself on the chocolates my mom brought home, pizza my boy took me out to, pizza my brother bought, pizza my mom bought, pizza I bought, cookies and muffins my mom and I made, quasadillas from the maker, cheap chocolate cereal, cheap chocolate yogurt, starbuck's coffee, coffee from downstairs at work, leftover halloween candy in the pumpkin man at my desk, and redvines my mom's boyfriend brought over.

Yes, one can safely assume that I gained weight.. but more disturbingly so, inches. This can't happen! I'm leaving for the university in 2 weeks! Eh..

Well, I'll be living in the same dorms as I did my freshman year and there's a running track right up the hill about 3 minutes away. I've never run in my life and never really wanted/planned to until now. I'm a small person, but I've got fat chunks and bubbles and blurges EVERYWHERE. They're not going away with walking, calorie-counting, any sort of eating disorder I'll develop, no! They're just not. Time to suck it up and run. Haha, I'll probably make it half a lap and pass out, but I figure if I keep going that half a lap, eventually I'll be able to go 3/4 of a lap.. and then a full lap.. it'll be great and the sex will be better.

Current weight: 119.5; Exercise: 1 hour (I know, I know)

It definitely has a lot to do with your geographical location. For instance, this is a rather simple example, but I live in California. The blonde, big-boobed, pancake-butt look is all the rave and at least 80% of my guy friends slobber all over themselves when it comes to these women. However, my current boyfriend hails from Texas in the south and down there it's ALL about the curves (especially when it comes to the lower regions). He can't stand the stick women and neither can any of his other Air Force buds from the south.

Actually, the other night I was complaining about my curves and he started talking about this culture/image battle going on between the south and everyone else..
