At my college we had to take at least 2 PE classes to graduate. I think that's fair. I took SCUBA and weight lifting. Weight lifting class is what got me started on my weight loss journey a year ago! |

Some GREAT movies have been listed here... I too love all zombie movies. Though I don't really find most of them scary per se. I just enjoy them :D Can't believe no one has mentioned Children of the Corn yet...that one creeped me out pretty badly because my grama lives on a farm out in the middle of nowhere. Same thing with Signs |

The problem is I can't really get motivated to do it at home. If I'm at the gym I HAVE TO work out. Also, I really can't go in the morning...Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have to be at work at 6:30, so there's NO WAY I'm going to the gym before work. In fact I don't even know if it'd be open early enough for me to do that :P |

Just got back from the gym and I can already tell I'm going to be sore. XD Oh well, it felt really good to work out. I am definitely planning on taking my gym clothes to work 3 days a week so I just go to the gym on my way home. Much easier for me to stay motivated that way. I also wanted to tell you guys...I'M DOWN TO 209.5! That means I've lost 46 pounds since January. I literally almost cried standing there on the scale. I hope to be in onederland by the new year! Time for my shower, be back later maybe :D |

Hi girlies! I'm sorry I've been MIA. My schedule is killing me. Well...actually, I am really enjoying being this busy. I just have no time to lounge around anymore! I haven't been to the gym in like a month and a half...I feel bad. I'm going to try and start FORCING myself to go. Maybe I'll bring my gym clothes with me to work today and stop at the gym on my way home...that way I HAVE TO go. :P I'm just worried that when I go back I'll have to start all over with new rules of lifting...I'm going to try and pick up where I left off and see how I feel I suppose. I'm also really curious to get on the scale, because I feel much smaller than I did the last time I weighed myself. (I've lost about an inch from my waist and at least half an inch in my hips, finally down a jeans size!) I'm thinking about asking the BF for EA Active for Christmas. That way I can work out at home. The biggest hurdle to me going to the gym right now is that once I get home, I really don't feel like going out again. I have such long days...(gone at least 12 hours most days!) Do any of you have EA Active? If so, do you like it? I hope you're all doing well and staying healthy. <3 |

I work at a lab where we do testing for H1N1 so let me give you some advice. Getting tested for it is POINTLESS at this stage. It does NOT change the way the flu is treated. Who cares what kind of flu you have? You treat it the same way: fluids, rest, ibuprofen. As kriklaf said, testing is soon going to stop. We're completely overwhelmed with samples. No more testing at our facility (as of the 23rd I believe) unless the patient is hospitalized with life-threatening complications. Secondly: IT'S THE FLU. STOP FREAKING OUT. An otherwise healthy person is not going to get the flu and drop dead the next day. You feel like crap for a week or so and then you're fine. They're predicting less deaths from this type of flu than occur EVERY YEAR for the "regular flu." Sorry if I seemed snarky, but I am REALLY sick of everyone panicking about this. I am on the phone half the day with people answering questions about it. |

Welcome back mladdy! embalmer: that sounds terrible...I hate bees! I hope you feel better soon. I'm excited because today I'm dragging the bf to the pumpkin farm. He doesn't seem nearly as excited about it as I am, but this is something I used to do with my mom every fall...something I haven't done in a couple years, so I'm really excited. It's supposed to be COLD today though, bummer. Oh well, guess I'll just have to put some layers on :) I'm going to need to take some pictures soon girls. I just measured my waist and it's gone down almost 2 inches since the last time I took pictures! I got a smexy new coat on Thursday from the plus size consignment shop, so I'll have to get some pictures in that too. |

dalma: get a second or third opinion. Doctors SHOULD care if you're having your period like this. If they don't care, it's a sign that you need a new doctor. ally: I wouldn't worry too much about your weight. Try to record it in the morning instead before you've worked out or whatever and I bet it will be more accurate. :) And congrats on your boyfriend going to the gym with you! I think that's just great. ^_^ I'm trying to get mine to eat healthy and exercise with me, but it's a struggle because he wants to do it "his" way. -_- akela: Beer IS stupid. That's why I don't like to weigh myself on Mondays. If I have even one drink on the weekend my body retains water like a mofo shapie: I think grama is doing alright. I haven't heard anything otherwise. Thanks for asking, means a lot. I need to give her a call one of these days. It's just kinda a pain to do because she doesn't have a phone in her room, and they bring her down to the office to use that phone. Well girls, I need to get changed and get ready to go to my other job, so have a great day everybody! |

Thanks for the kind words about my grama girls. I'm just trying to stay positive about the whole thing and hope that she'll be able to turn herself around. dalma: sorry to hear about Jay being a d-bag. :( At least you have the guts to admit when it needs to be over. With my ex, it took me over a year to realize that fact. Sometimes you just need to move on and start fresh. We're here for ya! ally: I need to pick up a scale too. I just can't seem to get myself to the gym lately! I'm really going to try tonight and hopefully I'll get some idea of what I weigh. I hate weighing myself at night though, it's not really that accurate. |

Hi girls, I'm really sorry I've been MIA. This work/school schedule has me totally worn out. I'm doing really well with calories, but I haven't been able to work out...like at all. I brought home some magazine pages from the break room at work yesterday about a ballet style workout (it's only like 5 moves, but very challenging) so I hope to try that soon. Also, last weekend my grama was in the ER. :( She's been getting dizzy spells for a couple years now, but she had a really bad one while my mom was with her last Friday and was throwing up/low blood pressure. So I drove up there at 10 at night thinking she was dying...Good news/bad news is there's nothing medically wrong that they can fix. The doctor says that if she doesn't start gaining weight she'll probably pass away in 6 months or so. :( He also had to tell her that she can't ever go home and will need to stay in a nursing home. She's having a really hard time with that because she's very independent. So yeah, last weekend was really rough. Since I don't talk to my dad (long story) my grama is my other parent. I just couldn't handle losing her. Sorry for the rambling, I need to go get ready for my other job. Bye guys! |

Get a second opinion. I'm not a doctor, but your symptoms do not sound normal or bearable and you deserve to know what's going on. Don't stop until you get some answers and try to find someone who will try to treat your symptoms as a whole, not individually. |

Thanks for all the info akela! I love omlettes. My only problem is that I have to get up sooo early already for work and making a huge breakfast would mean I'd have to get up even earlier...If I need to be somewhere quick, I like making 2 servings of oatmeal mixed with protein powder and some fruit...or 2 slices of toast with crunchy peanut butter and fruit. I'm all brain dead because I had a physics quiz tonight...so I'll be watching some venture brothers then going to bed. <3 |

You can also try calling the pharmacist. They usually have really good advice about side effects of medications or how to take them to avoid said side effects |

sharing challenge: I definitely eat for comfort when I'm sad/angry/bored/stressed. I also find that I go more for "bad things" because "I deserve it since I'm (insert emotion here)." I try to talk to someone about it now rather than eat. I usually feel much better after I vent, plus it gives me some perspective on the situation. poo: I'm not sure if you're still having troubles shapie, but caffeine from coffee drinks really gets me going. I always have to be prepared if I get a mocha or something, because I know what will happen. At least it keeps me from getting them too often. ;) watchme: yikes I'm surprised you can even stay sane working that many hours per week, let alone make it to the gym. Kudos to you! pastykate: What are you getting a tattoo of? I'm going to get a tattoo when I reach my goal weight as a gift to myself :) akela: I like this big breakfast idea...can you give us a sample menu of what you have? I have a hard time coming up with anything for a "big" breakfast besides scrambled eggs and toast. :P Glad to hear it's working out for you I haven't had a chance to talk to my boss at the coffee shop yet. I wanted to call her last night, but she answered and said she couldn't talk right at the moment. I really wish she had just not answered so I could have left a message. LAME! I plan on telling her that my availability has NOT changed from what we agreed on when I was hired, and that I'd be happy to keep working three days a week. Otherwise this will be my last week at the coffee shop. We'll see what she says I guess. :-\ On a happier note, my boyfriend has decided to try and lose 50 pounds! I'm really happy about this, because he's very overweight (I'm not sure how much, he doesn't want to weigh himself...). I would still love him no matter how he looked, I just want him to be healthier. He has asthma, and I'd be so sad if he got diabetes or heart disease because of his weight. He plans on getting a scale soon. However, he has decided to do this "his way" and doesn't want to count any calories or measure anything...we'll see how this goes. If he manages to lose more weight than me I'm going to be ticked :P |

Hey guys. I'm just sorta flying in to make a quick post here and then I have to get ready to go into the lab. I'm really irritated by my job at the coffee house (in fact I said I was sick today so I could leave early). When I got hired I told my boss I could work Monday-Friday and I didn't want more than 12 hours per week. She said that was fine. There were no issues. So, lately she's been scheduling me for Saturdays. When I told her early on that I can't work weekends. I went to talk to her about it today and she said that she's letting everyone go who can't work at least 4 days (I work three days). Apparently 17 different employee's schedules are "impossible" (her word) for her to deal with. So I told her I could work Sunday mornings just so I wouldn't get fired on the spot, even though I really can't. If I picked up Sunday mornings I would have NO days off. Right now I'm volunteering, taking a class and working two jobs...I need SOME time for me. I haven't had time to work out or do much homework or anything else because I'm so busy. I'm just really angry because she was fine with this when I got hired. I don't think she's handling this well. I'm planning on talking to my supervisor at the lab to see if I can get more hours there. If that works out, I'm just going to quit at the coffee shop. UGH stupid life... On the plus side, I've gone down an inch around my waist! No idea what is going on with my weight since I haven't been to the gym. Met all the challenges this week. I'm sorry I haven't been around girls. I miss you guys. |
