| hey everyone! I'm kind of in a procrastinating mood right now--so why not post an update? I'm really resisting the temptation to weigh myself every morning, because I end up getting frustrated because my weight jumps around so much, so I've decided it'd be better for me to weign in once a week. Today I was good at breakfast (bowl of fiber-y cereal and some fruit) but I just ate a HUGE wrap for lunch--carved turkey, roasted veggies, and shredded cheese, yum! But I feel all stuffed and guilty now...
Hoping to go for a run later this afternoon though. The weather's really nice, but I'm still fighting off an infection in my big toe since I dropped a sofa on it last Saturday (weird, I know), so I don't know if I want to bother it any further. Maybe I'll do the bike in the gym instead? Anyway, I'm really glad I found this site and group, it's great motivation! Keep up the good work everyone!! |

| Hi everyone, I'm only about 2 weeks into my "lifestyle change" (I'm tired of dieting, it never works, I'm just trying to eat healthier!). I went into college this year around 170-175, and now I'm 159 (still teetering on the 160s border, but I'm hoping by Easter to be solidly in the 150s!) I'm 5'9 and my goal weight is 149. I was reading the posts here, and it seems like a great support group, and something that would really keep me motivated. Up for a new member? | |||

| Anyone ever tried Cracklin' Oat Bran? I'd never heard of it before I came to college, but they serve it in our dining halls, and it is the best cereal I've ever tasted!! Kinda high in calories (225 for 3/4cup) and it's almost impossible to eat only the serving size, but it's made with whole oats and has a lot of fiber, so it does stay with you through the day. wow, i sound like I'm a spokeswoman for it.... | |||

| I also prefer to run outside, that way you can look at surroundings to take your mind off of the pain or tiredness. And I wholeheartedly agree that an iPod is a great investment. I love listening to audiobooks when I run, I'm going through the Harry Potter series now. I get so into them that I'll be running for 10 minutes before I even realized what I'm doing! Other suggestions--making a mental to-do lists or imagining a dream vacation!! | |||

| is there a best time in the day to weign in? I usually weigh myself everyday right when I wake up (I've found it's the least I weigh all day, so its less likely to make me want to chuck the scale out the window...haha) but is that really giving me an accurate weight? | |||

| Hey, I'm a freshman accounting major (but I swear I'm not boring!) and I just want to get in better shape and tone up for the summer (my LEAST favorite time of year, i dread trying on bikinis!). I've tried several fad diets that didn't go so great in the past, and now I'm just trying to eat healthy instead. I'm only a few days into it, so still in the "optimistic" mood about it.
5'9"--medium/muscular build Started: 175lbs (October '06) Now: 164lbs Goal: 149lbs...but I'm worrying more about lowering inches and body fat percentage Good luck to everyone, and have a great St. Patty's!! |
