I'm so bummed I missed the show.  When is it on again?  I wonder if it would work for me.  Didn’t think since I was doing CC that I was still suffering from emotional eating, lol, but alas VERY stressful day and before I knew it I was at 1100 calories BEFORE LUNCH!  And I usually eat about that in a day…lol.  SO, I think I need to start practicing this process if it’s supposed to help people with binge eating and emotional eating.  I sometimes know at night I’m super full and yet, I crave crave crave.  Not sure how to combat that.  Thoughts?  Anyone know when it will be on next?  Or where I can get the notes from last nights show?

Hi Ladies,

So I’ve been going to my spin classes thinking that this was the perfect way to lose weight fast.  I really want to hit the cardio so I can lose the bulge and then worry about the toning later.  Has anyone else had success doing it that way?  Just curious.  I bulk SOOOO easily, so for me, just doing spinning I’ve gained 4 pounds.  Awesome.  I know it’s muscle or water, but it really freaks me out.  Or am I building too much muscle and should turn down the resistance in class?  Just curious as this is my first run with the classes and so far I’ve averaged 800 calories a workout!  WOW!! Also the knees are starting to really hate me.  Not sure if I’m spinning wrong or just doing too much too quickly.  Feeling like the eating during the week’s getting better, but dating and going out on the weekend’s have been really tough.  No new guy wanted to see you eat like a bunny when you look like a cow…lol, right?  Anyway, hopefully it’ll get easier or I’ll have to work out extra hard on the weekends to make up for the eating/drinking?

Em, the Tex Mex came out the other night and when I got home I went online to see how badly I had done.  Well my freaking black bean and chicken salad (which was the healthiest thing on the menu thank you very much) was FREAKING 890 calories!  I couldn’t believe it!  And that’s without the dressing!  Makes me really stop and think about how often I used to go eat tex mex out with friends and mindlessly eat an entire bowl of chips and salsa and still devour my dinner which on average was about 1500 cal and 30 gr of fat for the things I used to order.  Well, no wonder I gained 30 pounds…lol

Also wanted to share this site I just stumbled upon today.  Thought it was a funny concept and since I am the worst when it comes to accountability, I thought I’d sign up for a little more kick in the pants so to speak..lol.. http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/new-we b-site-burn-500-calories-or-burn-500-dollars It’s an article about this new site that started where you have to bet someone that you will quit smoking, lose weight, work out regularly, something custom and you put down a wager.  When you don’t complete it you lose hard cash.  Something I’m very fond of…lol…and since it’s dear to me I’m thinking it might help me lose the weight!  LOL.  Well mine will be to burn 500 calories a workout.  And I think my roommate will be the ref or tattle tale…lol…and I’m not sure who I will leave the money to.  Anyways, thought it was interesting if you all wanted to check it out.

Anyway glad this is still running.  I need all the kicks in the butt I can get these days.

Oops.  I was weak and after the most hideous of first dates I had a smoke.  Still haven't had a drink or been shopping but geez, this is much harder than I thought it would be.  So if you break Lent like I did, do I re-do lent?  Or say that I messed that one up and focus on the other 2 that I haven't failed at?  I think I'm going to try again with the no smoking thing.  I know I have an out saying it's for the week nights only, but I thought that was enough of a sacrafice and knew I couldn't do it for 40 whole days.  Is that a cop out?  Or is this still ok?

I wouldn't go below what they are telling you to eat.  You won't lose faster by cutting, and can actually lose less since your body thinks it's starving.  Are you still breast feeding/pumping?  Sorry, not a mom so I have no idea when you stop doing that...lol.  If so you need to account for more calorie loss and need to eat more.  Eating healthy is awesome and I applaud your effort.  I’ve been doing these things for years and although haven’t been able to maintain the weight loss as I had hoped, I hope to still be able to help as many as I can.  I’ve already made some great connections with folks on here and see as a check and balance in a way so I’m more accountable by doing this than any other diet plan.  Just be sure that you’re eating enough.  I know you’re running around a lot, so make time to eat.  Make sure you’re getting your minimum calories and try not to ever go below 1200.  How tall are you?  And if you have questions feel free to email anytime JYuri

You could bike, use the elliptical, and run in the pool.  I think running in the pool is the best since it doesn't hurt the knees and you're still getting great cardio.  I have an injury in my right knee and even the bike hurts so the pools been great.  But I feel you on the weight gain after injury.  It sucks to have to get back to where you were, but with time and patience you will get there.  Just don't push too hard too fast.  Trust me.  Listen to what they tell you.  I re-injured mine 3 times and had to take 3 months off from the gym each time.  Not even the pool.  So, take your time, and swim and run in the pool.  Take anti-inflammatories too.

Giving up shopping, frivolous cab rides, alcohol and smoking on weeknights.  This will be my toughest Lent to date.  Yikes!  But I really think that’s the point, isn’t it?  And I think it will help me to stay super focused on what I need to do to lose weight.  And hey, with the money I’ll save I’m going to buy personal training sessions.  Not many, but enough to get me into the darn gym to begin with…lol.  Been a member there for 9 months and have never been.  At $90 a month, I could have gone to Hawaii for a  week!  Geez!!! Can you add things to lent?  A friend was telling me that she was going to start walking daily for lent.  I thought you were supposed to give something up not make it like a resolution and add something to your life?  Confused?

Hi Everyone,Sorry I've been MIA for so long.  I'm still at the same weight...lost about 5 and gained it all back in one weekend and it's stayed ever since I got back from vacation.  I'm more determined now than ever to be at my goal weight by May.  Signed up for my personal trainer and will be sweating soon enough.  Obviously 1200 is harder than I thought to keep up.  It's like I'm good all week and by the weekend it's all for nothing since I go out to 2 dinners and drinking.  Phew.  So I know I will have to incorporate tons of workouts in order to lose weight and still be single in the city!  Glad to be back!YJK

Motivation is anyone doing slim in 6 or turbo jam Jan 07 2008
19:39 (UTC)

Hi May,

I did Slim in 6 and LOVED it.  The advanced tape gets a little boring since you have to do the same one for 4 weeks almost, and it seems a little repetitive but if you stick with it…YOU WILL SEE AWESOME RESULTS.  I lost 2 whole sizes and had thinner legs and for the first time a really defined abs.  I wish I had room to work out in my new apartment!  I miss that body…lol  I recommend fully.  Let me know how you’re doing with it or if you need help.

New Members How many calories am I really burning daily? Jan 07 2008

Thanks everyone.  I think I'm not counting the things I'm doing.  i just assumed since I'm not going to the gym that my lifestyle is sedentary...lol.  i'll see how the 1200 goes this week and determine if I'm losing.  I've lost 3 pounds and took your advice, weighed in first thing in the am so I wouldn't be adding clothing or food weight.  So now at 166 according to this morning's report.  yeah!

To determine the calorie expenditure, what I do is determine what you burn should be more than you eat.  So say I'm burning 1800 a day and eating 1200.  that means I've burned 600 calories a day.  there are 3600 calories in a pound, so if you multiply 600x7days in a week, then you will know how many pounds you will lose.  this is approximate and there are things to you need to account for, like exact calories that you are eating as well as giving yourself credit for moving and any activities.  That was my problem.  I thought I was sedentary.

So, if I stay this way I think I can reach my goal by May?  Hope so.

I love that you've tried this and had success like I had. I was wondering though about the Hip Hop Abs. Do you have to be coordinated? I know it's a lame question, but I can't dance to save my life...lol...and I wasn't sure how feasible it was to order.

Do you want to do the SI6 together? I need someone who will yell via email...lol...if I lose track.

Thanks!

I did it a few years ago, and I'll tell you, if you can get through the last video and keep with it 5/6 days a week...IT WORKS. I had the best body I've ever had using these tapes and have helped so many of my friends and co-workers lose weight and be successful with this plan. My CEO loved it so much that I was able to get her Debbie's phone number and they trained together! She's amazing!

Well, now here's the sad part. I know it works. I know it does since I've already done it, and experienced amazing results. SO why can't I get off my butt and do it? I need motivation. Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks

Yuri

Hi there, I'm 31 F with about 30 pounds to lose as well. Would love more buddies to help me with my goal and for me to give my support to anyone who needs it. I think it's the best way to really stay on target. I wish I was as into working out as you are. The eating thing I think I can manage for small amounts of time...lol...but working out has always been an issue for me. I did do the Slim in 6 tapes a couple years ago and have never had such a great body. I wish I had somewhere to work out at home now, but with roommates and one small living room, it's not likely to happen...lol Hope you're doing well today. :) Yuri
