| Yeah, the yogurt is key, but I also think it turns out better if you actually bake the brownies instead of sticking them in the microwave. They sort of work in the microwave, but they don't ever have quite the same texture or consistency. | |||

| Still clean! I have been especially enjoying riding my bike to work everyday, it is a great way to start the day and a perfect way to unwind at the end of work. | |||

| Hi everyone! I am still here, but I need a restart for May 28th (stupid road-trip!). I am dedicated now to being clean until June 9th. That is less than two weeks, and I know I can totally do it, just need to concentrate! | |||

| Well, my weekend in Denver was fabulous; tons of fun and tons of great food. It wasn't a tragic splurge, but there was plenty of stuff that was not on my intended list... start me over please! | |||

| Hi all - I've been consistently under 175 for over a month now, so I am pretty excited! I feel you, foxlady, I have the same trouble remembering what I am doing when I go out, and I have a skinny, muscular, construction working husband who eats everything and always weighs less than I do! I just try to be good when I can, and I really think it helps to excercise consistently, that way when I am bad, at least I'm not bad ALL week! Haha! Good luck, we can all do this! | |||

| Hi.
I think that there are a couple of things you could do. It would probably help to up your calories in small increments. I think that if you start eating 1500 calories a day and eating double whoppers you will gain weight. But, if you continue to eat the great, healthy things you enjoy and just up the portions some, you will be able to eat more, have more energy, and still lose a few pounds. Do you excercise regularly? If you are excercising, it will help your metabolism stay normalized. You know that you are young and that your body needs more food than that to grow, so I won't lecture you. But I do think that you need to be careful. I had an ED when I was your age, and I did actually get over it without ever talking to anyone about it, but it was pretty mild and I really had to DECIDE that I wanted to be healthy and happy more than I wanted to be skinny, and it was hard. Good luck, and thank you for being so open and honest with your struggles. Susan |

| Still going strong since my restart. I am heading to Denver for the weekend, so I'm not sure... Actually I'm sure I'll cheat, I just hope I can do it resonably. :) | |||

| Oh no! We're all falling to pieces!! Well, I need to be restarted too. I didn't even have the heart to count my calories yesterday, but I am sure I went over at two different meals. Oh well, I still feel great after over a week of clean eating and I am happy to start again fresh today. :) | |||

| That's really funny, because I am exactly the opposite. If I am doing well, losing weight, getting compliments, then I feel relaxed and start eating whatever. Then the next day I will feel bloated and fat, and then I am really regimented. I can't seem to KEEP my motivation once I see it is working. :) And yes, excercise always makes me happy and I can really tell a decrease in motivation and self confidence if I stop doing it for awhile... | |||

| I'm still here. I am holding steady between 173-175. It is slow progress, but progress nevertheless. It might not sound great to anyone else, but this is less than I have weighed since high school, so I am pretty happy! | |||

| Today I ate *gasp* half of a snickers bar. I almost didn't eat any, but I had budgeted the calories and I wanted it. It was SO incredibly difficult to stop at half and tape the remainder up for another day. But... I did it and I am still on track! | |||

| Oh, Oh, I want in! I need some motivation to get moving. I have been steadily losing for five months, but really slowly (about 2 pounds a month). I have only cut back my calorie intake a little and upped my activity a little, so things have been slow, steady, and easy. I have been thinking lately though that I want to get things moving a little faster. I could work harder at this and still not suffer, so I'm ready to give it a try! | |||

| I'm no expert, but I would say that you should be sweating while on the eliptical machine, especially if you feel like you can go faster. I never use the pre-set programs, because they never seem right to me. Also, you can adjust the resistance level up or down of any program, so even if you are going slow, you can make your body work harder for it by adjusting the level up. If you want to lose weight you certainly can use the weight machines. One issue that some people worry about is that muscle mass makes you heavier (which is true) but having increased muscle mass also raises your resting metabolism, makes you healthier overall and aids in long term weight loss. You should concentrate on maintaining a higher heart rate while weight lifting though, do mroe reps with less weight and move fairly quickly from one machine to the next, that way you get some cardio benefit as well. You don't need a personal trainer, just watch what other people are doing, and ask the people around you for suggestions, most people are happy to chat about their workout regimen. | |||

| Suzy90 - I know how you feel hon! I have been swamped with homework for days (no downtime at all, just homework, work and sleep!) and it really gets you run down after awhile. Sometimes when I am really feeling like I can't take it anymore I go for a nice long run, take a hot shower, eat something... and low and behold I am like a new person, ready to keep going for hours! Hang in there, and keep working at it. Time spent worrying about dieting, exercising, homework, etc. is never as useful as actually getting those things accomplished. | |||

| I am so full of God's joy and love and life! He is so good and faithful, and I want to learn each day how to be more faithful, more joyful, filled with the fantastic, abundance that is His gift of life. I think that as Christians we have a call to live joyous abundant lives, comitted to those around us. Without a healthy body and a healthy relationship with myself and my food, I think I hinder myself from fulfilling His hopes for me. I attend Albuquerque Mennonite Church. | |||

| I love the UP! Where are you guys going? I would love to hear the details of your trip afterwards. It sounds like a pretty adventurous trip, so I am assuming the people you are going with know what they are doing in terms of gear, food, etc. Be sure to bring enough layers of clothing. It is much better to bring a number of thinner, lighter layers than one giant sweater, for example. That way, you can modulate your temperature more precisely, and you can have options if something gets soaking wet (which it all probably will). When you stop moving for the night and make camp, change everthing you are wearing (absolutely everything) because you don't want the moisture that you built up during the day's activities to freeze you once you stop. Have lots of fun!! I love being outside in the winter, it is SO beautiful! | |||

| how are you feeling: Great! I am so excited to live life everyday, and it is extra fun to feel my sore leg muscles and my flattening stomach and to know that I am being good to myself. Are you having problems in anything: Nothing that a healthy and happy attitude can't overcome. Are you motivated to reach your goals? Yes, I am skiing my first ever cross country ski marathon at the end of February, and the very thought of that is enough to put the fear of God in me. Are you having problems in certain areas of exercise? I love to excercise, which is funny because I am a very lazy person naturally. But, I always feel SO much better when I am really active, so I almost always make the right choice. I don't like to excercise indoors, I find it boring and a bit demoralizing, so even when it is terrible weather outside, I bundle up and go for a run or jump on my bike. Give me one thing that you have learnt in 2006 that has and will inspire you throught 2007? I don't know really, but I guess I would say that it is fun to suffer physically through exercise, much more fun than suffering emotionally through feeling inadequate and fat. Life is very beautiful and there is no reason not to feel it to the fullest all of the time. |

Not only am I down a pound this last week, I feel well rested and well-splurged and ready to be extra dedicated to being healthy this week. | |||

| For my money I would definitely say wine. Red wine is supposedly good for your heart, and at 70 odd calories a glass (3.5oz) it isn't even that much of a splurge. I suppose light beer is also a good option, but a glass of it is usually closer to 100 calories, and doesn't seem to have as much alcohol in it as a glass of wine. DEFINITELY stay away from hard liquor, margaritas, egg nog, etc. Many mixed drinks have well over 700 calories in one little drink. Yikes! | |||

| Welcome Magmia2, it is great to have you with us!
I weighed in this morning at 184. I have decided to lower my calorie intake to below 1800, while continuing running/biking. Hopefully that will get things moving on a downward trend! |
