If your bar has it, order and gin and ginger. If they have diet ginger-ale, even better! This is one of my husbands fav drinks, and its not all girly looking.

Be careful with the energy drinks. The ones that contain taurine can cause high blood pressure in teens and young adults. I had this problem even a week after I stopped drinking them. Def don't drink more than 1, even though a can is actually 2 servings. Also, splenda is sucralose, just a brand-name. You could try getting no sugar added grape juice and diluting it a bit with selzer water. Less calories and still fizzy.

If you have a set of reasonable heavy dumbells you could also try tabata-thrusters. Here's the url of a good site. I do these once a week when I'm short on time, but beware! They are WAYYY hard.

Weight Loss Caffeine Is An Oxymoron Jan 15 2008

I agree. Everything I have read say coffee is fine as long as you limit it to 2 cups a day. I'm sure you won't lose too many nutrients unless you are the person that drinks two pots a day, and I know people like that.

On another caffiene note, my husband and I used to be energy drink junkies. I'm 27, and he's 29, and all of a sudden we had high blood pressure, even if we had no caffiene before the test. I mean scary high, like 150/90. I then heard on the news about energy drink use in teens and young adults causing them to have high blood pressure. It's because of an ingredient, taurine, which energy drinks have in high doses. We all need taurine, but half an energy drink has your entire daily quota, so if you drink 2 or more cans a day...you get the point. Couple this with those of us who enjoy rebull-vodkas for happy hour...bad bad.

We stopped drinking them and our blood pressure is normal now. I have been holding steady at 120/75.

My husband got me an Acti-trainer. Its awesome. You need a subscription to use all the software, but you don't need it to count steps or calories. It has different modes too. It comes in 4 colors too..mines pink :)
Weight Loss when you lose weight, do your boobs have to get smaller?? Dec 26 2007

Haha, no. I'm only 5'8, and thanks for the Liv compliment. I used to get that I looked like her when I was a teenager and she was in those Aerosmith videos. I was much, much thinner then though, trying to get back to it.

I have been hoping my boobs would shrink, but so far after 20lbs they have not. I just found out too that I am wearing the wrong bra size, so my boobs are even BIGGER than I thought! I thought I was a 36DD, but I'm actually a 36F. I hope they shrink once I reach my goal! They are seriously the cause of so much teenage trauma. That's what happens when you are a C cup and growing by age 12. Everyone has something to say about your boobs. Creepy old men ogle you. Guys talk into your blouse and don't even bother to hide it. Forget about wearing button up shirts. Gah!!! Sorry for the rants guys.
Weight Loss Self-sabotage, emotional issues, counseling? Dec 26 2007

I have been in and out of therapy most of my life, but its only the past couple of years that a doctor actually addressed the issues I have with food. I know I have a binging problem, with both food and alcohol. I have no problem not eating or having a drink, but when I do its so hard to stop. When I was a teeager it was the opposite. I struggled with another eating disorder and would starve myself for weeks. So I have always had this cycle of overindulgence and denial. I know I do it. I know what triggers it, but its up to me to stop it.

Its only been over the past year and a half that I've lost any significant weight, 20 lbs, but now, like you, I'm stuck and sabatoging myself. I have another 40lbs I want to lose, so I have to get a handle on things and fast. Good luck with everything.

No, nothing other than half and half in my coffee, and cheese, but cheese has very little lactose, so its possible I am intolerant. I can't drink milk at all, not becasue it makes me feel bad, it just grosses me out. I wonder if its the cultures in yogurt too? I have thought about the danactive drinks becasue they'd be a quick meal or snack in the morning, but....well you know. Thanks!
Weight Loss Muscle vs. Fat, is weight just a number? Dec 19 2007

This makes me feel so much better. I have been fluctuating up to 3lbs a day on the scale, and haven't dropped past my lowest weight in two months, but my pants are all falling off me! I do notice how much stronger i am and how much more I can lift, lunge, ect. It bums me out to not see the numbers move that much, but losing a couple jean sizes works too!

Health & Support i don't understand EDs Dec 10 2007

ED's are usually a manifestation of another problem, such as sexual or emotional abuse as a young child. The feelings of fear and confusion lead to self blame, "I'm not good/pretty/thin enough." Being perfect becomes the pathway to love and acceptance, "He would like me if were skinny like her, ect." Somehow the brain of a traumatized child develops differently leading to symptoms such as depression, self harm, ED's, bi-polar disorder, OCD, and many other conditions. I know this does not apply to everyone all the time, but in most cases it does.

Yes! Its unlikely that you have never had that food before, so savor it breifly, and then move on and mingle! I knoe I'd love to eat all of the spinach artichoke dip at the xmas party, but it won't be any more delicious than the fist bite. So, have a bite of what's "bad" and go on.

I never eat cereal anymore. If I don;t have protein in the morning I and starving all day! I get the cage free orgaqnic eggs, and I swear they cook up twice as big as the other kind! Add a little veggie bacon and I've got breakfast, usually under 200 cal.
Weight Loss Does Cal count really work or is it the gym ????? Dec 05 2007

I've lost 20lbs so far, but my body has changed so much. I fit into clothes I couldn't wear even when I was 10lbs lighter than I am now. I have developed so much more muscle, and its changing the way my body looks, not just my weight. This means I can actually look like I weigh less than I do. I do count calories, but weight training has really made the difference in the way I look.
Motivation I need motivation!!!!!!!!! Too fat and too lazy to exercise! Dec 05 2007

For me, staying motivated is about variety. I seldom do the same routine twice in one week. I dvr shows from the fitness channel, I'll do circuit traing, I'll play with the dogs, work in the yard, lift weights, do walking lunges in the treadmill, and sometimes I'll just jog in place of jumprope. No one says exercise has to be one thing. For me, the wider variety of things I do, the more I feel like doing them. Options give me a chance to access how I feel for the day, like If I'm tired, I'll walk the dogs for 20 minutes and that's it. If I feel energetic, I'll lift weights and then do pilates, or I'll do some interval training. Good luck with your goals, and don't let excuses ruin your motivation. You deserve to be who you want, but you have to work for it.
Weight Loss Ladies who are 150 pounds, what is your jeans size? Dec 05 2007

Wow yeah, the sizes vary so much! When I was 150 I wore about a 10, but now I'm not sure what size it will be when I get to my goal weight of 140, I hope its size9! I'm 5'8, and weigh 179 right now, and wear a 12 but it depends on the brand too. My size 12 calvin kleins fit just right, but my sz 12 american eagle jeans swim on me.
Weight Loss Helping Friend w/ Weight issue... Dec 04 2007

I too, relate. I've tried to get y mother and my best friend to join. My mom is just stubborn, but I feel sometimes like my friend uses her weight as an excuse to not get close to people. If a guy shows any interest in her she automatically thinks, "No, I'm too fat, he only likes me as a friend." It makes me sad because I know what a great person she is. Any guy would be lucky to have a girl like her. I guess you can really only help people who want it.

I think it has to do with how tall you are, and the height of your photographer. No one looks good from underneath. Its better to shoot from slightly higher and angled down a bit. If someone is a few inches shorter than you, the photo gets distorted a bit more than if it was taken at eye level.

Wow that is a long time to jump! Are you skipping rope or jumping, (single jump at a time, no bounce, feet together)? If you are straight jumping for a hald hour or more you must have buns of iron!!!
