Pregnancy & Parenting Nursing in public- your opinion Nov 18 2009

Ugh! I just had issue with this last night.

I was out to a restaurant with Darling Baby Daddy,DBD, and my sister and my little one was howling for some Mama Milk. I was in the corner of our booth and had two tops on which provided lots of coverage and I went to feed my DD and my sister says to me, "why don't you just go in the bathroom?!"

AH! I was soooooooo pissed off. My sister has watched me nurse a hundred times and she watched me give birth, so I know she wasn't saying this because it bothered her but she was worried what OTHER people might think.

It really made me more sad than angry, though. Sad that people would be disturbed by what my beautiful little girl and I share, that is, as folkharpist says, magical!

I've never seen a full out boob and I don't really want people to see my full out boob but people really do need to get their heads out of the gutter.

Ugh, my daughter is almost six months and still gets up 3-4 times a night. :(

I put her down between 6:30-7:30 every night.  and she'll usually cry at about 9 and I'll give her her paci. and then she'll get up at about 11 to eat. Then 2 or 3, then 5 or 6 and up for good anywhere between 7-8.

I want to let her "cry-it-out" but my baby daddy thinks she's starving and that's why she gets up so often. She's in the 10th percentile for weight and he's worried that she would disappear if I took away the night-time feedings!

Pregnancy & Parenting Working out while pregnant is exhausting! Sep 23 2009

In the first trimester I had no energy. It got better in the second then a little worse in the third but still better than the first. But I was still pretty exhausted the entire time! I napped daily and slept at least 9 hours every night.

I would be so out of breath just walking up a flight of stairs even though I did work out my entire pregnancy.

So for me it didn't really get easier until after my delivery, sad to say. :(

oh my gosh! I actually mistyped, my daughter is 4 months old and weighs 11lbs, 10 ozs! She was 7 lbs when she was born!

With your boy gaining weight just fine I bet you could easily cut out a few hundred Cals without hurting your supply.

I'm 5'7" and 150 lbs. I lost 30 lbs of pregnancy weight in about 3 months. I'm not sure exactly how much milk I'm producing, though. My daughter is 3 months old and 10th% for weight. I'm eating about 2000 Cals/day at least but she just isn't gaining weight very quickly.

I'm going to try eating about 2200/day for a while and see how much that affects my milk supply.

I was exercising a lot but after dr's appointment we had at 3 months I stopped doing so much because she had only gained 5 ozs from 2-3 months!

I have experienced the same situation as Bier.

I gained 30 pounds during pregnacy lost fifteen in about the first month and the last fifteen over the next two. I'm 3 months PP right now and I finally reached my pre-pregnancy weight a few days ago.

I brought my daughter in to the doctor a few weeks ago and it had been a month since the last visit and she had only gained 6 ounces over that month. :-(

I had been exercising a lot and eating about 1800-2000 kcals/day. The doctor suggested I eat more on any day I exercise. At least 2200 on days I work out.

I started to do that and have been losing at least a pound a week since.

And the appointment was on a Monday and we had to go back in on Friday and DD had gained 9 ozs over those four days!

Early pregnancy feels so like being pre-menstrual that it can get very confusing!

My baby is only three months old and I already forgot what it felt like to be very early in the pregnancy. This is troublesome because my period is about five days late right now and I'm so paranoid I'm preggers again! It feels like I'm about to start my period but that is also what I remember feeling right before I found out I was prego about a year ago.

AH!

Yeah, Pearl is one day older than Aria and this has been her exactly lately. I forgot her Nuk the other day at the grocery store and had to give her my finger as a paci and she gummed the crap out of it. Her clothes are getting drenched from all her crazy amounts of drool.

I'm pretty sure she's teething. I hope it doesn't take months! Poor peanuts.

Why would you elect to have a c-section? You do realize it is MAJOR abdominal surgery, right?

I understand that there are emergency situations in which a C.S. is required but I do not understand why, with no medical reason, someone would choose to have one...

If it's the pain of l&d that worries you, you can always choose to have an epidural.

It's a bit crazy that you're worried about this and you are not even pregnant yet.

When I was preggers I was nervous about labor but it just happens and it's okay! And then you have your baby!

People do it without drugs all over the world and they even continue having more, so it can't be all THAT bad! :-) Don't worry so much!

For my super supper, I cook up cubed chicken breast in OJ with various spices depending on the feel I'm looking for, for instance: when I want a mexican feel I'll use cumin, chile powder, cilantro, lime, etc.

While the chicken is cooking, I have some uncle ben's instant brown rice steaming in another pan. Before I cover the rice I add various spices, salt and raisins or craisins.

When the chicken is done I mix it with the brown rice and either serve it over spinach or with a side of some veggie.

So delicious, all natural, and relatively low Calorie. And best part is it's always on the table in about fifteen minutes!

I didn't post my weight yet because I knew it was going to be ridiculous! So i'm just going to wait until tomorrow to post.

As far as food weaknesses go, I'm usually pretty good and my will power is strong.

I would say cookies and candies are the worst but my baby girl is allergic to milk and I'm breastfeeding her so I can't have ANY dairy, chocolate included! And so I haven't had any chocolates or cookies or candy or really sweets of any kind in over 2 months!

kristijschramm and aeetheri both look awesome preggers!  Do you guys feel like you look(ed) good?

I felt like I looked pretty cute until the last two weeks. When I see my userpic, i'm like, "Damn! I was huge!"

I was still hiking on the trails near my home about 3 times a week, though, even with the ginormous belly!

Also, when I was about 4 months, when you're kind of showing but not really, I felt fat then. Like, I know why my belly is bigger but almost no one else does.

My weight was 180 lbs. and I was 150 before I became pregnant and I'm 5'7.

My daughter is 11 weeks old and I had the beta strep while I was prego, too.

I had been planning on laboring at home as long as possible because I wanted to avoid an epidural but with the strep they want you to be there to get a few doses of ampicilin before baby comes.

I labored at the hospital for about 10 hours and got three doses of Ampicilin. They gave me an IV and administered the doses four hours apart.

Baby was fine and I delivered with no other interventions.

Pregnancy & Parenting How do I breastfeed in public? Jul 02 2009

haha Yeah, old ladies LOVE to come up to me while I'm nursing in public. I really could care less about people seeing my breasts, I'm not a body shy person, but I do not want to make anyone else uncomfortable. A lot of my guy friends feel really uncomfortable about it because they are so scared they might see a boob (even though they won't!)

That's why I am more discreet about it.

I'm not a germphobe and I nurse my baby in bathrooms all the time. I don't take her in a stall. I usually just turn my back to the door and am as discreet as possible.

If the bathroom is a bit nasty or small I will nurse her in the car. We were at outback steakhouse a while ago and I just sat in the corner of our booth and nursed her with a sweater over her and my boobs.

Practice really makes perfect and the more you do it the more comfortable it will become for you.

Pregnancy & Parenting Baby cravings? Jun 28 2009

I am 22 and that is young but I have had mothering urges since I was in middle school. I blame it on my babysitting days. And I'm the oldest of three children.

I finally caved last summer and got prego with my boyfriend. Definitely under less than ideal circumstances Tongue out But now I have my baby girl and I've never regretted making her for a moment. It has always felt right.

And unfortunately for me, the baby bug has NOT gone away even with a baby.

I was sitting in the delivery room already thinking about when baby #2 will come.

I'm not going to give in this time (even though I do intensely want to be pregnant again) until I'm through with nursing school.

I think if you and your fiance do love each other and want to make a baby then I don't think it will ultimately matter if it was before or after or slightly after you got married.

Hello ladies! Week 1 Challenge.

For sure the best things about me are my ability to go with the flow, my no nonsense attitude, and my hair!

When life gets crappy I could mope and gain back some of the weight that i've worked so hard to lose but more often than not, I just adapt. I easily accept life's curveballs.

I also don't let those closest to me get away with anything. I keep everyone in check and hope that will return the favor for me when the moment arises!

Lastly, I had to do a physical trait, my hair! It's down to just above the small of my back and I've been coloring it black since I was in high school. I loooooove my long black hair!
