Weight Loss Tips on ignoring food cravings! Nov 27 2007

Original Post by ajja:

I love my child, but I hate it to say that she enjoys food too much for my taste. She's only 9. I love her, but her food cravings is something I cannot get control over. I want her to eat a certain amount of then stop, but she wants just a little extra. Not alot and she doesn't eat junkfood it's that we can be less intrested in food. I am not intrested in food ,yet we are fed, well fed by a society who feels there is no need for starvation ,yet we are 25lbs overweight, alot of us. I want it to stop. The first thing I do is baby sit ups, bicycle on my back,or in the worst cases just barf. It helps. I do not like it either. There is no force feeding going on but, put down the food.

Is anyone else confused by this post?? Did you really just say that to avoid eating you "barf"? And if your child is eating healthy food....what is the problem??

Blue, that's an awesome middle name! Mine is boring old Marie lol. You ran for 33 minutes straight? That's great! I ran for like 3 yesterday lol on the treadmill. Running has never been my forte. I pushed myself pretty hard at the gym yesterday, so I'm proud of myself today :)

One day down...only the rest of my life to go ;)

Are we going to have weekly weigh ins?

If you have Comcast cable, you can get lots of On Demand exercise workouts for FREE :) It's awesome and if you hate the one you picked, you can ditch it and try another! If you don't have this, I recommend Hip Hop Abs or the Biggest Loser work out dvd. Good luck!

ohhh gosh.. I so miss being able to pick out anything in a store and know that there was a 99% chance that it would look nice on me.

I also miss being able to cross my legs comfortably. I can still do it and all, but it's not nearly as comfortable. I miss that. This is a goal for the very near future.

Hey..is there room in here for another Amy?? :) My overall goal is 60 and I just started (again- UGH) today. 10 down by 08 SHOULD be relatively easy for me, considering that when I typically start, I lose about 5-7 in the first week. I'm 28...5'9 and 212 right now. I've been all over as well. five years ago before I got preggo with my son, I was 140 and about a size 4. I would love to get back there. This is a great start for me. I've had about 700 calories so far today and I am starving lol. For "fun", i put the things I would normally eat in a food log and it was like 2000 calories for about HALF of what I would eat in a  day... (pop tarts, marshmallows, hot chocolate, etc)... it really opened my eyes as to just how terrible I have been eating lately.

So I'm officially in.

And missadee, I certainly hope you gave your bf a good punch in the arm.

Dear Body...

I'm not quite ready to love you yet. I've hated  you for so long...blamed you for so much (even when I knew it was my fault, not yours) and have used you to gauge me as a person for so long. I've loved everything about me except for you. I've hid behind you because it's easier to judge others when you are fat. if someone can look beyond that and like me anyway, then I know that they are a good person. When I take care of you, guys respond much more easily. And it makes it harder for me to determine who is good for me and who is bad. And we both know that I am a terrible judge of character.

But in the process of  hiding, I've grown to hate you. because this isn't who I'm supposed to be. Remember 5 years ago, when you were 60 pounds less? Those were amazing days. I miss them so much.

It seems like such a grueling task. I lose the one day at a time mentality and want instant results for you. But we all know that that's not happening! We're starting today...me and you. And we're not looking back.

Love, Me

I disagree as well. I don't believe actual anorexics are doing it for attention. Unfortunately, I believe that people get this misconception because there are people out there who SAY they have anorexia for attention when they actually don't have the illness. I think this is why there has been such a negative attitude towards such a legitimate problem.

I would only say not to do it because it seems like you have such a hard time with self control (like me!) and that you are thinking about it way too much! If something comes up, and you have a little bit of it, that's one thing...but planning a binge, even the smallest...will make you feel so bad tomorrow. I know, I did it last night and am completely kicking myself today. Good luck though! :)
Weight Loss I went 700 over - opinions please? Dec 02 2006

here's the problem with that logic. we learned in weight watchers that the more you eat in one day, that you probably will be MORE hungry tomorrow morning than you usually are. Dont be surprised if this happens to you!

You should definitely eat tomorrow. and 500 calories is not enough. make sure to get a lot of fiber ..that would be a good way to "detox" your body, if you get what i mean! lol

its your birthday. its only one day. dont be too hard on yourself. hit the gym tomorrow. try to limit your sodium and carbs.

thats just my advice!

Good luck!

I wanna lose 30 pounds by May. Which sounds pretty ambitious and maybe not even realistic, but I'm a tall girl that gains and loses 20 pounds pretty easily. so really, it's the last ten.

I wouldn't send any "be careful!" replies, cause trust me, I probably won't do it anyway! lol.

I love weight watchers... when I stick to it. I'm lifetime but I havent seen that weight (147) in several years! (i'm now at 200. ugh!) the holiday meal may have been enough to push your metabolism up a notch, so it may be good for you. Let us know!

You should create your profile. Add journal entries. It's really cool to read other's and for them to comment on yours.

united2gether:"Policy of the website seems to be:

unacceptable content for journal postings includes illegal material, copyrighted works, reposting of other people's private journals or comments and email.

I personally don't think people should be allowed to publicly attack others.  I'm not sure I can stay.  I will have to think hard about that. "

Really? You're not sure you can stay? Just because there isn't a set in stone rule saying "don't attack" each other? Don't get me wrong, I'm not an attacker. Not by my standard of the word, anyway..for all I know, you may see THIS as an attack..but I don't intend it to be that way.

But you're willing to quit a fantastic site just because there is a remote possibility that someone may come at you? I hope you reconsider, because the benefits here certainly outweigh the negatives.

In general (to everyone, meaning):

Not everyone is going to agree with what someone says. But I think it is BS if you expect ANY site to be all sunshine and roses. Sorry, but people are allowed to disagree with you! (and me!) So as long as someone isnt cursing or personally insulting you (think: shut the f up you ugly fat B) then suck it up and MOVE ON. :)

the tossed food diet is my favorite from here too. lol.

I did Herbal Life or Herba Life or whatever..it was Ridiculously expensive (like 250 a month!!) and was so frickin complicated...take this pill here, this one there, etc etc. that I bought all that and never used it.

I tried the cereal diet too...i was like..wow this stuff tastes awesome and its still only like 250 calories per serving. It lasted a day.

I did Slim Fast when I was 14 and lost 5 pounds in one day. Ended up in the hospital day two. I lost the ability to speak and fainted. I'm guessing it's not good. lol
