| thanks so much thats really good to hear. i know that i need a break i just dont want to let my teams down when it comes to game time next week. i will still be active dont worry, my university is on a giant hill, classes are at the top and i live at the bottom.... plus i teach figure skating lessons 3 days a week so Im usually skating around casually for a couple hours sometimes chasing them if they arent moving fast enough lol. my main concern is that im a figure skater as well and i dont want to let my jumps suffer by taking time off. | |||

| try a triffle!!! just layer broken up pieces of angel food cake, fat free sugar free vanilla pudding, lite cool whip and some sort of fruit (I like raspberries the best!) the layers look so pretty if you have a nice bowl to put it in and it tastes fantastic, my mom brought one to school this weekend for parents weekend and it was by far the biggest hit out of all the desserts and the best one for you by far. | |||

| I have this problem too, I run about 2 miles everyday and I feel like I could run more because I'm not really winded and my legs feel great but its the cramp on my right side that kills me and makes me stop!! I would love to know what to do about this!!!
ps I frequently sport the lopsided run, I feel slightly ridiculous but whatever works. |

| yea i did that, but i feel like that is talking about just like skating around doing laps, where as figure skating is so different. ive just been logging it in as general to be on the safe side bc sometimes you are skating over 9.0 mph and sometimes youre not, like when you do programs and stuff. its just not continuous like skating laps so thats why i wasnt sure. | |||

| I am a figure skater and we often use things called Bunga Pads. I have ones that are gel and they go around my ankle to keep the top of my skate from cutting me, but I know that they have them in toe caps as well, one of my friends uses them. They are really comfy and good quality, its another brand you can look into.
I can also relate to you, 2 years ago I went on a pre orientation camping trip for college and by the second day of hiking both my toenails were completely ripped off and infected bc of all the hiking downhill. I almost had to be evacuated from the woods bc of it and then had to spend the entire first day of college at the hospital getting them taken care of. |

| Weight Loss | Gah... I'm trying to eat more, but... | Oct 09 2007 03:52 (UTC) |

| def take her advice i just went through this where i was exercising as much as you were and maybe more and was eating between 300 and 500 calories a day, i had a really hard time at first making it up to 1000 but now 3 weeks later i have no problem eating 1500-1600 healthy calories per day. If you honestly feel like you are going to throw up bc of all of the food, try eating things like nuts bc they are good for you and have a lot of calories without eating too many. i thought that i was fine working out that much and eating so little, but now ive seen a world of a difference, i have so much more energy and am much happier. at first i gained like 5 pounds which was really hard, but now that my body trusts me ive lost that 5 pounds and am continuing to lose more. | |||

| Fitness | How do you handle soaking wet sport clothes? | Oct 01 2007 04:00 (UTC) |

| under armor is key, everything that i work out in is that brand from shorts, spandex, shirts, sports bra, socks(amazing!!!).... everything they make is super light weight and drys quickly, it breaths well when im playing ultimate frisbee in 90 degree heat and also keeps me incredibly warm when we are playing in -20 degree snow storms. the only down fall is that its kind of expensive, its worth every penny though. all of our sports teams at school have custom under armor. | |||

| another thing to remember, especially if you dont weigh yourself regularly is to try to not wear sweatpants and sweatshirts everyday. I know its so easy to just roll out of bed and go to class. but you dont see much weight gain when you wear them and they stretch. so then when you try to slip your old jeans on you realize they dont fit anymore and cant understand how. this happened to a lot of my friends they were so used to wearing sweats all the time and then we would have to go somewhere and dress up and they would try to put on their dress pants and wonder how they packed on all that weight without knowing. | |||

| I'm a junior in college now and the best thing that I found in terms of exercize is to join a club or IM sport. I too get sick of the same thing at the gym everyday. Most club or IM sports are pretty laid back so practice isnt mandatory if you have a lot of work and stuff. Plus its a chance to try new things since a lot of them dont require any experience. I started playing ice hockey last year and ultimate frisbee freshman year. I had never done either before and now love both sports. Plus its a great way to meet people and be social. I just got back from a frisbee tournament yesterday. I played 6 games (yea im really tired and sore now), didnt drink, ate healthy and had sooooooo much fun!!!! | |||

| yea i know its a lot im just really active and like doing a lot of things. i play sports for the social aspect of it, plus i like having fun, so i dont really consider it working out, its just fun and i happen to burn calories. i usually go to the gym for a half hour when i wake up before class then after classes i have ultimate frisbee practice for 2 hours (its more intense than you would think) the i usually spend an hour or 2 at the rink depending on what day it is (im a competitive figure skater and i also play club ice hockey). i usually work out a lot less on the weekends. yesterday i was at the rink for 2 and a half hours and today i just went to the gym for a half hour. im just having a really hard time consuming enough calories and water to make up for how much i exercize without feeling sick and extremely full. | |||

| I'm also having a similar problem, Ive never been a big eater. I think my mom used, "you dont eat enough to keep a bird alive" anyways i never used to drink much water either so with increasing my calorie intake by about 1000 calories (I work out for 3+ hours each day so apparently Im lacking in calories big time) and trying to drink 2 or 3 nalgenes of water, I feel so full I'm sick to my stomach and feel like im going to be sick. this cant be ok can it? im still not making my recommended calorie intake, if i did i think i would explode for sure!! what do i do?!?!?! | |||

| I know how you feel about the transition to college. I'm a junior right now and am still having some of the same problems. College is so stressful and i find myself snacking all the time. In my head the only excuse for not doing work was eating, my friends and i used to spend over an hour in the dining hall talking and snacking because then we didnt have to feel bad about not doing work. Try to stay busy so you dont hang around at the dining hall snacking on all the wonderful desserts. Also if you have to have ice cream have low fat frozen yogurt or something instead. Most schools are pretty good at taking requests from students. I know a lot of people requested healthier options at my school and we have gotten them. Another thing i would suggest is joining a club sport. I play 3 at school, 2 of which i had never tried before. It has been a great way to make friends and stay active at the same time. I dont feel so bad if I have dessert once in a while after 2 hours of frisbee practice, 2 hours of ice hockey and an hour of figure skating. Also try to resist those late night pizza runs when you are out on the weekend, those are the worst!!! Hope this helps, I gained about 10 pounds my freshman year, but once i got into a routine I lost it all by the time I was a sophomore. | |||

| I have the same problem, i have never been a big eater, im very picky and get full really fast. It says my calorie intake should be around 1500 but then on top of that i burn at the very least 1000 calories per day working out and doing sports. My typical day is a bowl of cereal with sliced bananas for breakfast, a turkey sandwich on whole wheat for lunch, and then pasta and a salad for dinner. i usually drink around 2 nalgenes a day and sometimes a diet coke as well. for snacks i have a bowl of pineapple, and whole wheat toast with peanut butter. What do i do?? | |||

| hey i know how you feel. over the summer i didnt workout at all and i also ate very little, but i lost a lot of weight and looked great. when i went back to school i decided that i wanted to lose weight the healthy way. i eat around 1200 calories a day, everything that i eat is low fat, fat free, organic. i work out for about a half hour in the morning everyday, i play ultimate frisbee 5 days a week and figure skate 3 days a week. i also drink 1 or 2 nalgenes of water a day. so far in the last month ive gained 5 pounds!! and its not from muscle, the skinny jeans i bought this summer are now too small!! what should i do??? | |||
