Whats worked for me and my BF is to give each other space - and also positive feedback.  If I notice he looks thinner (even only a little) I'll let him know he is looking great.  Also, as extra incentive, when he gets under 200 we are going to his favorite restaurant.  If I'm going for a walk I always invite him, but if he doesn't want to go I don't make him feel bad about it. 

The reality may be that your husband will never be passionate about fitness and exercising in the way that you are.   I would say, be glad that his goal is to make you happy!  Not as ideal as him being motivated for himself, but the results are the same!

My fiance and i have totally different eating habits and schedules -he tends to eat one big meal in the evening, whereas I have eaten smaller meals all day, so eating pizza (or something else bad) will put me over 2000 calories for the day.  I just try to let him do his own thing and I do my own thing.  Overall, we are eating out a lot less and have both lost weight.  I have even gotten him to split pizza, chinese, etc with me - now that he realizes how little of it I am going to take!

I also agree with the others- a treat once a week or so is totally ok.  But if you are feeling pressured into it, I would suggest just letting your husband get pizza if he wants and make something else at home for yourself.

My guy works 3rd shift and myself 1st shift.  We have done this for a year and will probably do it for many more years and it really works great for both of us.  The job and schedule fits his peersonality best and we still see each other for an hour each day and on the weekends.  In our case both of us are quite independent.  You may find that not having him to rely on during the evenings may help you gain some independence and confidence to make some new friends and try some new things!  You can definately still make your relationship a priority while working different shifts!

I'm at 144.0 today, very slowly going down.

Cindy-  know what you are talking about!  Its so exciting when you see a low number but then so frustrating if it goes back up and maybe don't see that low number again for another week or 2!  Still - 2.5lbs lost is awesome!

I ended up around 1700-1900 calories on the weekend too.  Not my ideal - but still slightly under maintanence.  Its good to learn how to splurge now and then without gaining weight!

Not a creative idea - but I find if I am already at 1200-1300 calories when I get home, soup is pretty filing and generally 200-300 calories.  It is high in sodium though.  On the portable side I like baby carrots, granola bars, and my fav is to put a portion of Cheeze-its in a plastic baggie!  Again....high on sodium.

I've never managed to do 1200 calories.  About the minimum I've done is 1350...for one day.  I can totally see how it is doable, but I am not quite that organized or self controlled!  If someone offers a piece of chocolate I am definately going to take it!

144.2 this morning!   FINALLY broke under 145.  Hopefully this means I've broken the plateau and will start to lose steadilly again.  I'm Excited!Laughing

My weight didn't drop this week - still 145.0.  I know it will move down, just trying to be patient and stay diligent.

Cindy - How about just picking 2-3 beers and truly just tasting them?  That won't cause much of a stir.  Try not to draw attention to the fact that you aren't going to eat or drink much because then everyone will be on your case to eat/drink more ALL night - which will get old fast!  As far as yourself - remind yourself that you will have to log everything you eat and 1 piece isn't so bad, but 7 is!  I hope you have fun!

So I've average 1450 calories the last 3 days, how is this week going for the rest of you?

I'm doing a happy hour tomorrow and a pizza thing on Friday so hopefully I can keep things reasonable!

urbandecaay - to get to 145 I having been tracking everything I eat at least 5 days a week and sticking to 1500 calorries, and trying to make sure the 1-2 cheat days a week do not go above 2000.  I haven't been perfect but just make sure to keep going.  I've been stuck at 145-147 for the past 3 weeks so I think I need to be a bit more careful from this point on.  Now I am trying to Average 1500 calories day, so 1400 some, 1600 others, and hopefully that will get me to start losing again.

Strength training is just a vague term for lifting weights, situps, squats, etc...  I haven't made a super organized effort by I try to do something 2-3 days a week for about 20-30 minutes.

How about you?  What has worked for you?

Wow!  I am right there with all of you! I'm 5'4.5 and 145-146 right now and am 24 years old.   think my end goal will be 130, but I'll see how I feel along the way.  I started at 158 in February so I need the extra motivation now!

Also trying to do 1500 calories a day.  For exercise, I walk 3-5 miles a day and do some strength training.  I'll be going back to college in the fall and I *hope* I'll take advantage of the free gym then!

    My challenge start weight was 152, and I hit 145 this morning - so 7lbs by May 24th!  My goal for July 4th is 138 - 140.  Once I get there all of my 'skinny' clothes should fit great!

    I hope everyone has fun this weekend AND stays on track!  Not easy but we can do it!

    Have lots of fun on your vacation Olivia!!!  Enjoy a few special treats!

    I saw 145.something for 2 days and then TTOM hit.  Hopefully it will come back down for next Friday!!  I am glad we are keeping this going!  I am going to visit my family out east on July 10th so I am excited for them to see the change!  The last time my siblings saw me I was at 160 so if I can make it to 140 by July 4 that would be sooo awesome!

    Just eat less of the same food!  It'll actually save money!  You can have a frozen pizza or ramen, etc, just share it with someone else instead of eating the whole thing on your own.  I started first just aiming to hit 1500 calories every day (you have to find the # right for you) and then as time went on I started thinking about the health factor of the food, but the number of calories is the most important part for losing weight.

    Good Luck!  And beware the office treats if you end up in an office!

    Not a big loss but i am happy to lose any!  I started off the week great, eating healthy, lots of walking.  Then some stressful things came up at work and I totally stress ate.  I thought I was over that, but I guess  the right trigger can still get me to eat junk.  Anyways, today is a new day and I am making sure to stay on track!  Good luck to everyone!

    Hey, thanks for the helathy ideas!

    I am still at 148.  I did realllly good on Sun-Tues and then some major things came up at work and I totaly stress ate the last 2 days.  It was just disappointing because I thought I had moved beyond that, but I guess sometimes the right trigger comes along....

    Anyways, good luck to the rest of you weighing in!

    Thanks for the idea thinthought!  I like that it is quick to do too!

    Olivia- just treats to bring in too be nice.  I actually I feel way behind because I haven't been bringing anything to share since I don't want to bring junk! 

    Stephie - I also have IBS, and have found small meals are great.  For me some other main things are no acidy fruit for breakfast, nothing fried, and going easy on dairy.  Caffeine doesn't seem to bother me too much.  I hope you find the best mix for you!  My BF says that I can't eat anything interesting or flavorful, but I feel like I have a wide range of 'safe' options!

    I would love to have some 70 or 80 degree weather!!  But yeah, you just have to do what your body can do and not stress about whether that is faster or slower than last week because weather can play a major role in how your body performs.

    So far this week I have stuck to 1400 calories and have walked 1-2 hours a day so i am hoping I will at least see a 1 lb drop from last Friday!  AND No Candy this Week!  I found that I couldn't have just one piece and then ignore it the rest of the day-there is candy all over the office!  Its funny how everyone talks about wanting to be healthier and lose weight and then bring in lots of candy and treats for everyone to eat!  Its just become the office thing to do, and it is too bad. 

    Anyone have any healthy treat ideas that I could bring in to share with the office?    Perhaps I can start a new trend.

    Challange sw is 148!  My offical goal by july 4th is 138, but I really just plan on taking it one week at a time and hope to end each week weighing less than it started!

    Last week 148.8, this week 148.0

    Not a big change, but I have been very consistantly 148 - no dips up into the 150s!  I am super happy and can't wait to see 147.

    I hope everyone else is still pushing on!

    amaresmom- keep on trying!!  It sucks to lose momentum, but the most important thing in the long run is to just keep on going and keep on trying!  YOU CAN DO IT!!!

    kpersons - congrats on losing a lb and the great grades! 

    Everything is going so-so for me.  I am keeping the calories around 1500 which is great, but I'm getting bored.  I need to look up some new recipes and buy some fun fruit like strawberries to keep motivated!
