159.0 this morning!!!!! down .8lbs lol.. 5lbs until my 1st mini goal! ( ihave a million little goal it makes me feel less defeated and makes it seem easier to achieve) i love the elliptical!! when i lived home i used it allll the time! such a good workout and super low impact! yeah i have. i havent really changed up my eating. my calorie intake is perfectly acceptable i eat around 1440-1600 NOT including what i burn if i didnt factor in the 500-800 burnt its like 2200-2400. which seems like a lot but isnt when given my burn rate.
ugh i hear ya - ive been in that mode before too. i usually tend not to excersise when im not eating. the only sucky thing about it that i find is when i dont eat i gain weight when i do eventually start eating regularly. hopefully you are able to maintain it! well its inevitable youll lose some muscle mass along with fat def. start strengthing!! |

amazingly enough i ate sooo much yesterday and did nooo excersise (didnt count so i dont have an estimate but based on the candy , cookies, cake, pizza etc i know its was over 2000) and am down to 159.8?!?!?! ill take it lol.
so for my workouts i usually do an hour of walking- and in it do intervals of jogging- i also will do a yoga dvd at night every other day - the stationary bike for 1/2 hour once/twice a week and weights every other day followed by callesthenics-ie; crunches push-ups (dunno how to spell). my job is also pretty active too. i spend most of my day walking back and forth from store end to store end. i burn roughly 800 cals. on active days and 500 on not as active days. |

it depends on how much you are working out. eating 1200 is the bare minimum- which could stall out your metabolism esp. when youre adding excersise to the equation. 1344 would be for sedentary days where youre not doing too much just daily things. id probably up it by 100-200 cals. when working out- and vary the excersises up a bit. you burn more calories the more you weigh- and you wont feel as hungry by upping. and it will keep your metabolism blazing- thats the most crucial in weight loss- |

aamnasultan- possibly... or you might just need to spice up the excersise- switch it up a bit. dont eat lower than 1200. whats your weigh and stats? you could be already at a healthy weight and just losing slow- that ususlly happens if you are already within the right weight range for your height/age/body type. multiply youre goal weight by 12 and eat that its a pretty rough estimate and it should be on par if youre goal weight is a reasonable one. obv. if youre under 5'0 its not very accurate though- instead of walking try spurts of jogging or walking with weights... |

eat more. figure out what youre burning excersising and raise youre caloric intake as needed- youre eating what a sedentary person eats. you are moderately active. |

id love to buddy up. i am also an emotional eater. (which im starting to get under control now that i know) im 23 5'5 and need to lose about 30lbs my current weight is 165.4. so its not ridiculous. i just hope to lose it by the end of may which is very reasonable.
i am the same way with logging cals. as long as im diligent i dont have a problem. i usually make a menus for each day the night before, and plan dinners out for the week, i find it makes everything a lot easier- it also allows me to make sure im getting adequate fruits/veggies/nutrients that i need. |

eating 1200-1300 the weight will come off at a decent rate- i cant tell you for sure b/c it differs from person to person... i know!!! i never thought about anything either!! never even crossed my mind.
i did a little jazz, ballet/pointe |

you and me both this is prob. the largest ive really been in my life. i used to be pretty slender esp. when i danced. now ill be happy with even a loss of a lb a week. 1500's not bad if youre not being to active its prob. ok to cut down 100-200 cals. but dont do 984 lol way too low. sure youll lose weight but it will mess up what you have going and prob. spur a binge which is totally counter productive |

awesome! good luck to you! anything below 1200 is too low- even 1300 if youre being super active. id keep them lower if you dont do anything all day and add few depending upon your your level of activity. how many cals are you eating currently? |

i know i love quinoa!! i do get adequate grains and fiber and all that jazz - it would be bad if i did it on the regular , every once in a while its not bad at all. i asked my doctor this morning when i had my physical and she said it wasnt a problem- you shouldnt force it if you arent hungry and its not like i make a habit of it just one of those full days when i was dancing i had a deficit of 1500 cals on most days-granted i ate prob. about a billion calories though lol. but i was super in shape. i think i might join an aerobics class its such a good form of excersise tones everything |

well yesterday my meals were breakfast: coffee and a banana Snack: yogurt and melon, tea Lunch: chicken, pasta salad with olive oil raw tomatoes, peppers, and onions Snack: apple, and a few pita chips with hummus Dinner: steak, salad, and broccoli Snack: 1 cup milk and a carnation breakfast it ended up being 1222 with like a 700 calories burn but i was so full- so i didnt force anything down a day or 2 like that wont do any harm.
i usually try to get a few fruits in, veggies, dairy, and various forms of protein whether its from meat, veggie burgers, tofu etc. i try to balance things out. prynzcessd: i guess maybe every saturday/sunday- whatever works for you! thats a good excersise regimen. but i dont know how you manage to eat that little if youre active!! id pass out lol. i only eat that if im sitting around the house all day doing nothing lol. also good for you!! im glad our weights our similar it makes it pretty easy to stay motivated!! good luck too. it sounds like youre doing good! |

yeah it doesnt bother me too much. i dont look hideous or anything lol. it depends on how active i am- if im super sendentary about 1250 and based on my activities/exercise anywhere from 1400-1600. today i did a lot of walking at work and my intake for the day was a little low(1222) but i ate a lot of protein today(81g) so i feel sooo full and im sure through out the week it will all plan out! |

thanks!! these responses help a lot. and yes knowing is definitely a huge step in the right direction. when i emotional eat its not like i go to veggies or anything healthy its usually ice cream, cookies, cake etc. so clearing my cupboards of that is a must. im actually going to do that right after i post !!
yeah 1lb is very doable and wont make me feel defeated- i just need to re-vamp my snacking - which i already knew- it just helps to hear other similar situations and what works for you. its totally encouraging!! |

yes men do lose a lot quicker than woman b/c they naturally have more muscle mass and testosterone- and it cant totally be demoralizing - you should talk to her though - she should understand the above reasons. |
