okay, this is right up there with that red-meat-will-kill-you article.

But did you read the article and not just the heading??

Fitness The jiggle under the arms and above the booty. Mar 27 2009

Firstly, you cannot turn fat into muscle - they are two completely seperate entities!  You burn fat and you build muscle, which is what I am assuming you want to do.

To be honest, to get rid of the 'jiggle' you need to start lifting some weights, and contrary to popular belief you will not turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger by lifting anything over 8lbs.  Below is an article for a total body workout and will give you a great workout without spending hours in they gym.

Belated Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Recipes St. Patricks Day! Mar 06 2009
15:33 (UTC)

Just so you know, the traditional Irish meal is Bacon (not corned beef!) & cabbage (and the cabbage has to be cooked in the bacon water) served with nice floury potatoes and veg (eg carrots & parsnips, turnip, etc)

Why not try Irish stew:

Serves 4 (divides in half or doubles easily)

Ingredients

1/2 kilo (250g) lamb, cut into 1 inch cubes
4 carrots, peeled and left whole
2 onions, sliced finely
Pearl barley - two handfuls
1 chicken or vegetable stock cube, made up in a pint of hot water
4 large potatoes, cut into 2 inch chunks
Salt and pepper

Directions

1. Sprinkle the lamb with salt and pepper.
2. Heat the oil, and fry the lamb until it is browned.
3. Take the lamb out onto a plate, and add the onions to the pan and fry until they are soft and translucent (add more oil if you need to, scraping up the bits off the bottom of the pan).
4. Put the lamb back in, with the rest of the ingredients except the potatoes.
5. Cook for half an hour, then add the potatoes. Top up with water if it needs it.
6. Cook until the potatoes and pearl barley are cooked and the meat is soft.
7. Serve in bowls with brown bread, sprinkled with chopped fresh parsley.

To be honest, the first thing I will say is dont rush into it.

Find a design, and be sure that you want it.  I found mine on a necklace (bought the necklace) and had it for a year before I finally got the tattoo done.  You may think thats wierd but as I read before "the tattoo is like a friend for life and its always going to be there".

Secondly, go to a reputable tattoo parlor.  Have any of your friends tattoos - if so ask for recommendations.

Like a previous poster said, make sure its well hidden.  Just imagine you were getting married (not sure if you are or not), you probably wouldnt want your tattoo showing - well I know I wouldnt anyways.

Well long story short, he has his own house.  ANd the only room that didnt get decorated is the box room - which is the one that I will be decorating.  have the colours picked out so just need to tidy out the room tonight (give rid of his shoes and the x-mas decorations etc!) and I'll be ready to start tomorrow!

As for the moving in, that will happen before the end of the year.

Not sure why, I suppose the fact that its processed etc.

The flat by the coast sounds lovely!!!  My plan is to do up the spare room in the house - the way I want it hee hee!!  It will give me something to do, plus I'll be able to stretch my artistic ability - havent used it since school but would love to get back into it!!

glad dinner was nice!!  am only getting into the quorn sausages myself.  Usually prefer the chicken style stuff although I had stopped using it completely for a while coz ppl in the veg forum were saying that it wasnt good.

Plan on having a hard session in the gym tomorrow.  Staying at the bf's so will have the house to myself while hes at work for the next few days.  Also looking forward to spending more time with him.  will be strange seeing him everyday though (we live about an hour from each other).

    Hey all,

this muffin recipe is evry high in fibre. As I am vegetarian, I have altered it.  I put in Tofu instead of eggs.  Made these before.  I put in a load more fruit than the recipe called for so it ended up being really sweet.  Delicious healthy desert or snack!!

Hey British Vixen, like you my calories have been terrible, but the exercise has gone pretty well!!  Did 2 spin classes last week, as well as 2 sessions at the gym.  This week so far have 1 spin class done and some swimming.  Doing an aerobic and spin class tonight and another spin class tomorrow - well thats the plan anyways.  Looking forward to the fibre challange, as I really want to up my fibre.

Afauvel, have you tried the BRAT diet??  Now this is only something to be used by people that are sick (from either end lol!!) and contains bland foods that are meant to be easy on the stomach.  Its just a thought.

    Hope you feel better soon!!

Rachel, congrats on the job!!!  And pass some of that bubbley over here  lol !!

Jayne, firstly, you were perfectly right to put that woman back in her place!!  And do not hesitate to file that complaint with the police if she even looks at Kiki!!  Secondly, sorry about your mum, but I am glad to hear that she is ok!

Sarah, yeah the flash flooding is starting to subside, and thankfully I was never affected.  Athough my dad rang me on Saturday night to make sure I got down to my boyfriend's ok (the rain was terrible that day, warnings on the radio and everything!) Bless him!!  No word much on the news about the floods apart from call to the government to get off the a$$es and do something about it!!!

Jenna, I have no doubt that you will be hitting that number yourself very soon!!  As for the carbs, I think you should listen to your body.  If you feel fine and dont find yourself exhausted, then I would say keep doing what your doing - that is as long as your carbs arent too low (like only 20%).

Katie, hope your open evening went well.  It can be exhausting just meeting people.  I was at a Horse Show where my company had a stall (promoting our products), and I can tell you that every evening I was exhausted and only fit for bed!!  So take care of yourself!!

So how is everyone doing today??  I'm so glad its Friday.  Havent really had any holidays this year and need a few days off, so I'm taking a few days off in the beginning of September - I cant wait!!!

Tigzy, your on for the abs challange (I'm assuming that they are all not straight situps - that we can mix it up ie crunches, bike, obliques etc.)  As for the water challange, I need to get my water back up to 3 lts - so your on!!  BTW, dont think I could manage to drink 3 lts all at once unless I ate a plate of chillis or something  LOL!!

Jayne, OMG!!!  Sorry but thats all that I can say!!  That woman has some cheek, and the nerve she had to go and actually have the power of attorney drawn up BEFORE talking to you or Kiki's dad!!

I think that it might be an idea to talk to your brother and see what he says.  What did Kiki make of this??  Was she a willing participant??

well I hope that the stress levels have come down for you!!!

Rachael, how did your interview go?

Tigzy, Well done on getting into those skinny jeans!!  And funnily enough, I found when I lost weight before I went from a size 5 shoe to a size 4 too!!

Safiyah, congrats on getting into your skinny jeans too!!  Its always nice when someone notices when you've lost weight!

I gave away my skinny jeans to my sister coz they got too big for me a few months ago.  So no skinny jeans gloat for me  :(  lol.

    Anyone heard from Paul??

Eating has been pretty good, apart from Monday, but I've definately made up for it!!  Heading to the gym again tonight for another spin class - they are a real killer but I feel sooooo good afterwards!!  Looking forward to getting on the scales tomorrow.  Is it wierd to think that I actually feel thinner??!! even though I am TOM??

BTW: Has anyone got a challange for the coming week??

Like you, I decided up up my food intake to help heal my metabolism, so I know how you feel when you said that you are finding it hard to eat all that food.

The one thing that I found that helped me is to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day.  So if you are aiming to eat 1700 cals a day, that equates to 340cal per meal (1700 / 5) which in my experience makes the calorie intake more manageable.  Personally I eat a bigger breakfast (about 600cals) and a lighter tea dinner.

PS: Like you I love my spuds!!!  Especially the new potatoes!!
