Hey everyone...had some computer issues yesterday...anyway, came in at 131 on weigh-in day. I have been bad, not working out like I should be and only watching what I eat during the week, and I'm still not going up...I'm surprised, but in a good way. I do need to kick up the workouts though. |

So considering I didn't count calories for a week and only got in 2 workouts: P90X yoga on Sunday and ran 3 miles yesterday, I was almost sure the scale wouldn't be kind to me. Instead, I weighed in at 132 this morning. Even with TTOTM creeping up in a couple of days. I've never been into the "numbers" on the scale, but I think this is good: keeping a weekly log of what my body is up to. Amy - Congrats!!!! It sounds like you're doing awesome. Welcome to the 130's. With the way you're going, you'll break into the 120's in no time. Greeneyed - I'm with you on stepping it up this week. And like Amy said, at least you didn't gain, so that's good.

Slimby - Let's do this!!! 5lbs by Thanksgiving! Glad to have you in here for support :) Raynsong - Wow, awesome to hear about your mom's accomplishments! Hope your ankle gets better too! Ok...Day 1, weighed in at 132.5 this morning. Which is less than I expected. But hey, if I can dip into the 120's by Thanksgiving I'll be happy. I took in about 1,800 cals yesterday, but also did a P90X legs/back workout, so I think it was a good start to the next 3 weeks. |

This sounds completely doable. I'm in. I like the Thursday weigh in idea. I have pretty much been in maintenance mode through the end of the summer and just started slowing down on my workouts. So I'm hoping to get back into it and having a forum like this to hold us accountable for the next 3 weeks should work. I'm 5'5.5 and weigh between 130-134. I'll weigh in tomorrow on our first official weigh in day. How's this gonna work? Should we check in daily? Weekly? |

Hi girls, just wanted to take a quick second to pop in and say hi as I finish my lunch in my office. Mar - good luck with the test!!!! i hope it all works out for you and you DO end up spending Christmas in the U.S. Is there a specific school, city or state you're looking at moving to? do you have family out here already? Stefanie - i already pm'd you about my thoughts on that stupid trainer test, and glad you're not taking what he said as facts. you KNOW you're doing so much better and in much better health than that dumbie made you out to be. Angela - i laughed at your hyper post : ) and 40% body fat? come on! i'm glad you didn't buy that (or his training sessions, for that matter) Where's everyone else? So, I am supposed to be getting together with Karen and Mandy for our weekly (even though we didn't meet last week) hang out session. When we first started it was a weekly workout session. It somehow turned into a happy hour session LOL I was good this week and said no drinks, just a workout. Luckily the girls were feeling the same way so we're goign to try and do a P90X workout tonight. Wish us luck! Happy Hump Day y'all. |

yes, i've been on that on and off since i was about 11 since i have iron deficiency anemia. did she tell you a number when she said "a little low"? either way, one thing you should know when taking iron is that it may constipate you...i know...gross. but most people i've encountered who take an iron supplement complain about this. so what i do is make sure i get at least 30g of fiber a day. it definitely helps. |

Tabby, I'm with Angela, I love chicken recipes and am always up for trying new ones, so thanks for that! Angela and Stefanie - I'm so addicted to those sara lee sandwich thins. And only 100 cals total. Love that. Stefanie - I am a huge TO fan...which I get jokes about all the time. I dunno, I just love his cockiness. But yes, I think he's seen his last days. He can't catch a damn ball these days. You're right, your team isn't looking so good, especially this week with Moss on a by. Girl, look at my team! It's been about 7 seasons since they haven't let me down...but I'm holding out hopes...I don't know why with a quarterback like JaMarcus! Anyway, I'm probably heading to Oakland next month for a game, I think I'm getting tix to the game against Kansas City where at least I'll see a win. Nope, didn't get a workout in last night, didn't make it home til almost 10pm. Visited my best friend and her new baby. Tonight I'm off to a movie, I'm still trying to catch Couples Retreat. |

Tabby, Welcome! I'm with the other girls in saying that you've done an awesome job with all the weight loss! So glad to have you on here. For the most part, we are all here to listen to each other during happy and proud times, then we're to vent about our not so happy, plateau, bad eating days. I agree with Stefanie (lossfast) that mixing up your current routine, either through your calorie intake and/or workouts, to try to get out of your current plateau. Maybe your body needs something different to mix it up. Good luck and glad to have you join us! Stefanie - decent team you got there, you're right, McNaab isn't producing much points for you, which I didn't mind when my team, Raiders, played them :) Angela - mmmm that pecan crusted chicken sounds tasty! i think i will give it a try, too. good luck at the gym today. I had a nice run at the gym last night, did some reverse crunches and squats and can feel my abs a little sore today, which is nice. Hope I can get back in there tonight since it's the last night this week I'll have a chance to workout. Happy hump day y'all! |

Mandy - No way, what kinda gym is that? So not cool! Glad you only got tempted by one cookie. Being at my girl's house last night, filled with all the goodies and food we all brought for comfort, I didn't do too bad either. Stefanie - Oh yeah, I got so into the "boob" topic I forgot to address the football one :) Yes, I'm totally into football but didn't do Fantasy this year. Who are your top players on your fantasy team? |

Hola chicas! Happy Tuesday. Kinda dead here, what's up with that! Here's my excuse, it's been a crazy weekend...as follows: Friday night my man and I met up with Mandy and her guy for dinner/drinks at this awesome Sushi Restaurant/Club/Lounge in Downtown L.A. Had a great time, lots of drinks...some of us more than others ; ) I wake up Saturday morning to my best friend's husband telling me they're scheduling her for an emergency c-section (she was a couple of days overdue and baby was not positioning herself right). Spent Saturday at the hospital with a healthy baby and mom. Saturday I get a call from a close friend saying her mom just suffered a stroke. She died the next day. I grew up with this family, so it's hitting pretty hard. I spent last night with her eating and comforting her and helping set up the services this week. Aside from that....well, what else can I say other than work continues to kick my butt! Mandy - how was your workout last night? Karen - how's the visit up north with the fam. going???? Stefanie - don't worry about the boob thing. mine are feeling better and back to normal, which sucks in a way because I kinda liked them swollen :) now it's got me pondering a boob job! i'd look killer with a D cup! hahahaha It turns out I got my TOTM 8 days early, so it was PMS symptoms triggering the boob stuff with me. Hope the rest of you are doing great. I'll pop back in a little later. Damn it...I skipped breakfast and now I'm starving. I hate when that happens. I'm going to end up stuffing my face at lunch. |

Ladies, I'm here! Just poppin' in quick to say hello and check in. It's been crazy with work, I have a new legal secretary that started 2 weeks ago and a paralegal who started yesterday, so between getting them set up and trained and keeping up with my workload, it's been nuts. I'm sitting here eating some leftover tamales that somebody made (i wish i remembered who it was so i could thank them!) and have a couple of minutes to say hi. Heidi - Welcome :) and I'm glad you re-thought the 1000 cal thing. when I first read that I thought "oh no....there's your problem right there". You sound like you want to do what's right and be healthy, cheers to that! Stef - you sounds like you're doing great, even with the sore legs! awesome. keep up the good work, and i'm glad you're not sweating the 2 lb thing, soooo not a big deal and more than likely IS water weight. Mar - the wedding sounds nice! and i'm glad to hear that you won't be doing the gym alone much longer. i love having someone to workout with, that always keeps me a little more motivated. Candice - Welcome to our little group! ugh, i don't about that 8lb gain. that just can't be right. stay on track for the next week, re-weigh yourself, and maybe you'll be back to normal? if not, i'd blame the scale because seriously, i don't think you could've taken in that many cals. How tall are you by the way? Karen and Mandy - Where you girls at???? I need an active day this week, workout????? Alright...I'll try to check in maybe later tonight from home! |

That's awesome Mar! Glad you made it through 20 minutes on the treadmill. It's so different the way you describe your culture and your country, I can't imagine having to hide anything about myself. Thanks for pointing that out because more often than not, I forget how lucky we are here and how much we take for granted. I hope you continue with your plans to make it out to this country for school. You sound like you need the change. We obviously didn't workout last night. But we weren't too bad...at least I don't think we were! We did eat some killer garlic fries that I could still taste this morning after brushing my teeth twice lol And guess what........IT'S FRIDAY! |

Mar - thanks for sharing so much about yourself with us! and thank you for the compliments. its's funny, i would say my hair is my worst feature, but i guess it just photographed well! the pic in white was taken in july, the pic in black was taken in june. yes, i would definitely classify my body as curvey too. totally not a "skinny" girl. Stefanie - props to you on the willpower for going to bed even though you felt like snacking! i did that last night too! i'm telling you, you're a machine, even with sore legs you're still squatting. your body will definitely enjoy the rest this weekend. Angela - it's funny, lately i've been thinking and writing more about food. what's up with that? i never realized how (now that i'm back with my boyfriend) i focus so much on eating great meals. i was just giving him a hard time about losing my gym and eating right focus since we've been back together. So I hit the gym last night and ran my 3.5 miles. I felt great. Why can't I just do it every day? Tonight Mandy, Karen and I are meeting up at my place downtown and heading to happy hour. We'll be thinking/talking about you girls while sipping our cocktails. I wish you all were closer to us so you could join in! |

Ms. Tyner - Yes, happy hour tomorrow. Downtown L.A. Meet at my place so we can all head out together? I'm game for either. Mar - I'm 5'5.5...so yes, i agree, the half inch IS important! Where do you live? I gather you're across many seas if it's almost 2am. And tell us a bit about yourself if you don't mind :) Getting ready to call it a day. I think the rain has stopped for now, so my drive home shouldn't be too bad. Stuffed my face with lots of sashimi at lunch..and grilled chicken and salmon. I only have about 500 cals left for the day and I will use them on a post-workout protein shake and 3 glasses of wine..you know, the important stuff. |

I totally agree with both DPLATZER and PBEAR99. What an invasion of privacy and humiliating, whether you're overweight or under. I went through something like this in 6th grade and STILL remember the day. I was very skinny but never saw myself too different from everyone else. I weighed in at 55 pounds. It was embarrasing. Ally - I'd trust the home scale. Don't get down on yourself! |

Slimby - YOu know what, I've heard that too about having some type of deficiency that makes me crave salt. I am trying to work on it though. Last night, I didn't touch the salt once :) Here's the link to C25K. You can do it on the treadmill, that's where I do most, if not all, of my running these days. http://www.c25k.com/ Mandy - Hope you're back now and that you had a safe drive with this yucky weather. So I only had 2 glasses of red wine last night, 2 slices of spinach n cheese pizza and I started off with a caprese salad to ensure I'd get full quick. Not too bad, at the end of the day I did tally in 1900 cals, but nothing I won't work off or adjust for today... Happy Hump Day y'all. |

Hi Mar!!! Welcome to our little group :) We're all here with somewhat different goals, but all leaning toward being healthy and fit. Just by reading your post I see I have a few things in common with you! I'm pretty much going toward the way I "feel" but also tend to fluctuate between 128 and 134. Ideally I'd love to say "I'm 120lbs.", but really, a fit and buff 135 would be great too! My worst diet offender (aside from alcohol!) is SALT. I add to everything. I even add it to my potato chips. Yup. It's true. Just when I got home yesterday I had one of my fave meals/snacks: flamin hot cheetos, lots of lime, tapatio and sprinkle 'em with lost of salt. Gross? I think it's delicious! Karen, I'd LOVE To be cozy at home :( I'm sitting in my office and keep looking out my window to see how dreary it is out there. Stef, yeah, you should prob. stay off the legs if you're already feeling the pain, especially since you've had issues with the splintz before. maybe hit some upper body workouts for the next couple days? So..I'm meeting 2 of my girlfriends for pizza and beer after work. Well, only 2 of us are having the beer, the other is 9 mos. pregnant and says she's been feeling contractions all day but still wants to hang out lol I told her that I have a feeling we'll be eating pizza at the hospital. I'll keep y'all posted. |

Stefanie! Your workouts are sounding great. Keep up the good work and again, thanks for the inspiration. I sure need it. I just can't shake this wave of fatique I'm feeling, even popped a sleeping pill at 9pm last night to just knock me out. I do feel slightly more energized today, so that's good Slimby, that is awesome! A 5k! Did you ever try the C25K program? I hear great things about it and it helped me with my 5k time a bit. Ugh..the weather is gross out here. I know, we're in L.A. so we're spoiled by not really having to suffer through severe winters or crazy storms, but we have what L.A weather people are calling a "severe storm" today and tomorrow. Which basically means "light rain". Either way, I don't like it. Is it too early for me to already be missing summertime???? |

Happy monday ladies! I think Mandy is out of town today and tomorrow, hopefully she's checking in anyway :) Karen - yes, let's try to get a workout in this week! i'm free Wed., and I think Mandy wanted to do happy hour on Thurs, right? or we can skip it and do a workout? Stefanie - your workout sounded awesome. you're a machine! getting that body ready for the nice big boobs! wooohoooo... and i actually just went to my first texas roadhouse in april! i was visiting my girlfriend in atlanta and she used to bartend there, so we swung by. food was great! i didn't do too bad and had somekind of skewers served over a bed of rice. tasty. Angela - hope you had a good weekend and that you got a spinning or workout session in! My weekend was nice. Very chill drinks and apps in little tokyo on Friday. Went for a nice hike with my boy on Saturday and treated him to a pedicure afterward for keeping up :) then we had an awesome lunch with bottomless mimosas, which turned into an evening of bar hopping and drinks. took it easy and watched football at home on Sunday, then ordered some bbq. I decided I could be bad and have the bbq since it was the only meal I ate that day. So besides the nice hike, I didn't do anything else that was too active. can't wait to get home and hit the gym tonight! Hope you all had a wonderfule weekend.

Stefanie - Hmmm...the only thing they do at the Dr's office to test it out is to stuff a bra with water filled pockets to give you the idea of what they'll look like at a certain size, but that doesn't really show what you'll look like topless lol Angela - I love that sweaty feeling you just described. I know it's gross, but I feel soooo accomplished when done. Sounds like you're doing pretty great, keep it up! Stef / Ang - yeah, I am VERY open minded when it comes to food. i love escargot and foie gras and will prob. try something funky tonight again since we've decided to check out new spots in downtown l.a tonight. Mandy - clean out your mailbox, it's full! Also...awesome on getting your workout in last night. I did not. Actually, not since Wed. morning. But I clocked in only 1400 cals yesterday to make up for the lack of workout. Anybody doing anything exciting this weekend? |

Mandy - aside from the beers, your night sounded crumby. hope you feel better. i'm pretty sure after your gym and detox you'll be feeling great, and that should help you sleep better tonight. Stefanie - sorry to hear about your boob situation, see, i guess we're all having boob problems! I live in L.A., so augmentations are the norm around here. My best friend did the same as you and wanted to have her kids before getting hers. she went from an A to a DD. i DO NOT suggest doing that. any good doctor will tell you that if you're that small to begin, anything bigger than a small C will look ridiculous and probably not fit appropriately in the "pocket". I love my best friend, but even now 5 years later I still don't think they look right. On the other hand, my college roomate is a tiny girl, about 5'1 and 100lbs. She was always an A and went with a full B. She looks AMAZING and they look real and perfect. I like that you're going with what's good for your size/frame. Oh, by the way, the last day of my "." last month was 9/18, so I'm not too scared. (...or am I???? LOL) Karen - your work week sounds whack! i'm telling you, come to corporate america and work with me :) Speaking of, I just got a temp in a about 30 mins. ago to replace the temp who's last day is Monday. So far, first impression is good. Seems intelligent and has 20+ years of experience, that's always good! Wish me luck with this one! |

Nice to see you pop in again Angela! I'm the same when it comes to shoes. The way I see it, it's an investment. I can still wear many of the shoes I've had for years because they're "good" shoes, you know? Mandy - that's a nice little running shoe investment you made there, so now you'll have to make them worth it by putting them to use OFTEN. Can't wait to check out the new sneaks. So we went to the gastropub last night and we've been wanting to try a lot of the exotic meats. I had been told that the rattlesnake is best, but they are always out when I'm there. Finally, they had a nice fresh shipment in yesterday and I was able to have it! It was delish! It's rattlesanke and rabbit sausage with jalapeno peppers. So good. My guy had the Alligator which was totally tasty too. Since he spent the night, we were up early and I was able to get in a quick 30 min. elliptical session before coming to the office. Feeling pretty good this morning. P.S. boobs are still mad sore! |

Stef! Ha! We posted at the same time again. Damn you both about the prego thing. We've been really good about safety. Well... mostly good... I suffered from the shin splintz too because of cheering high school. And Stef, you're right, staying off them for a bit is what helped and now I rarely feel the pain. |

LOL @ Mandy. I haven't had that homeless thing happen to me just yet. My roomate and I even walked into Chinatown last night during halftime (Monday Night Football) and we were fine. What burger place did you guys go to??? And no...I soo don't think I'm prego! Don't jinx me. Stef and Mandy - you guys are making me feel DUMB about the $100 shoe thing. The only time I spend less than that is when I buy flip flops :( And then I wonder where all my money goes.......... Have I mentioned I need a good legal secretary with some litigation experience and possibly corporate law experience?!? This week is going to suck at work. As you can see, I'm so not motivated to work and am lounging around this forum lol |

Hey ladies! I'm here, Stefanie! Just had a little bit of a hectic day yesterday. In the midst of getting this new temp trained on what I need, she tells me her last day on contract is Monday, so we'll be needing a replacement. You would think in an economy like ours people would be wanting to fill this legal secretary position! And trust me, it pays extremely well for a sec. job. Anyway, this temp was nice but prob. not my first choice anyway. So yeah, busy Monday. As for the weekend, I got no excercise in...and probably didn't eat GREAT. We ate out both Sat. and Sun., but only one meal each day and lil snacks here and there, so not terrible damage. But with football season, it's like beer and wings every week. Mandy - Ugh!!!! Sorry to hear about your minor setback. We really need to start holding ourselves accoutable for the damage we do. I am not gonna lie, I weighed myself this morning after not working out since Thurs. 132 :( See you tomorrow for our workout. Stefanie - Freakin' awesome about the 2lbs!!!!! And a size 9 in juniors already, that is GREAT. And thanks for that sparkspeople link, I checked it out yesterday and found a good lasagna recipe! I don't know why but I've been wanting to make lasagna recently, and not the traditional kind, a different white seafood lasagna. Doesn't that sound good? Or maybe it's just me lol Jodi - where you at girl! I hope you're MIA because you're busy out running that reservoir or something and hope that you're not feeling down about that scale not budging last week. how was your weekend? Slimby - everything I said to Jodi above except substitue the reservoir part with spinning :) Well...this is weird but I feel like sharing anyway, my boobs are feeling crazy sore. This usually happens the week before TTOM, but I'm not due for almost 3 weeks. What is that all about? Sorry if its tmi. Anyway, the boy and I are hitting that German Pub I mentioned a while back. We love it there. Tons of beers, very hip and trendy downtown l.a crowd, dj spinning, and nothing but sausage...as in hot dogs! So I've compensated for that by eating a decent breakfast and packed myself some lunch. And I'm sure I'll be getting in a little "workout" tonight too :) |

Rfsams - I didn't know that about Sansai! I have one just a couple of blocks from my office and have yet to stop in. I have my "regular" sushi spots that I've been going to for years and have never felt like straying, but after your post, I think I will swing by today/tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up! |

Slimby - ahhh, Denver. I've actually never been. I may be going for the first time later this year for the Raider/Bronco game.... Yeah, I totally overdid it at lunch yesterday, but made up for it the rest of the day. Jodi - I love Jackie Warner! I have never actually done her dvd workouts, but I was HOOKED on her reality(scripted, of course, as they all are) WORKOUT on Bravo. Yes, I'm a reality tv junkie. Some of these shows are just so ridiculous you can't help but watch....and get hooked. So sad. So we're doing our hike again today and I'm pumped because I definitely feel like running some trails. Last night I finally made it to the gym (I think I was feeling guilty about my thousand calorie lunch!). I ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill then cooled down with a 15 minute elliptical session. Although that probably only burned about 700 cals, that should put a dent in the damage I did. Here's to another active day for me! It's almost Friday ladies :) |

Slimby - LOL @ making a tod list, for your list. Yes, right by Mandy's home is a nice secluded canyon/fire road area. Good trails with some residential so it doesn't feel too secluded. Ahh, so you were a 24hour member too! Where did you say you live again? So yeah....I wasn't great at lunch. LOL But to my defense, my girl is not coming over until much later tonight, which means i will definitely work out. I was feeling antsy so I went and had a solo lunch and spend time with me... ended up having two beef tacos, side salad, and a sangria carafe. Yes. I said carafe. So good. Must workout tonight! |

Well, we went for our hike last night and my tummy was killing me :( So I didn't get to run at all. That made me realize that I need to get my eating back in check. It seems we all suffer from this; trying to keep it clean. Especially when we start doing so well, we just kinda think it's "ok" to start eating bad again. So that's what I'm watching out for now, my cals again. I haven't been logging in a couple of weeks and I always do my best when I make myself accountable for all I eat, so I'm back at logging today. Jodi - this time we stayed at Hooters :) I've been so many times that I get random deals at different hotels, this time Hooters gave me a sweet deal. My favorite place to stay is still the Mirage or Venetian. So long as you're on the strip, you should be good. and rooms can be soooo cheap! Slimby - Yay for spin class! I've only done spin a couple of times and it killed me too! Totally not my fave workout, but definitely admire all the hardcore spinners. Stefanie - You did well at dinner! I think of the three choices you had, the cheeseburger (and only eating half of it) was your best bet. Looks like you have your schedule on track for the next few days, kinda motivating me to do the same. Karen - I need to get back in the gym for lifting too! Maybe I can squeeze that in tonight before my girlfriend comes over... Mandy - Bodyblat sounded good, kinda like the 24-lift class I used to do at 24-hour. What did you say was todays class? Kick Step? Either way, you're also pumping me up to get back into my workout schedule! So my girl is coming over later to gossip and catch up, which means wine and possibly hot tub... If I can try and get out of my office slightly early, I can probably squeeze in a quickie workout. Hoping to eat well throughout the day to allow for those various glasses of wine tonight. Wish me luck :) |

Hey ladies, just popping in to say i'm here! I went to Vegas this weekend and just got back last night. It was actually the most relaxing Vegas trip I've ever been on. We drank and gambled a bit during the day and were in bed getting tons of rest at night, what's up with that? that NEVER happens in Vegas. Luckily, I only hit 2 buffets...not too much damage. Did get to walk around a whole lot, so that's a plus. The weather is funky today, I'm looking out my office window and see nothing but clouds and gloomy skies. Hope it doesn't rain, it's supposed to be warm this weekend! Karen, Mandy - Are we on for a hike today? I have my gym bag with me :) Slimby - You sound a little down :( Hopefully you are able to get yourself back on track and get your motivation up a bit. Stefanie - Welcome back after your nice trip! I've been thinking the same about this forum, it just slowed down all of a sudden. Is it because we've all been semi-slackin'? Jodi - Welcome to our little group! Big high five on the weight loss to date. That is amazing! I'll be back to check in later...must do some work since I was out yesterday. |
