I also just discovered ricotta - to go with the season I've been eating it with pumpkin puree, honey and nutmeg - delicious! |

| Health & Support | Multivitamins that won't make me nauseous | Oct 22 2008 13:44 (UTC) |

Multi vitamins make me increadibly nauseus as well. I've solved that problem with children's chewable vitamins. It's a lower dose of fewer things, but assuming that you're relatively healthy and pay attention to your diet, that's probably a better thing anyway. Pay attention to what you need to supplement - ex: folic acid, B vitamins - whatever specific to you. |

| Take a joke for what it is and laugh about it - this is hilarious. A big problem for both campaigns is their inability to just laugh at things. Its a sad world when we have to take everything so seriously. | |||

| I worked in a backpacking store for years, and the only way to buy hiking boots is to go to a store with experienced shoe sales people and try them on. Make sure you tell them you're a beginner, they don't have to be really expensive.
Good luck, it does make a huge difference if you're feet are happy! |

| Here we have a couple good discount grocery stores - they sell food that's about to go out of date, or just did, dented cans, etc. Its hit or miss what you can find there, but if you're on that tight of a budget you should definitely see if you can find one in your area. They even have bulk dry goods like oatmeal, flour, cereal etc. especially cheap. | |||

| I'm getting married in two months as well! I'm feeling pretty good about my weight right now, but I am wearing my aunts 25 year old dress and it fits to the OUNCE now, so I have to be exactly this size. And in between now and then we have all sorts of cook-outs, festivals, etc... so this is going to be a major test of my willpower. Good luck! My newest promise to myself is no more than two drinks per event. Excess alcholol consumption leads me to excess cheeseburger consumption, dessert, etc. | |||
| Motivation | ALWAYS the Weekend Guilt Club!! | May 19 2008 17:30 (UTC) |

| Yep... I had the liquid calorie problem this Saturday as well, but since its an exception... oh well.
I intentionally let myself go guilt-free over the weekend. Monday through Friday I eat very well and exercise regularly and reward myself on the weekend for another healthy week. As always the key is moderation. Don't go crazy, but I refuse to have an anxiety filled life where I can't splurge and enjoy it. Have dessert... have an extra glass (or three... oops) of wine, and just be ready to head back to the gym on Monday. Its really your overall lifestyle... one day shouldn't make or break anything. |

| I read a lot about it the other day, because I was curious. And yes... its bad because it enhances the flavors of foods that should be consumed in moderation, and yes its bad if you have a 'sensitivity' to it. But, if you have the self-discipline to not eat the whole can of nuts (not saying that I necesarily do) and you're not one of the people who reacts physically to it, there's not any conclusive evidence that its otherwise harmful. | |||

| I think they are all delicious, but keep in mind since they're not cooked at all, you're not going to have a texture like a cookie or brownie. But as long as you don't expect them too, they're yuuummmmyyy... I like the cinamon roll. | |||

| I don't have cable at my house and I plan my gym visits around the Daily Show and Colbert Report. Otherwise I don't get to watch them.
Even if you do have TV - finding shows you like is a good way to make the time go by. |

| Health & Support | body image confusion: 5'6'' girls!!!!! | Oct 31 2007 22:32 (UTC) |

| I'm 5'6, 120-125 pounds and very happy with my body. For a long time I was very worried about what the scale said and how many calories I was consuming. Calorie count helped me get a clear picture of what I was putting in my body, but now I just eat well and excercise regularly and have settled at my healthy weight - never felt better. A couple more pounds make me feel more womanly and I have much more energy than I did when I was trying to shave off more pounds.
Its important to find what's right for you, and not try to fit into someone else's mould! |

| I actually thought the most shocking/disturbing part was about the food in school systems. I think that is a bigger problem than McDonalds...
The rest was disgusting too, and brought up important issues, it was just a little over dramatic and unrealistic for most of the people in America - sadly, I'm sure there are some people that eat close to that diet. |

| Health & Support | Anyone here get migraine headaches? | Apr 06 2007 18:25 (UTC) |

| Add me to the list of chronic migraine sufferers... I too have Maxalt, and it works for the pain, but I'm still left with the fatigue.
I've found that, if I catch a headache at the very beginning, caffeine helps keep it from becoming unbearable. I have a big strong cup of coffee, or soda if that's all that's available and a couple of ibuprofin. It doesn't work every time, but its better than heading straight for the prescription drugs. Good luck.. |

| do it do it do it!!! I was a counselor for six years (well, eventually moved to senior staff) and its the best thing I ever did. I'd still be there if it weren't for this relationship that I wasn't willing to keep leaving. Have to grow up sometime. But if you're thinking about it, go for it! It really was one of the best experiences of my life, and definitely where I learned the most - about myself and everthing else. | |||

| Weight Loss | what kind of bread do you eat? | Mar 22 2007 11:54 (UTC) |

| THe Sara Lee Delightful whole wheat is the best light wheat bread I've found. It doesn't taste like cardboard like most of them. But I've pretty much decided good whole wheat bread is not worth compromising. A few extra calories are worth it for something so much more satisfying and filling.
THe Ezekial 7 grain sprouted wheat bread is yummy and keeps me full forever. |

| I am in almost the exact same situation. I'm 26, 5'6", have always been active and healthy, etc... in the last six months I've gained about 10 pounds... I wouldn't be worried about it, but I have been 115 for the past five years and I'm not ready to start gaining weight.
Most of it is from snacking at my job, I'm a server, and I'm trying to reverse this trend before it gets away from me. I suppose I know what I need to cut out.. the extra food where I work, but its so hard when its 10pm and I'm hungry and tired. So yes... any motivating suggestions would be grrrreat... |

| At my gym there are two different elliptical machines, both allow me to enter weight, age, etc. Going about the same intensity for 45 minutes - one says I burn about 100-150 calories more than the other... so I just use the calorie count number now. | |||
