| So...I kind of fell off the wagon for a few days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). However, last night I logged the food I was going ot eat today and decided on some exercise activities I was going to do. So far today I have had breakfast and lunch (it's only 11:45, but that's okay), walked for 1 hour, elliptical for 33 minutes, and the 25 minute strengthening portion of my exercise video. Today I can have 1,325 calories and still have a 1,000 calorie deficit (if I don't do any more exercise). Oh...and I've had 7 glasses of water...and it's not even noon!!!!!
So...I'm back on the wagon with a vengence! Happy Sunday! |

| Weigh-In day -
I'm going to start with my first weigh-in day to make me feel better)
My real start was at 142, so I'm up a pound, but I'm bloated, TOM is coming, and I ate too much sodium yesterday. Go figure, right? Next week will be better. Congrats to all of you with your amazing losses. You're all doing so great! |

| There are a few places that do have nutritional info -
Olive Garden has the info for their healthy option (like 5) - but the Venetian Apricot Chicken is really good! Chili's has their full menu online as does On the Border and you can also customize your meal for Red Robin. Outback makes recommendations on how to eat healthy at their restaurants (like order without butter, etc). Overall - if you go with grilled Chicken, grilled veggies, and try to keep out the cheese and some of the sauces you'll be happier with your choices. |

Olivia - You know we're all here for you. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help bring you out of your funk. This little thread is doing a lot for so many of us!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday! |

| Hello everyone :) Happy Tuesday -
kpersons - your graph has your weight line (blue) and your trend line (green). The blue line is the actual weights that you enter. The green line shows your "trend" - meaning that when you weighed 155 on Monday but 160 on Tuesday, the trend line isn't going to jump 5 pounds, because it would be near impossible to gain 5 pounds in one day. Try to focus more on the trend line as it is likely more accurate in that it won't have the high ups and downs that the scale sometimes shows up. Amaresmom - CONGRATS!!!!! Congratulations on the loss. That is fantastic. Krrpt - thanks for the water idea. It's a small thing but I can see how it could make a big difference. I try to make myself get a water bottle out of the fridge when I first get up, because if it's next to me, I'm far more likely to drink it than if its in the fridge :) Everyone - I'm still at 142.5 no loss no gain. Could be worse! I'm hoping to have some sort of loss by Friday, but I realized I will have to do more than sit on my butt and watch tv for that to happen. I've been a bit down lately, but today I'm changing that! |

| If you were asking about the brand name of the pasta seasoning - it's actually made by Trader Joe's. Just check out a TJ's near you..it's with all the different spices, salts, etc. | |||

| This is such a great thread. It's so nice to read about everyone's days/weeks/ideas/etc. And so nice to see all of the support to and from everyone.
Well - I had a great/fun weekend, but I'm definitely retaining some water! This week my goal is to drink an extra 4 glasses of water a day, exercise everyday (M-F) and keep my calories below 1400. I really just want to get down into the 130's. Everything will seem more manageable to me once I'm there. Krrpt - Don't worry about the meal you made. We all have to LIVE a little. Pie every once in a while is a necessity! :) I wish I had some! You'll definitely meet your goals this week. Babyd - Awesome job!!!!! That is fantastic! I know not drinkign helps me *and drinking this weekend didn't help me* :) limona - great job with the loss for you too! I'm jealous - but of course totally excited for you. puppykisses (the other kim..I'm kim too) - You are right where I am headed. Great job!!!!! zochia - Yes - curse periods. It just isn't fair is it? Hopefully you'll have a nice fun loss when it's over! You are all fabulous and I am so excited to be doing this with you! Happy Monday and congrats on a great week/weekend everybody!!!! ~Kim :) |

I'm out of town tomorrow with no scale or computer - so I'm weighing in today.
Puppkisses - Thanks for the tip on yoga. Those workouts sound great. I too love yoga but can't always find time to go to my 90 minute class. I'll definitely check those out!!! SunnyMary - Congrats on your 1.5 pounds. That is AWESOME! Olivia77 - I don't know what to say - you are just fabulous. So inspiring! Immom - I used to have a really good beginning DVD. It had two workouts in it, one for in the morning and one at night. I can't think of the name right now, but I'll find it!!! - Oh...just saw kpersons post - that's the one - AM/PM yoga for beginners! zochia - Congrats on your day back on track. Sounds like it started really well! Happy Birthday Saturday!!!! Well - I'm off to Chicago for the weekend. Have a fabulous weekend everyone. Can't wait to hear about all of your amazing accomplishments on Monday! ~Kim |

| Hey Mrs_Skittles -
Sounds like things are going well for you. Congrats on losing 9 pounds. It sounds as though you've lost 9 pounds in a month instead of 8 (which would be 2 pounds a week), so I wouldn't worry. I lost 5 pounds of water and salt in my first three days! Sometimes your body just needs to detox!!! You'll notice if your body is screaming for nutrients (lethargy is a common sign) - make sure you're listening - otherwise -just keep doing what you're doing! Keep up the good work. |

| Depends a lot on the person. Calorie counting comes more naturally to some than to others. Also, remember, you don't have to weigh-in at all! I know many people that gauge all of this by the way they feel and the way their clothes fit.
Some people say it takes 2 or 3 weeks to form a habit. Once it becomes a habit it will likely feel more normal, just another part of your day. I hope it gets easier for you. I know for me, it just helps me stay focused and keeps me honest! Good luck! |

| I just joined last Friday and everyone welcomed me, so I'm sure you can join too - vixabb!
As for everyone else, I'm so interested to go back and read all of the postings so I can learn more about you all. You seem to have a really great thing going here. So - last night I was supposed to go out with a girlfriend for Happy Hour. I went to the restaraunt website and there was NO nutritional information and there wasn't anything not terrible on the menu. So, I called my friend and asked her if she had any interest in doing something else. She wanted to see a movie! I was so proud of myself for knowing I didn't want to go and trying to do something about. She is my best friend and I hang out with her weekly - so I didn't want to miss this week, but I also didn't feel like eating that way. YAY - it all worked out. Today, I get to exercise in a hotel room (travelling for work) and am going to find something healthy to eat for dinner. Sounds like you all are doing great. I'll comment on you individually when I learn more :) - I just don't want to get your names and situations wrong ;) Happy Tuesday! |

| The seasoning blend is already mixed, so it's just a matter of fixing the pasta :) -
I used to hate making pasta because I thought it took a long time - I hated waiting for water to boil :) So I started boiling the water when I was doing something else, then I throw the pasta in while still working on other things. As long as I'm busy, I tend not to notice. :) |

| Weight Loss | Confused about amount of calories | Mar 30 2008 20:46 (UTC) |

| Hi KristineLynnk -
Did you put in a goal date for your weight loss? That could be why your calories are so low. In general, you probably don't want to eat less than 1200 calories a day. Also, for weight loss you will want a deficit between your calories burned and calories consumed, of no more than 1,000. Everyone who posted before is right...figure out about how much you are burning each day and try to eat 500-1000 calories less than that each day. Good luck! |

| I can't imagine avoiding milk either. I always have skim in my cereal! I hope the article gave some reason...but I've never heard anything of the sort.
Calcium is very important!!!!! |

| I just "re-started" Slim in 6 - posted before that I did it for a couple weeks and quit. I just had my first day of RIU! WOW - I forgot what a butt-kicking routine that is!!!! Literally butt-kicking - the part on the floor BURNS!!!!! It felt so good to do it. I'm so excited to do it tomorrow! Syrah - I'm not sure what to tell you. I tend not to exercise at night, so I've never really worried about it. I personally don't like to eat before bed. I would say, if you're hugry, eat something. If you're not hungry don't. I know...not helpful...but honestly, just listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs. Good luck with your next day of SI6! |

| The important thing is that you were honest about it, you recorded it, and you're keeping with your good eating habits today! One day is not the end of the world! If it were, no one would ever be able to keep weight off!
My birthday is next month, and I'm going to a restaraunt and celebrating! We all have those days. The important thing is to keep going after them. Good luck eating well today and have fun at the gym! |

| Motivation | So Frustrated!! | Mar 30 2008 19:03 (UTC) |

| i've definitely fallen off the wagon after two or three days before too! Just remember that one bad meal, doesn't mean you can't keep doing it. Don't let yourself think that if you slipped, it's all over.
Remember, every good day counts toward something! Tell yourself you're going to stick with it for an entire week. Even if you slip during that week, pick it back up again during the next meal. After that first week, tell yourself you're going to do it for another week. Eventually, it will become slightly more second nature. Also - weigh your food if you can. I know that changed things for me DRAMATICALLY! I had no idea I was eating so many servings of cereal at a time! Good luck and remember, you are doing this for you. It is a lifestyle change, so take it slow. Learn more about your body and your habits. You'll make it work. Also - this site is super helpful! Keep reaching out to people, they will help keep you motivated! |

| I would love to lose 10 pounds in the next 6 weeks...oh how lovely that would be.
It sounds like you're doing great. If you're constantly feeling the need to have sugar, cookies, etc - it may be best just to let yourself have one (and keep yourself to one), so you don't feel like you're depriving yourself. Keep up the good work!!!!! |

| Weight Loss | Been here almost 3 months haven't loss any weight | Mar 30 2008 18:53 (UTC) |

| When I don't lose it's usually because I'm not drinking enough water and am consuming too much salt! This makes the body retain more water.
I would up your water intake, and maybe try to lower your sodium (use spices instead of salt - eat lots of whole foods). Also, try different types of exercise. Your body may have gotten used to the same routine. I hope this helps. Good luck! |

| Weight Loss | Help me out here: How do you manage hunger? | Mar 30 2008 18:49 (UTC) |

| Whenever I get cravings i try to drink a bottle of water first. It tends to make me feel full. Also, I tend to just want something to do with my mouth, so drinking water or chewing gum tend to do the trick.
If that doesn't work I go for fruit. Nice and sweet so I feel like I had something good! I also started reading a lot on weekends. When I read I don't eat and I don't get cravings when I'm busy (usually only when I'm bored). If you tend to eat a lot on the weekends, try to replace your snacking with another activity. Hope this helps! |

| Congrats! That's always so much better than the scale moving. I'd much rather look fabulous than weigh a certain number and not look fabulous. I know we tend to equate the two, but...
Again - congrats! I'm looking forward to looking in the mirror and feeling that way soon! |

| Hi, is it too late for me to join? I'd love to lose 10 pounds by May 24th.
My name is Kim, I'm almost 26, and overall I'd like to lose 20 pounds, but 10 is a fabulous start (and my clothes would start to fit again!!!!). I started at cc in 2006, got on the wagon and fell off the wagon a few too many times. Well, now I'm at my highest weight since starting at cc, so I'm as motivated as they come to whip myself into shape. I came back on Friday and am in the joyous period where you get to lose all that WATER weight!!! So, my first official weigh in will be on Monday. I'd love to join you all if you'll have me :) |

In general here's how I eat...
I'm glad what you're doing is working for you. Keep it up! |

| I really like apple pie and cherry pie. BUT LEMON is my favorite! Cinnamon Roll is really good too if you like spicy/sweet.
I actually don't like coconut, so I haven't tried that one, but overall, I haven't had one I didn't like. From all the one's I have tried they all taste reasonably like their name. |
