well you can't be all that boring if the police had to stakeout your home!!  :-D

at first i can totally see it being me rushing home like every couple of hours to make sure he/she is okay.  lol when the dog i was sitting last week started doign this strange coughing thing i freaked!  g totally grounded me but i was about ready to go to the vet er and the next day at work wanted to go home and check on him even though he was fine

who knew i was so neurotic!?!?!  can't even imagine how i'll be with kids now!  i fully blame my mother ;-)

i'm definately going with the idea of you'll know when you know in choosing the dog.  some really great ones yesterday but didn't feel like "the one"  :-D

i'm definately going for a little bit older of a dog, like 2 or so just because it will have to be alone for so long so slightly settled will be good.  but a walk before leaving to work, 9 - 10 hours at work, then walk again when i get home, alone for a little over an hour while i'm at the gym, then more bonding time.  or if no gym that day then a full afternoon evening of play and bonding :-)

there's a lot of breeds i love but honestly it's going to be whatever heitz 57 variety that fits my criteria at the humane society.  by chance it might be a purebreed, but doesn't really matter to me :-)

my requirements:

1)  gets along fine on it's own b/c i need to work to feed him/her :-)  So older dog, okay with at least 9 hours alone.

2)  gets along well with other people and animals b/c i have many friends and family that come over or i visit and eveyrone needs to get along

3)  no pseudo dogs, i.e. tiny things claiming to be dogs ;-)  okay...i'll concider a small dog, they are cute but i really don't see myself with a little dog.  medium to large i think :-)
