Hi everyone, I'm starting late, but I have a few shows coming up and HAVE to stay motivated. Name: Andrea I've lost 27 pounds and kept it off, but I need to get rid of the last ten or so. This month, I'm focusing on losing 5 lbs. As I said, I have a few shows coming up and don't want to be the whale on stage. I know my colleagues are pretty much in shape, so I refuse to stand out in the wrong way. Plus, my next gig includes a lot of dancing; I'd prefer that my costume fit well when I get there instead of me losing weight and it not fit for the last few shows. The last time that happened, I fell on stage! I'm using a combination of pole dancing (not a stripper, just love the upper body strength!) and Women's Health Belly Off Workout plus a few days a week of high intensity cardio. For nutrition, I have a combination of Weight Watchers and South Beach cookbooks. Three weeks to change! |

Bad me! I've been forgetting to log in! Well, I have five pounds to go and I'm leaving this week for a two-week excursion hiking through Southern Utah and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Height: 5'4" Beginning Weight: 169.4 Week 9: 165.4 I'm literally on the last 5 pounds for this challenge! It's been months that I haven't been able to get past 167, and it feels great to know I'm almost where I want to be! I know I'll be hiking at least 5 miles every day, but I have to remind myself that it's not a reason to overeat at night. Have a great few weeks while I'm gone! |

Well, I got back on track this week. That's good news! Just a few more to go and I'm good for the summer! Of course, that means I have to keep working out to maintain. I forgot to add my stats yesterday! I weighed myself this morning, and was not a happy camper. But, I can only blame myself, so it's back to the grind. My goal this week is to stay on track through next Monday. My problem is that my husband comes home and we enjoy each other's company and then we eat more. So glad to see that everyone's hanging in there! Right about now is when I decide that there's no point to these challenges, but this time, I'm so close that I can taste that size 8! I would have liked to have lost more, but alas Mother Nature made her visit this week! I kept off my usual 3 pound gain by drinking more water than normal. SW 169.4 (Memorial Day) CW 167.4 GW 155 (Labor Day-12.4 to go!) FGW 160 Yes, another pound! I know I'm only losing one at a time but between us, I'm cheating - a lot. To me that means that if I can do this, no one else has a good excuse! Not even my broken toe is a good excuse anymore. I'm very excited, and this week's challenge for me is to (1) clean out my pantry and fridge of the bad stuff and (2) gym at least 3 times this week, 45 minutes each time in addition to my regular pole work out. (I have dance pole at home; great for upper body workouts!) As you may have noticed, by final goal weight (FGW) is higher than my Labor Day Goal Weight. I'm not crazy, but I know that I feel and look better with just a little bit more cushion. I want to know what it feels like to be in the 150's again, but it's not for me long-term. |

SW: 169.4 CW: 168.4 GW: 155 Monday, June 1: 168.4 Hey, one pound! It's more than I thought, considering we went to a party on Saturday and out to dinner on Friday. My sprained toe still hurts, so I can't do the treadmill, but my gym has a spin machine so I'll try that today and do weights for my arms and back.

If it's not too late, I'd like to be in: Stats: 5'4", Age 28, Starting 197.4 (in 2007; Jan.2009 had me at 170), Current is 169.4. Goal is 155 by the end of this challenge. Weigh in #1: Monday, May 25: 169.4 Memorial Day weekend was too good to me! It didn't help that I sprained my toe on Friday and couldn't do much but watch TV. |

Hey everyone, I know that this challenge is winding down, but I just wanted you to know that there's another one for all of us who still need the motivation of posting online. It's not quite as cool as this one The name of it is Labor Day Weightloss Challenge - Sign up & Start June 15th-30th! and registration ends next week. So if you need another challenge to keep you going, finish up this one and sign up for that one, and I'll see you there. By the by, this was my first challenge I finished completely, and I am so grateful for the support! It sure does change what I'm thinking of eating, knowing I have to post the weight each week. I'm in, too! So's my husband, so I'll post two weights each week. We've both lost quite a lot (about 105 lbs total!) this past year and a half, but it's the last few pounds we just can't shake off. Our goal is 11 lbs each. I am 5'4", 27, and 170 lbs. My husband is 6'1" 30, and 211 lbs. WEEK 1 (June 23): Me: 170 Him: 211

Melkor and Cheball are right on...here's my two cents... Try using an exercise ball to work out your abs. There's a lot of exercises available online. My favorite is the "prayer". You pretty much roll the ball out with your elbows shoulder width apart and clasp your hands in front of you. One I still have trouble doing came from Women's Health...you find a platform about 6 inches up and start out doing a plank. Then you do a push-up and as you're going down, you lift a leg towards your elbows. Killer! Don't forget, you can do as many crunches as possible, but you also have to have good form and you have to work out your lower back. Cardio is also great for overall toning. Lastly, and my mother would be proud, is to work on your posture. Funny, but it helps keep those muscles you work so hard tight and toned all day long. So, those are my cents. Hope they help! |
