Weight Loss Does shoe size change with weight loss? Jul 28 2009

I have lost around 90 lbs and have had to tighten the straps on all of my shoes. Before at my heaviest size 9/9.5 were feeling tight, now I can wear 8.5 or 9 and no longer wide size. It really stinks because right before I started losing weight, I bought 2 pairs of dansko (really expensive) shoes and now I have to tighten the mary-jane strap to the last hole, and may be looking for a new home for them soon. But thats 90 lbs. I don't think unless you have really chubby feet would your shoe size drop that dramatically with 30 or so pounds-besides in the meantime, you want to be as comfortable as possible so that your feet feel good for exercise, so don't buy shoes small thinking that they will fit later.

Oops, Jill, I forgot to ask,
How do you log Curves Activity? Do you count it as Circuit training with some aerobic activity?

Jill
Thanks for the advise.  I have one week left before my one month weigh and measure.
I'll let you know how it goes.
I'll also start entering recipes, you are right, I guess if I have a few minutes, I should just enter a few and then it will just be a click away.
Keep me posted on your progress. You are really encouraging!

Thanks Jill,
I am determined not to give up, so I went to Curves 5 times this week, started watching my calories better, set some non food goals and I think I'm noticing a difference.  I learned my lesson though.  I should have waited a bit to weigh in.
Your post was so encouraging.  I think your loss in October was very realistic, and not too hard on your body.  I think 28 inches is a bit much in one month, unless she was extremely heavy.
I'll keep plugging along, nice to know you're out there plugging along too.
Hang in there.  Don't get discouraged about the last couple of weeks,  sounds like you are totally on top of it.  Good job!

I haven't really been watching sodium, I guess maybe I should?  I'm really bad about putting everything in the log because I make a lot of the food we eat from scratch and its a big job to type in every recipe.
Any suggestions?

Thanks Jill! For the stuff about curves.
You are right about the encouragement. Did it take you a couple weeks or a month to see a difference when you first started?  I've gone for 2 weeks and haven't lost a pound, or an inch.  Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?
I'm not giving up though I am going to change from 3 to 5 times a week and I'm re-evaluating my diet.
Thanks again.
Jeep Girl-AWSOME!! CONGRATS-we are all so proud of you, and I think you can post here always because you encourage us by losing the weight.  Thank you for posting.

Thanks for the support-already.
Congrats on the weight loss willow! Thats is so awsome. You are right about setting smaller goals along the way.  I think I'll do that.  Thanks for the info about going to the library.  I'm looking for all the info I can get.
So, I've been heavy my whole life, and although I've been on all the most popular diets since I was 7(thats when I started weight watchers the first time), I lose a little and then gain it back.  2 years ago I lost 60lbs, but I still felt overweight. I've since gained all the weight back plus 2 lbs, but now I am growing up (I'm 25) and I'm happy with who I am, plus my husband makes me feel extremely attractive.
But now, I feel the weight. My knees hurt, my back hurts, and I've got to do something that will last this time, because I want to live as long as possible and be healthy.  Please tell me your stories, of how you have succeeded.  Is there a web page or a site with weight success stories of people with a large amount of weight to lose?
