I've got access to a barbell at home (my housemate has one and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind me using his) I'm just not entirely sure how to use it. HIIT sounds good to me, I will definately give it a go! |

hang on a SECOND, for a start, plenty of threads go wildly off topic in this place, and secondly, where was this so called cyber bullying? Forgive people for being passionate, if your going to throw your unpopular opinions into the ring you'd better be prepared to defend em. It wasn't out of hand name calling really was it? It was still intelligent and impassioned discussion. I'm kind of disapointed in C-C. I'm probably not the only one. |

Damn right split :) I've been reading this thread, I'm sorry I have no thoughts to offer you lorik, it is much easier to jump on this volt lady. Coffin critter I'm with you, tolerating intolerance gets us nowhere in this world. And to whoever said it, eye for an eye is not the same. There is a huge difference in having no tolerance for cruelty, ignornace and bigotry and fighting it with the same ignorance and bigotry. Hckellick, I think people are well within their rights to tell volt she's raising her kids wrong, if she were raising them to be racists I think the reaction would be the same. I think volts really done herself no favours here, the openly gay man comes off informed, classy and incredibly tolerant, crazy ex bi (how can you CHOOSE to be bi??) christian lady...not so much. I know who I want contributing to society, raising children, being my collegue and neighbour thanks. The truth is that since homosexuality is not a choice, same as heterosexuality, and hurts no one, how can it even be a matter of opinion? Raising your children to believe that homosexuality is wrong but you should still love gay people is bizaare and confusing at best.

We have the nhs http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/aboutnhs/Pages/A bout.aspx It gets a lot of bad press in England, mostly from the tabloids and conservative newspapers that relish inspiring fear and contempt among the general population. Actually I've never felt too let down by the NHS. I don't understand how anyone wouldn't want their taxes to fund healthcare, it seems one of the most logical things for it to go towards, practically everyone is gonna need it at some stage! No ones system is perfect, but a system where the amount of healthcare you get is dependent on how much you earn or the job you have seems very very wrong to me. |

...only on C-C could a discussion about rape and shame turn into a discussion about whether or not Asians eat dog, honestly.
This story is so heartbreaking. I understand how the family can shun her in the same way I can understand why those boys raped her in the first place, ie I don't. I agree with coffin critter here, culture or no. Wrong is wrong. |

have you tried write or die? I just tried it then 818 words in like 25 mins! And I was being slow. Yeah I'm on all the blogs an weird sites n stuff I can find to try and keep myself inspired, stuff like procrastinating writers, writing prompts. But when I get bored I move onto my songs. November will be a different story though. I'm so horrendously excited about it. I think I'm going to write a sci fi novel. A bad one probably I'm not very clever :D |

Awesome! Glad I'm not alone :D Got any idea where you'll be taking yourself? I have absolutely NO idea what I'll be writing about. I'm already writing a novel (I have not gotten far) So I'll be doing that, probably in small word counts, during Nano too! Hope I don't meet anyone, I need time to write :) |

All this cat talk is makin me want to go seek out mine for a cuddle. She's a crotchety fat auld thing, and I think given half the chance she'd murder me in my sleep, so I like tp pick her up and cradle her like a baby every now and again to remind her who's boss. Can I just ask why anyone would do that to their cat? the whole cutting it's nerves thing? |

same! It's just one of those instances where you'd fight it, no matter who you were fighting. Altho pedophile or not, who lets their kids have a sleepover with a grown man without their presence? It's downright negligent! |

I don't know if you have kids pg, but would you accept a payoff from your childs abuser? Effectively prostituting your child? Is there anything in the world that would make you take a payoff from the man who abused your child? I don't know anyone who would, for any amount of money. On the other hand, we really don't know what happened. I'm not saying he WASN'T, I'm just saying we shouldn't really say he was. Innocent until proven guilty. No one could prove him guilty. I never took America to be a culture that would allow a pedophile to walk free easily. They even have Megans Law. They are tough on child abusers. |

I caught bits of this, I actually cried when his daughter spoke, which shocked me because I don't cry over dead celebrities. It's strange how people react to death. The Jade Goody thing over her was sheer torture, people were comparing her to Princess Di. This was a woman famous for pretty much nothing too. I don't see it as exploitation of him though (as OP suggested) I think people just loved him and want to celebrate his life. I would imagine he'd have loved the spectacle his memorial service was. I don't understand why it's costing you guys money though? Surely this kind of thing would be paid for by sponsorship, ticket sales etc? |

haha believe me mooni you are not alone, I think it's probably one of those love it or hate it books. Like pride and predjuduce *HAAATE* with all the passion of an English teenager. sadinplaid my favourite author is Terry Pratchett. I have to say I don't read the classics that much, and I am doubly ashamed to say that when I'm bored my fall back books are the twilight novels. They're like trashy TV in book form. |

Wuthering heights is possibly my favourite novel ever. Possibly. It's not about homelessness, why on earth did you think that? Although I'll give you that the character of Heathcliff had no REAL home. It's a love story. The first four chapters are hard. Once you get to switch to Nelly Dean teling the story it gets much more interesting. My friend can't understand why I love it so much, I guess when I first read it at 15 I indentified with the completely unlovable leads having a love story. Cathy and Heathcliff are just completely terrible examples of human beings. Cathy is manipulative, dramatic, childish and petty. And Heathcliff is just psychopathic. He strangles a puppy for christs sake. He digs up her bones to embrace them after she dies. He manipulates her daughter into marrying his son. Yet I love them, their love and passion is intense. Some of the best romantic sentiments I have ever read come from Cathy as a teenager when she's dithering between Heathcliff and Linton. Sorry Sales Pitch over, just wanted to reach out to anyone who hasn't read it and let them know it aint half bad ;) You know schnooder posted about books the other day too, maybe we should start a C-C bookclub :P |

agreed cpt bunny. it's like acessories, they're fun for everyone to enjoy regardless of weight. I actually have alot of shoes that I don't wear. Heels. they're usually cheap though so therefore uncomforatable. I tend to live barefoot or in my failsafe brown walking boots <3 or size 3 trainers with the "pride laces" as my friend calls em that i've had since I was 13. other than that though my shoe collection ranges from glittery dance heels (the comfiest heels i own) knee high, like 8inch heeled strapped buckled and laced red hooker boots, lime green heels, silver strappys, silver court style heels, pirate boots, black heels, red heels, haha a pair of lime green trainers, blue boxer boots, brown lace up heels...the list goes on. Shoes look good regardless of weight :D |
