| Hey Yellowfrog, I too fell of the calorie count wagon. I stayed true to it for about 2 months and lost about 15 pounds and then we took a road trip from Boston to FL to visit my mom for Xmas and that was the end of that!! I plan to stay dedicated to logging my foods and starting an exercise regimin that I will enjoy and stick too. I really wish I could find a few buddies on this website that I could check in with on a regular basis and be held accountable for my actions. Hahaha!! You and I seem to have a lot in common, I too have always had a bad habit of putting everyone else's needs before mine and neglecting myself, my weight and my health in the process. This is a very hard habit to break, but I am working on it. I have added you to my buddy list, hope you don't mind. Hope to hear from you soon! Maleeka |

| Hi Logette,
Thanks for the welcome. I would like to add you to my friends list if you wouldn't mind.(?) I think we might be able to help each other since we are the same age and are in a similar boat. We even seemed to make a decision to do the right thing and join around the same time. On another note, what breed of dog is that in your profile picture with you? I ask because we have a Miniature Bulldog that looked very similar to yours when he was very small. |

| Thanks for all of the great ideas. I have done lots of stretching and push ups (against the wall), lifted some weights and some crunches and squats (the best that I could). I FEEL THE BURN, so I definitely worked mu muscles!!! I feel great!! I will start physical therapy and aquatic therapy next month so I know the therapist will give me lots of safe exercises to do there and at home. I will keep everyone posted on my progress!
Thanks again, M |

| Thank you for the warm welcomes!! Pilates and Yoga are on my list to try. I had taken some yoga classes a few years ago and really enjoyed them. I think I will buy a Pilates and Yoga dvd to do at home. I don't have access to a gym right now. I have to have my car equipped with a leg foot gas pedal so i can drive again. I hope to have this done very soon. After that is done I plan to join the YMCA. Once there I plan to take some Aqua Aerobics and other low impact exercise classes. I have always really hated to exercise, but this past year I haven't been able to do anything but lay down with my leg elevated to avoid swelling. All I have been thinking about is what I would give to walk to the beach right now, or run on a treadmill. When I was physically capable of doing these things I found every little excuse not to do them; I just wanted to lay down and rest during any off time. But this past year has been the complete reversal. I am so ready to get moving, get driving, get back to work and just get back to normal.
I am going to start tomorrow morning with some wall push ups and stretches. Then I will do some ball work and some arm exercises with some 10 pounders. I sweat doing the ball work but I don't think I am getting my heart rate up high enough. Is this going to hinder my weight loss? Does anyone have any more suggestions for exercises that I can do from home? |

| I am a new here and would like to join the 100 to lose club. I have just over 100 to lose. It is truly inspiring to read how well all of you have done and continue to do. I love this website because everyone really seems to want everyone else to succeed too! A fraction of this excess weight slowly crept up on me - 40 pounds in one year! I tried (briefly) to lose the weight but failed. And now 6 years later I still have that weight plus another 60 packed on! Enough is enough. I just turned 30 and I really want to have a baby. But I want to be at a healthy weight before conceiving. This is really important to me. I have a 12 year old daughter and I feel like I have missed out on so much because of my low energy level and lack of comfort. I am tired of wearing pants in the summer becuase I am embarrassed to put on shorts. I have high cholesterol - not too bad, but I am trying to correct it with diet and exercise as I do not want to take medication for it. Since joining Calorie Count about two weeks ago I have lost 11 pounds. I feel really good about that!! I know I can keep it up. I need to add some daily exercise. I created a posting today asking for any suggestions for exercise for the disabled. I had some operations and nerve damage to my right foot and am having difficulties finding the right routine. So that's a little about me! 11 pounds in a little over two weeks is a good start...it's all uphill from here!! YAY!! Maybe this time next year I will have a little bun in the oven?!?! | |||
