Thank you so much guys. I appreciate the input.

I guess I need to just lose a few more like planned and go from there. I stopped weighing for a while and I think thats my best bet. That way I wont be tempted to keep aiming for lower and lower, thinking that's "better" and "better".

I try to talk to my boyfriend about things like this, but coming from a guy who has been trying to GAIN weight forever, and has no clue on how females think, he's not very helpful. I know I can always come here and have people understand what I'm trying to say :)

Chex mex? or chex mix? chex mix is like a snack mix with chex cereal, pretzels, etc. chex mex- idk lol

I never really was a fan of sweet potatoes, but the other day my boyfriend got a side order of it from a cracker barrel restaurant and they put caramel on top. so I guess they caught on too! haha :p

There are so many factors that could determine why she lost double what you did.... Its not fair to compare yourself to her because you are two different people! Everyone loses weight at different paces and different ways. When her weight loss slows down, you'll still be chuggin' along and will catch up to her. Thats just how it goes.

And personal trainers see it all, I guarantee they don't think twice, its their job to measure people. Trust me- it shouldn't be an embarrassment to you!

day 3 ! thats great! you know each days builds upon itself, and cutting out bingeing will definitely lead to the pounds droppin. Just keep workin @ it

Hi Guys, I want to join this. I think I need to. I lost 75 pounds in total, but I would like to lose 10 I gained back because of bingeing. No other threads or groups seem to be as friendly and active as this one so Id love to offer support and get a kick in the butt when needed :)

Weight Loss The worst ... Nov 03 2008
05:03 (UTC)

Shopping in a halloween store:

"dear, were going to be getting these costumes in 2x, and 3 x soon so they'll be plenty for you to pick from!"

I was 17 and a size 11 in juniours at that point.

&& another one, walking to the movies with a friend:

a group of teenage boys drove by and rolled down the window "hey fatasses! ever heard of weight watchers?!?!" oh that was fun.

I am on lexapro which is an anti-depressant, however I am at a low dose. Im 5' which is short, but I could be 125 and still in the healthy range.... Im more afraid of letting this continue and getting back to where I was. I feel like when I talk to my parents they're thinking about what I look like or If I've gained weight. Although they're both overweight and never once commented to me about it. My boyfriend tries SO hard to snap me out of it, but its hard because I know he loves me regardless, I was 165 when we started dating...

It just awes me how I can go through some of the most stressful times of my life, passing my nursing pre-reqs, my mother having 2 heart attacks this year, a big fall out with a close friend, etc and not binge or fall out of my good habits. But nothing has even happened very recently and I give up

Sometimes I think to myself "I need to restrict myself to 800 calories for a few days, because next week will be so hectic and I wont feel as bad If I've lost weight before then" I feel like Ill have more room for error if I've already dropped some pounds. This is besides the fact that I used to eat between 600-900 calories a day. I know that was unhealthy, and I figured this would be a good chance to start fresh at 1300 a day like i'm supposed to, which I think would eliminate bingeing also, but when I eat that much I feel as if eating far too much to lose weight, and therefore I can eat whatever I want since I wont be losing weight anyways. Does that make sense? I hope I don't sound insane, and hopefully someone has been through similar feelings. It really does take a toll on me, and my loved ones.

Hey-- Im not a big candy person myself, but when I do crave something sweet I have 2 sugar free baskin robbins hard candies. The cookies n cream one is the best and doesnt have an after-taste. They have 4 different kinds. They are approximately 10 cals each I think....

Ive heard that licorice is not so bad as far as candy goes, and you can get sugar-free ones for like 13 calories a strip.

Hope I helped =]

Motivation Bringing it Back Mar 29 2008
15:38 (UTC)
I think its only natural to let your guard down so to speak. When you reach your goal, you think oh wow I did it, now I can back to what I was doing. But eventaully it does catch up to you. If you remember that these eating changes were for a lifetime, then itll be easier to get out of that mindset. And you know what--- you know you can do it. You did it once, you can sure as heck do it again. I fell off the wagon about 5 months ago and gained 30 pounds back, but I was twice as motivated to get back on track cause I remembered how good it felt to be near my goal. Indulging is perfectly ok, you just have to find a balance that works for you. I indulge when its something special. Like a special event, or a food I cant make myself/ never get to have. Thats my general rule of thumb.  Hang in there!

I ate one of those everyday for quite a while. It always fit in my day, and I still lost weight. It was usually my only added sugar though. I switched to vitamuffins (sugar free ones) cause theyre bigger and have no sugar haha. But if im ever by a smoothie king Ill go in and buy the peanut butter ones for a change....

Weight Loss Scale Fear!! Mar 28 2008
01:58 (UTC)
I agree. I always drread getting on the scale. I do it in the morning, and I know if It doesnt say what I want itll bum me out, even if I tell myself beforehand to not get my hopes up. When I was younger I would hate the dr's solely for that reason. I asked the woman once not to tell me what it said, but she proceeded to anyways. Havent been back since! How sad is that??

Weight Loss Soda Mar 20 2008

Oh! and after 6 monthes of this, I couldnt tell the difference between diet soda/ reg. I stopped tasting the sweetners and would always freakout in restaurants ang go "Hey ray (the bf), is this diet?" and make him taste it an tell me. I do it 75% of the time and it drives him crazy. So its not a lost cause, youll get used to it
Weight Loss Soda Mar 20 2008

Honestly, before I realized how horrible they were for you, Id be drinking 10 cans of the stuff a day.. omg. lol

I COULD NOT stand diet soda. My dad switched to diet mtn dew and swore by it, but I couldnt do it. Eventually I started drinking Crystal Light lemonade, which wasnt too bad, then some diet flavored sodas. I find those are a lot better:

-Coke zero is the best in my opinion, followed by diet drpepper, then diet sprite etc. I would go for the flavored ones ( I still dislike reg diet pepsi/coke sort of)

baby steps, one reg. soda wont kill you, but if you can save the 100 cals and have a mini bag of popcorn instead... why not?

Hope I helped! =)
