I'd be careful not to burn out, but if you find it doesn't affect your swimming performance, I'd say go for it and grab some protein bars or smoothies to make up for the calories. |

I'm a Master's student and still having this problem. I've found the easiest way to avoid the junkfood problem is to say greasy foods make me feel sick or break out, and people seem to let it go. Alcohol, on the other hand, is a problem I haven't solved yet. Drink gin and tonic. "tonic down" the gin before-hand, so like add tonic to the gin so it's like half-and-half (or less), so when you mix your drinks later you are getting less than half the gin people think you have. you can also simply skip the gin altogether, and just have tonic, but seeing as gin has a distinctive smell, you may be caught be the half-sober people. |

He might just like Talia now. If you two have only had a bit of flirting, maybe he's not sure if he's interested yet. Give it time. It may work out, it may not. Just be yourself and see where it goes. |

Canadian skittles too? Noooo!! Not that I eat them often, but I've occassionally grabbed a few from a friend. Why must gelatin hide in all my yummy candy? ah well, I probably shouldn't be eating that junk anyway. |

Maybe if they use the proceeds to open free gyms around the city for youths, I could be inclined to agree? But why should diet sodas be considered better than sugar-y ones. This doesn't really seem like it will be at all effective... |

| The Lounge | What kind of books did you read as a Teen? | Jan 06 2009 02:52 (UTC) |

VC Andrews, Terry Goodkind, The first few Harry Potters, Anne Rice, some Terry Brooks (when desperate), and a lot of romance novels, mystery and catholic conspiracy books stolen off my mom's bookshelf. In my younger teen years I read basically every Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and Sweet Valley High book in existence. |

At the end of winter term last year I was working on a big project with some friends for basically an entire day when they suggested ordering pizza. At the time, I was going through a bad binge-purge-starve cycle (I'm better now) and hadn't been eating much for a few days. I'd skipped lunch so I decided to have a piece of the cheesy veggie delicious pizza. Then the binging started! I ate piece after piece without even noticing, and ended up devouring 3/4 or more of a 14" pizza in front of my classmates! I didn't even notice til one guy said "wow! Sarah, did you eat that whole pizza? Holy s***" I was mortified! Luckily my boyfriend at the time jumped in and said he'd eaten half of what I had, but I don't think everyone was convinced. |

I would probably think 'huh... I wonder what happened. Probably just waiting to get replacements.' then perhaps start sizing you up as a potential study buddy 'cause you can never have too many study buddies! Good luck and congrats for going back to school! I hope you enjoy it |

A nice evening walk. Cooking a nice dinner together - my guy and I do this sometimes, I make supper and he makes dessert. we pick out what we're going to make first, go grocery shopping together then cook and sit down to enjoy dinner together -- usually with some super nintendo or chess. |

Perhaps it's what you've been eating, not how much. If you aren't eating a lot of healthy good foods rather then you mmight not be getting the nutririon you need. |

How about a housecoat or a sweater? I got a slow cooker for Christmas and I really like it. Men seem to like them a lot since they are easy to use. I think it makes a good gift. |

They can be harmful, cost a lot, and are usually not even effective. Eating healthy and exercising will do more for you than pills ever could. You will feel healthy and energetic and you will gain a ton of self-confidence just knowing you did it. Even if the pills did work, you'd would be skinny but you wouldn't feel the other great effects. |

| The Lounge | Does anyone (particularly females) like their mother? | Nov 06 2008 04:07 (UTC) |

* How old are you? 21 * Are you a son or a daughter? daughter * How would you describe your relationship with your mother? we talk on the phone once every week or two, and its a boring civil conversation. But, when I go to visit (every month or two) we are very close. We laugh til we cry, drink til we're dizzy and gossip non-stop about everything and anything. Since I moved out 4 years ago, we become less like family (love each other cause you have to) and more like friends (love each other cause you can) * Why? She's someone I've always looked up to. She's an intelligent woman who sadly didn't get the opportunity to use that intelligence towards a career (she didn't have any way to get funding for university) and instead was about the best damn stay-at-home mom she could be. She's not that picture perfect mom you see in reality shows. We drink together and gossip and laugh. She's so positive through everything. Although she made some parenting decisions that may not have been perfect (I picked up some disordered eating behaviour that I think I can attribute to her own insecurities) I know she did her absolute best. I guess the best thing is she's always respected me, as I respect her. She treats me as an equal, and has treated me like an adult since I was 12 or so. |
