| Foods | Bagels for lunch? | May 02 2008 15:13 (UTC) |
|
| honestly, it depends where you live.
In NYC, the average PLAIN bagel is ~6-7 oz and 500 cals (i read a study). To me, thats quite a lot of cals for something that dosen't give much nutrition wise. |

| Foods | newborn FAGE lover! | May 01 2008 20:44 (UTC) |

| my advice is to actually buy the Fage 2%.
per 1 cup serving, fage 0 is 120 cals and fage 2% is 150 cals - it's only a 30 cal difference and much tastier/creamier. |

| Foods | starbucks workers, i have a question for you.. | Apr 23 2008 15:48 (UTC) |
12 |
| okay, i just checked starbucks.com and the "iced brewed coffe" is listed at 60 cals for a tall, with 15g sugar.
why is sugar added?? this is really annoying - forget about not wanting sugar, but some people can not HAVE sugar and would just assume that "iced coffe" is just plain, unsweetend black coffee over ice. |

| Foods | I just bought a $7 dollar box of Weetabix - what's the deal with cereal prices? | Apr 21 2008 04:24 (UTC) |

| looking at your name i assume you live in NYC? i'm not sure why you're surprised then.. unless you just moved here. i live in NYC also and $7 for cereal is standard price at the grocery stores.
try buying cereal at the drug stores.. cvs, rite aid, duane reade etc as its usually cheaper. |

consumption of raw milk is controversial and also outlawed in some states. supposedly the pasteurization process kills off bacteria that can make you sick. |

| Weight Loss | I'm 5'2 and want to lose 8-10 pounds!!! | Apr 04 2008 21:34 (UTC) |

| I'm 5'2, 26 (in 24 days) and weigh ~106.. i'd actually like to get down to around 102-3 but that may not happen as i'm lifting as well. it's very important for small gals to have muscle as it helps us burn more calories so make sure your fitness regime includes light weight lifting. i eat about 12-1400 cals a day.. and i'm pretty relaxed about it on the weekends.. i've lost about 2lbs the last four weeks which is expected. good luck!! | |||
| Weight Loss | Losing 2 pounds a week - unhealthy? | Apr 04 2008 20:48 (UTC) |

| hi white, we have the same height 5'2- i do cardio 4x a week but also weights which i think is key. i weigh ~106ish and and my weight is stable but i am seeing changes in my body due to the weights. the muscle is very important to keep and as such, i would advise adding it into your routine. oh, i eat 12-1400 cals a day | |||
| Fitness | small and thin yet i have cellulite... what to do? | Apr 03 2008 01:04 (UTC) |

| Thanks for the replies! i'm going to focus on eating fruits/veggies/whole foods and drink lots of water and see where it goes - i've heard the excess water can flush out the fat toxins that cause cellulited? who knows but it cant hurt.. and maybe a few more leg exercices in addition to the ones i do.
rsrs: i'm pretty small, only 5'2 (barely) and 106 lbs so yes, 12-1400 is pretty much maintaining for me.. as I'm not a teenager, i would gain weight on 1800. |

| thanks everyone! I appreciate all the replies..
I AM guilty of not drinking enough water (some days im lucky to get in 32 oz), and eating too many processed foods (lunch meat, baked chips, veggie burgers etc..) - two thing i definetly need to work hard on. i guess its just something i'm prediposed to, which, as a lot of people said MOST women are to varying degrees. anyway, thanks for the advise and i welcome anything more - has anyone seen significant improvement with exercise? ie, if i get my body fat % down (i have no idea what it is, i would guess about 18%) would that help? |

| it lessened bit by bit once i changed pill brands, and now its pretty much back to normal.
if it's a general all over thinning, i wouldn't worry about it too much as many people go through a period of "TE" in their life, which is general hair thinning due to age, stress, etc. if there are actual bald patches that you can see your scalp, you need to go see a doctor as soon as you can. |

| Correst me if I'm wrong but you are female?
Do you take birth control? or recently stopped/started/switched brands of birth control? Just a thought b/c hairloss is a side effect of birth control - i had a huge problem with this a few years ago and it was related to my pill. |

| try LIGHT ricotta cheese.. it's a bit different than cottage but texture is somewhat the same, and i actually prefer ricotta better now. The tast is more milder.
My part skim ricotta is 90 cals per serving with only 55mg of sodium. |

| this new pasta out called "Fiber gourmet" is actually pretty good. it's a high fiber/low cal pasta - 130 cals per serving (compared to 210 of regular pasta) and 18g of fiber. i've had it and i really couldn't tell the difference. check it out at fibergourmet.com p/s i'm not endorsing this product, i've just happen to have it and stating my opinion :) |

if you google "yasmin hair loss" there are a TON of online forums dedicated to this. Yes, my hair has grown back some - i've been on a different birth control pill for about a year and 1/2, however its not totally restored. |

| Insecure- i know exactually where you are coming from and how you're feeling. I've struggled with skin problems since i was 13 (i am now 25!)
i can honestly tell you it is NOT a myth, diet does affect your skin condition to an extent. the BIGGEST culprit for me is dairy. I've been making a big effort this year to eat healthier and i see an improvement in my skin's condition. less breakouts, less oily, etc. i would suggest cutting out ALL dairy from your diet for two weeks and see what happens. i know it's hard but dairy has been proven to worsen acne in some and the only way to find out if you're one of them is to eliminate it. good luck!! |
