Hey!  I just got a set of weights with bar for $33 on sale at Target.  i don't know if they'll have any around you now, but I got them about 3 weeks ago.  I'd check that out first. 

Maybe what you want to do is join a gym and attend a few bodypump classes.  That will help you determine if you like strength training and what kind of weights you need or like to use.  There are some aerobics/fit and tone classes that provides strength training using all sorts of weights dumb bells, reisistance band, body bars, etc.  hope that helps.

I dont have the video, but I take classes at my fitness center and its great.  she changes the routine on us every 6 weeks.  So we get the basic punch, jabs, knee but different choreography and everytime I come out of the class sweatin and happy i attended the class. 

I like turbo kick because the moves and speed of the hits and kicks are more realistic to do so that you don't strain your joints. 

Maybe you want to check out local fitness center to see if they offer any classes for you to try out :)

Hey Dulgo83!  I"m still in!  Over mother's day weekend and may I add the week leading to the weekend I ate a lot.  I tried very hard to exercise off the food that I over ate but managed to gain my 5lbs.  Its Wednesday,... and I have to say,.. I"ve already burned off all the extra weight. 

I have exactly 19 more days til I get on my Suncountry Flight into Orlando, FL!  So,... thats about two weeks. 

I"m not budging from my start date, but I definately can say,... that my clothes feel much better!  Today I put on my black slacks,.. and they were amazingly loose on me :)

Anywho... sometimes its not always what you way, but how you look!  I'll keep all of you updated!

A trick is to look up at the ceiling this should help you with not straining your neck.  I put my hand behind my head for support, but you dont interlock your fingers and your fingers are barely there.  Remember to focus on letting your abs do the work, not your neck nor your head ;)

Last week was pretty good for me.  I ran 15 miles, 3 hours of weights, plus more hours on other cardio workouts.  As far as eating went, it went okay except for Saturday, but I think I managed to off set it with a nite of partying....(sober :)  

YES!  THATS RIGHT!  I partyed sobber!  It was fun and I was being  cost effective for both my pocket and cc! 

This week, might be a bit of challenge, There's this funny thing going on with my ankle, and I'm trying to rest a day or so in between 5 mi runs, but I'd hate it to act up on me.  Anywho... I'm telling people that I'm laying off the booze til my Florida trip cuz I want to do 5miles within 40mins!  EEEEeee!  Idk , if that will be possible, but I believe that with the right kind of formula anything is possible!

oooOOOoo Mee!  I'm in!!!  Targeted place: Florida targeted weight loss: 10lbs

My weakness is the weekend splurge/control!!!  So, if I can keep that under control, it shouldn't be too hard with dropping lbs. 

Plus, I'm trying this new thing out where I'd like my daily % of protein to be around the 40%, fat around 30%, and carbs around 30% or less.  Always a great thing to be mindful of keeping my fiber intake above 21 grams, and sodium below 2500mg!

I agree with dreaasha.  But if you should decide differ, go with a vegtable stir fry instead.  Thats a lot better than the lo mein.  Tell them to go lite on the sauce!!!  Good luck!

I don't take diet pills anymore, and I feel that they were a waste of money.  Plus if you're trying to regulate what you eat, it gets really complex with diet pills.  But here was my experience on diet pills:

Trimspa.  I found it to be useful if you're exercise within 30 mins of using it.  The affect of it helps optimize your exercise capacity.  It recommends you taking the pill three times a day.  I felt that it was only useful if you're going to be exercising other wise it screws up with your eating habits and sometimes gives you the shaking hand affect!!!

Hydroxycut.  I took it and felt like it was a complete waste of time, my friend on the other hand says that it helped her burn double the calories.

***in both cases, I never finished the bottles... so that was a waste of $100

Counting Calories: Perfect and its very cost effective as well :)

I started noticing when people kept giving me compliments. 

One day I was over my brother's house, he looked at me and asked if I had lipo suction done?!?!?!?!  lol :)

I said "...thank you, but no...I worked really hard to get where I am now."

I think what IT (gas) does is, it moves things along.  So going when you need to and not holding it in, could help.  Also, I've found that when I drink plenty of water, its not as active. 

Oh, and one more thing, if you pay attention to the kind of food you eat, you'll notice that certain foods (like the greasy kind) probably upsets your stomach more than anything. 

Other than that there is always frebreeze ;>

My staples are:

egg white, mustard green, and cabbage with hot pepper

fun warm comfort food:  oatmeal with a little sugar

crunchy food to trick your mind: almonds, apples, cucumbers, peper bells, and carrots >*_*<

I would have to say, taking a few days to a week is not a bad idea.  I was doing 2 hours workout 5 to 6 days out of the week for three months straight, and took a break cause I had to go on a conference.  When I got back it was a bit hard for me to get right back on track with exercising.  But i realize that the days off working out definately allowed my body to shed off the weight, and people noticed right away when I they see me that I"ve lost weight. 

So,... I say its a do especially if you workout a lot!

OooooOOoo I like that Dhelman, --nothing tastes as good as thin and sexy--!!!  In addition to the great advices above, this is what usually runs through my head while deciding from the menu:

  1. If you don't know the total cals or whats in it don't choose it
  2. Grilled, broiled, steam is in the safezone but make sure they don't add butter or extra oil!!!
  3. Avoid all deep fried dishes, including appetizers!!!!
  4. Avoid the bread so you can eat more of the main dish instead (extra 100 cals of good food)
  5. Alcholic beverages should consist of two ingredient dt something and a shot of your favorite ___ (vodka for me :P )
Sometimes people go the salad route, its good but remeber not to loadup on the dressing.  If you do that, might as well ordered a steak.  Best of luck to you!!!

I'm from Minnesota, was there last spring.  A fabulous place to eat, ambiance is spectacular with the differrent room theme.  Make sure you get your server to show you all of their rooms, especially the $400 bird cage table!  Hmm... for food wise, when i was there i had their clam in curry sauce (for got the name) which was pretty delicious and they didn't go over on the coconut either.  We also had the pu pu platter for appetizer, thats not a very healthy dish but very fullfilling :) You can't go wrong with any dishes.  You could look on their menu for a better idea.  I would go with seafood and steamed dishes.  Have a wonderful time!...
