I'm 5'4". And I'm definitely planning on eating before I go. I'm probably actually going to tell them something like 115ish so they don't turn me away. Hopefully nothing bad will come of it. |

| The thing is, back when i was eating a bazillion calories a day and not exercising, I was maintaining my weight. So you'd think that by cutting, I'd lose weight. Does not eating enough calories keep you at a plateau too? I can't actually cut anymore calories without going too low. |

| Thanks for the tips! :) I was starting to think that something was wrong with me since I'm basically hungry all the time. I'm a college freshman and I'm seriously struggling not to gain weight since I have a meal plan and I feel bad not using it. So far my weight is just fluctuating back and forth. It helps that the gym is only 5 min away. |

| Good luck!! One chocolate kiss isn't going to ruin it. As long as you keep going. :) And if the commercials make it to tempting, you could just try avoiding the TV, or at least when commercials come on. |

| Weight Loss | Burning more calories when cold?! | Feb 09 2007 20:59 (UTC) |

| This is weird because I heard something kind of contradictory. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that when it's cold, your body tries to store more fat to keep you warm (like how in the winters some animals get really fat) and your metabolism actually slows. | |||

| Foods | Chinese food that is low cal??? | Jan 07 2007 04:16 (UTC) |

| Yea I agree with isusiubeste. I ate Chinese food for years and never gained a pound and that was because I only ate homemade stuff. They don't usually take that long to prepare (probably the amount of time you wait for your food at restaurants anyway) and are really good for you. Actually, the most fattening thing we eat is the rice! | |||

| My roommate bought me the most ridiculously big box of gummy bears/worms/etc that I've ever seen. I don't even know what to do with myself. It's annoying, but sometimes you just have to stick to your resolve. Feel superior that you have more control and are healthier! |

| Ooh I have a box of those evil things that my mother sent me. I put them in a drawer hidden under a coat that I don't wear anymore. And I completely forget about them. They've been sitting there for 5 months and I've only had 2. | |||

| Almost the same thing happened to me!! I don't think I'm eating more than I was before (I'm still keeping track on this site)... I'm really hoping it's sodium weight because I haven't been drinking that much water. I hope you're able to lose the extra weight too! :) | |||

| Foods | Snacks for a long flight? | Dec 18 2006 02:37 (UTC) |

| I have been on that flight! (And longer too because my flight transfered at Tokyo and then I had another 2 hours). I actually think it's okay to bring fruits and vegetables on board as long as you eat before you leave. In other words, you can't walk into Japan with the food but you can eat it on the plane. At least that's what they always tell me. I usually just eat the plane food because I figure 2-3 meals isn't going to kill me and the I've never had a bad experience with it, but that's just me. The plane meals usually come with salad/fruit and bread or something so you can always just eat that. Speaking of which, things high in fiber and carbs like pretzels always fill me up and you can always get some at the airport. And what about nuts? I'm not sure about their calorie content but don't protein foods keep you full longer? |

| Recipes | What makes Chinese Food | Dec 17 2006 19:52 (UTC) |

I grew up in a chinese household and we mostly use soy sauce and salt. ... but in moderation. I can't stand stuff that's too salty. We use garlic occasionally for flavoring, but I hate it so I never actually eat it. Erm... I have never thought about yin and yang and no one in my family does either that I know of. I learned most of my cooking from my mother and my grandmothers. :) Idk... I think my taste might be different though. Are you trying to achieve the taste that Chinese restaurant food has? Because all of that has been 'Americanized' and authentic Chinese food tastes nothing like it. |

| Try not to binge eat. :) When I'm on vacation, I'm usually pretty active... sightseeing and such and sometimes I forget to eat. So I wouldn't be too worried. If it really bothers you, you can always right down everything you eat to make sure you aren't eating more than you think. | |||

| Weight Loss | Bedtime snack- fruits or oatmeal? | Dec 14 2006 17:26 (UTC) |

| I always have fruit before I go to bed! Not right before, maybe an hour or so beforehand. It's really filling so it keeps me from craving something around bedtime and just from being hungry in general because it's so hard to sleep when you're hungry. | |||

| I have been anorexic and sometimes I still struggle with it. It's a really miserable feeling and I really wish I could be one of those people who never had to worry about this. It's usually doesn't even have anything to do with weight. Most of the time it's a control issue, along with anxiety and depression. So, please don't hate me or try to be this. | |||
| Weight Loss | Only planning to maintain through the holidays? | Dec 13 2006 23:12 (UTC) |

| I plan on increasing my exercise schedule during the holidays to make up for it. And then just watching what I eat during the parties. I'm not planning on going to nearly as many Christmas parties, but I usually eat a lot at them... I guess I'll just have to restrain myself. | |||

| Maybe it's something you're eating them with? When I mix certain foods I get stomach aches. But if they're really bad, then you might want to just avoid eating them. There are lots of delicious fruits out there that are just as good for you! I get stomach cramps from eating yogurt, which is also really good and really good for you, but I just have to limit my consumption of it. |
