Would love to see some team stats updated for progress....I have the feeling this is getting pretty close and, by the looks of it, we all could use some extra motivation!

 i agree 100%!!

same with me jachid, but hey, at least we're still running :)))  i'm up two lbs this week and happy that it's not more since camping does a number on ya.  apparently three days without internet access will completely make you forget how to keep track of what you put into your mouth lol!  either way it's a nice shock to the system so i'm hoping this week my metabolism will be in overdrive *fingers crossed*

hope everyone else is doing great!!

hello everyone!  glad to see the thread is getting some love lol  my weekend was alright, i attended a baby shower on saturday (where the goodies were all over the place), and i managed to jump back on the bandwagon come sunday.  we are having quite the cool summer in the toronto area, which isn't horrible i must say (better than the humid smoggy stickiness we're used to) but at least it all points to an indian summer, which i'm all in favour for!

thanks to whoever updated the weightlog thingie on our thread, i dunno what's going on with the main one.  we all did so well!  GO BLUE!!!

p.s.  Lisa-as gymcoach said it, don't forget tomorrow is another day, we're here for any encouragement you may need!  you can do this :)))

Health & Support Am I taking in too less calories? Jul 08 2009

oh i apologize, i could've sworn the question stated was plain and simple (too much calories, too little, or in the middle) and all i did was state a fact.  this kid is young and being male, will most likely still grow so taking in less calories than a grown average size, sedentary woman seems a little absurd.  sorry if i offended anyone

How is this helpful?

it's called tough love, and from what i see, not enough children are getting it these days.....perfectly healthy 14 year olds wanting to lose pounds?????  all she has to do is stay as active as she is for future success, but worrying about calories should not be part of her growing up.  did you have a life as a tween?

Tall ladies!! There are always so many of these threads, everyone is so proud haha.

I don't have a problem so much with my body image as just my height! I hate being taller then everyone! I refuse to wear heels. I also can't stand how hard it is to buy clothes.. I need long pants and shirts are always too short. Plus I have big boobs but a pretty small frame. Shirts are impossible too!!

ugh! One of these day tall women need to start making more clothes, theres not enough out there!

I am just trying to lose the last few pounds. I am 6' and my current weight is 147, goal of 140. I have a super small frame (except my hips which are giant!) so even at 147 I still have those dang love handles I can't seem to get rid of! Anyone else feel like those things will just never go away?!

 yeah.....me!  :))))

hi, inacio!  you look great in your pics, and really shouldn't worry about feeling 'fat' since you're not even close to that.....how tall are you anyway??  i've also set 140lbs as my goal weight, since i've been down to 150 before and still felt i could get rid of 10 more to feel 'jiggle-free' (not sure if that was all in my head or not, 'cause my friends and family at that point were getting concerned about how much i've already lost), but i've got a small frame too and been told that i would still be in a healthy range......and you do NOT have a chubby face, woman!!!

and YES jumprope is one of the best cardio workouts one can do, plus it makes you feel like a kid again.....a really really big, sweaty kid lol

good on ya!  running is the best way to get rid of excess pounds as long as you take the proper precautions....sounds like you're well on your way!!  all i gotta say is never EVER underestimate a good pair of running shoes, don't be afraid to invest a few more bucks....they'll save you from endless running injuries

oh, dear. the drunk food. the unusally greasy food that your body craves to soak up whatever poison you chose for the night. Don't worry. I do the same thing. Just.. Try next time (if you can remember) don't go to places with greasy food like mcdonalds, or go home and make your own fries that won't be literally dipped in grease. And eat bread! That'll soak it all up just as good. :)

 um.....don't drink and fry....

on another note, anyone who's on this site is probably taking good care of themselves overall (i.e. not drinking on a daily or weekly basis....should know better by now, right?), therefore a drunk binge here and there is just that....as long as you don't form it into a habit it's all part of letting go and having some uncontrolled fun.....we still need that, people!  let's not become obsessed here

all the best!

hey hey everyone!!  glad to see the regulars are still hanging around :)  my congratulations to kirsten, brett, jstone, amayou among others for keeping positive and for the progress everyone has made!

i've been "outta commission" with checking in (sorry brett, looks like you're very concerned for the well-being of this group, lol), practically been a lab rat for the last month or so, had a physical (blood work/x-rays/CT scans/paps and so on...) plus got my wisdom teeth pulled a week and a half ago, but it's all for my own peace of mind that i'm taking my body in the right direction with all this exercising and diet changing phenomenon, tried to keep up my gym attendance as much as possible during those times, so i've pretty much been in maintenance mode (VERY happy about that!!)

don't remember what my last posted weight was, so let's just start fresh, shall we?

this week:  158 lbs

now i'm about a week into training for a 5K i've got coming up in july, already ran my two 2 mile runs this week, awaiting a long run on sunday......my thighs are killing my already!!!  i hope i can do this *fingers crossed*

hope to hear from everyone!  good luck!!

no problem....'somewhat healthy' is pretty funny to me when talking about restaurant dishes, but there are definitely ways to make each one a bit better (except our portions tend to be ridiculously massive, so way to go for only digging into half!).....my personal fave is the chicken tenders salad but with grilled chicken instead, no bacon or croutons, and olive oil instead of dressing (no cheesy toast for me either lol).....there's also the grilled veggie sandwich, the burgers are yummy also but nix the mayo, cheese and bacon.....or just go for half the louisiana bbq chicken with some plain steamed veggies.....BUT i have a strong disagreement with making all these restrictions when going out with some friends and paying a **** of dollars for simple food you could've made at home.....if you go out once in a while, ya gotta treat yourself, right?

LOL....i work there, that thing is HUUUUUGEEEE!  by judging the ingredients that i see them put into that monster, here's my breakdown:

mixed greens (around 3 cups): 100 cals

shaved chicken breast (4 oz): 215 cals

oriental noodles (1 oz): 80 cals

soy pineapple dressing (2 oz if served on the side, they waaaay overpour when freehanding):  150-250 cals

thai peanut dressing (2 oz): 200-300 cals

TOTAL:  745-945 cals WITHOUT the tiny side garlic cheese toast :)  that little slice alone will add another 200
