Oh guys I do agree that exercise is VERY important.  It was critical to me being where I am right now.  But I've had a rough go of it lately and it's been very hard for me to stay on track!  Thanks again ladies.

    I needed this boost.  You do not have any idea how much I needed your words, and someone else going through this!!  Thank you so much!  You are definitely right about sticking to healthy habits.  That's critical while trying to stay trim without exercise.  It's also comforting to read this from you, since you are suffering from insomnia as well.  Thank you so much!!

I'll join if you'll have me.  I vascilate back and forth between 129-133!  I need motivation keeping on board.  I have lost over 37 lbs and kept it off for two years now.  But lately I'm finding it hard to make it into the gym!

HEY LADY...yeah i don't know where everyone is gone.  You may want to open the group back up to people so we can get some more active members.

 

I have been consistent at the gym this week.  I am like 130.4 or something like that.  A little heavier than usual because i was retaining weight due to the stomach virus.

 

U ARE DOING A GREAT JOB getting to the gym tonight.  What is the weight loss challenge?

Diva,

    I treat myself to a qpc (actually a qp as I hate the cheese) about every couple of weeks with fries.  It had yet to do damage as I SERIOUSLY work out.  1200 is hard to eat, but try raising it to 1300.  I lost a lot of weight doing 1300 on days when I didn't exercise or 1500-1600 on days when I did.  Your mileage may vary, b/c you may not be as muscular as me.  I'm sorry I can't help more but I don't have one of those body sale thingies.

DIVA, you will get it together.

 

It hasn't been any easier for me to get to the gym.  It is really COLD in the mornings, and it has been raining / freezing rain the past week.  the only day that has been sunny this week has been today, so HURRAY :)  And I made the most of it and made it to the gym again today.  When I go to the gym I feel better all around, so I just have to keep pressing on and making that sacrafice.

 

I remember you fasting last year diva!  You'll do great girlie, you always do.  Be careful with the exercise though, because if you aren't eating, you don't want to make yourself sick/dehydrated.

I have been able to maintain over vacations.  I maintained over, of all things a cruise.  I did it by exercise an hour or two every morning early, before my husband got up.  Keep in mind we were on vacation so that meant getting up at 9:00 AM while he slept until 11 lol.

 

HOWEVER, we are going away to north carolina for our anniversary in 3 months, and we are planning on renting bikes, and biking every morning for exercise.

heeeyy diva, same here.  It is really hard getting back in the routine when on the daily basis you can get up as late as you want and then go exercise.  to top it off I had the stomach flu for the past few days, so the only day I've gotten up early is this past friday, and this morning, to hit the exercise gym.

It is hard when it is dark, cold, dreary, and rainy and no one else is up.  However after getting in my 30 minutes of cardio I felt energized and ready to start the day.  THOUGH I MUST ADMIT THAT I am feeling unusually hungry but that is probably because I am just getting over the virus.

 

How's it going with you girlie?

Yes, it is sad to see those who struggled so hard let it all go.  But you know what, your last paragraph says it all.  MAKING YOU a priority....YOU AND YOUR fitness, because as you said, if you aren't in good order, you'll be in no shape to help anyone else.

Yeah Diva, I am here....funny I came in here at the same time you did!!   Or nearly, I mean on Thursday.  Sorry I was mia last week, but so sick with anemia.  I didn't make it to the gym not one day except friday :(  But THIS WEEK, I AM 4-FOR-FOUR, made in in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Unfortuantely for me, the scale is logging a gain of like 2 lbs putting me up to 130.

 

IT WAS VERY HARD GETTING UP THESE LAST 4 MORNINGS as a result of sleeping in for the past week, due to illness!  It is VERY HARD TO KEEP motivated to get up in the morning, give it your all and sweat it out!  Sometimes I just need to hear a kind word (you look great), or feel my husand squeeze my waist as he so often does now and say (you're so tiny Michele) to keep me encouraged.....BECAUSE IT IS SO HARD, SO HARD, SO HARD to keep getting up @ 6:15 every morning to walk, especially when it is cold and you don't want to leave your sunggly bed!

 

BUT I CAN'T GIVE UP ON IT, CAN'T BACK OUT ON IT, BECAUSE THIS IS HOW I LOST SOOOO MUCH WEIGHT TO BEGIN WITH....

 

Not just the calories, but the exercise...so I need to press on.

hahhahah I hear you about the difficulties of going to bed at a decent hour.  I need to do this myself, as I hate when I am tired on the treadmil.  you are struggling to get out of the 150's and I'm strugglign not to LOOSE WEIGHT.  I lost another pound bringing me down to 128.  I don't want to loose any more weight, I'm happy with sixes!  So once you do get to your goal weight diva you will find yourself struggling not to lose. 

 

I also understand where you are at with comfort food.  I had a rough day at work and just really wanted to tuck into a large pizza LOL.  So I get exactly what you are saying with this as well.

 

I am still here to support you lady.

I am well.  The scale said 131 this morning, but I know it's just the leftovers from my monthly cycle...also I ate poorly last week because my cycle kept me hungry & tired.

Shanfood, It is so awesome that you even run though.  I am still trying to run.  I know it would be good for me, but my knee always winds up hurting.

 

DIVA, I'm sure you are alright, what you had doesn't sound all that bad at all LOL.  I didn't make it to the gym this morning, and doesn't look like I will make it this evening either.  Shame on me.  I am also starting on my cycle :(  so I expect my poundage to go up.  I won't probably make it to the gym early tomorrow either as I have to shuttle my husband end to mr. tire :(

I don't think we could make it this far without eachother either DIVA!!!  I got back on my wagon later last week, ate totally healthily....accidentally lost another pound, and am down to 128.  HOWEVER, this mornign I'm 129 again and I'm happy.  Don't wanna be too far behind 130!  That's the ideal weight for me in my mind.

 

BUT YEAH, I had to get strict on myself again!!  I feel so much better when I don't eat out all the time, and when I eat well.  And tricking yourself thinking you aren't doing damage because you did exercise can be just as bad as not exercising.  I gotta keep thinking to myself that I just bought a couple of thousand dollars worth of designer clothes to celebrate this new body, gave away a ton of my big clothes, and if I don't keep this body, I will have to buy all new bigger clothes, egg on my face, and loose all the cute polo clothes that I have lol.

And I feel better than ever too.  Falling off the wagon is OK every now and then.  We just gotta always be sure we get back up on it.

 

I've gained one or two pounds over again since I've been on this journey, over indulging, but I'm always able to take them right back off again doing what I know I should.

 

I know you can do it too :)

Shanfood, honestly, there is nothing I'd rather do.  We can all stay on this wagon together!!  Do not even worry about it.  We had an especially good year, so our work group went out to lunch.  BELIVE ME WHEN I SAY, I overdid it big time.  I decided to log later.  I know I ate 2,000 cals easily.  Not good since I probably only burned 1800 that day.  But I'm eating super light today, and logging everything.  Yesterday morning I was 129.8, now I"m back up to 131, but I know it's mainly weight gained from the food.  We just gotta keep struggling, keep logging (I only log now when I know i went off the wagon to keep myself aware).  Keep weighing, and ALWAYS exercise when we can.

 

WE CAN ALL DO THIS...you all can loose what you want.....and I can maintain :)  It all lies with us! :)

Diva, I am glad to do it.  I can't count how many times you guys have encouraged me.

 

Don't forget about your size 10 vicky secret jeans, but also, enjoy your weekend WITH YOUR HUSBAND, and don't punish yourself.  Bringing your gym clothes is a good idea.  Just 30 minutes a day will likely undo any splurging damage that you do.  Again if you go to far, just be extra vigilant that next week :)

Diva, sorry to hear about your grandfather!!!   I'm very sorry!  I only have one living grandparent left.  I know how much it hurts.  One was taken away when I was a teen, the other when I was in my early twenties (I don't know my other grandfather).  Nonetheless, please take care of you now. It's more than OK not to worry about your weight at a time like this, say maybe like a week, and get back on track later.  Please, please, please know that you are in my prayers.  I'm so sorry for your loss.

 

I had a weekend of hedonism that I feel guilty sharing in light of your news.  I ate too much, and I spent too much, but I got on that scale, and I was 129.8, and I still have some money LOL.....and am not in debt so its all good.  Getting new furniture, etc. for the house delivered in a few weeks.  Bought new running shoes, all kinds of CD's some yummy clothes from levi and ralph lauren, to keep me motivated...they were all 6's, except the levis, which had to be 8's to accomodate my butt (I could get into some  levis that were 5's but it all depended on the cut, as I still have the sistah butt LOL.  I also have big boobs which are keeping me in mediums, when otherwise I would probably wear smalls, but hubby is not complaining).  He likes me as I am, but he keeps reminding me not to loose anymore weight lol.

 

It's hard maintaining, but I give myself a 5 lb. radius.  So really no higher than 135, and no lower than 130, otherwise I'd be crazy watching the scale, 131 one day, 133 the next, 129 the next and so on.

 

HEY THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS DIVA, but I am a work in progress, and even though i"m a 6, I could be a 4 if I worked on my flabby tummy. It had always been one of my weakest and lamest areas!  But I've come a long way from the 13's........AND SO HAVE YOU, and don't you forget it!!

DIVA, WOW, your life sounds busy.  HONDA'S are great cars, I'm glad you are passing yours onto your son.  Nothing new here.  Just got over the stomach flu with hubby.  But the prior week I was all the way up to 133 from a low of 129, so I'm not upset about that because now I'm back to 130.  I don't want to be any lighter than 130, or any heavier than 135.  I'm trying to keep my balance, which is ever so hard to do, when now people are saying, you can afford this, you can afford that, HA, that's how i wound up with this body,  carefully working to make sure i was doing the right things.  And doing the wrong thigns was how i was like 167 before.  Anyway, How is everyone doing?  I'm still normally hitting the gym every morning, but last week, because of the virus, and some kind of weird insomina that had me up all hours of the night, I couldn't get up at 6 am like I used to, to walk or jog my two miles.  I only did it once last week.  But I'm normally faithful like everyday.  I know I need to log in more.  I also incorporated the stationary bike into my workout routine.  it is great for working out the upper thighs.   My calves are all muscular and athletic, and look like someone who runs now....my thighs, not so much....so my new goal is to work on my thighs and belly.  I gotta keep these goals ahead of me to keep me motivated.  I will be talking to you all next week.

I have been away because hubby and I have moved into a bigger place.  My diet went to hades during that week, and I was nervous, got on the scale and read 135, and now I'm down to 131 this morning.

 

It was probably due to lifting all those heavy boxes and my muscles getting all torqued up in addition to the salty greasy diet I ate during this time.  I'm glad to know it all went OK though.

 

I will catch up when I can.

 

DIVA I SEE YOU HAVE BEEN MOVING TOO, OFFICES....but moving an OFFICE is less stressful than moving a household :)  I still have no excuse for not posting updates, except, MY INTERNET will not be restored until this Wednesay due to the move.

Hey diva, you are totally not alone with a ravenous appetite that time of the month.  I just finished my time.  i always gain 2 lbs with the water weight gain.  In addition during the week I must eat more to sustain myself since I am anemic, and as a result, pretty sickly that tie of the month.  it gets bad.  I called in sick on monday.  So I eat more because I'm starving and need the nutrients.  I think that's normal.  Remember we are supposed to burn 300 more calories per day on teh days when we are mensturating early.  Just eat moderately the week after (that's what I do) and you should be fine.

Diva,

 

     I love that your husband is trying the natural way to get his blood sugars in order.  My dad has had diabeties for maybe 10 or 15 years now, and he's able to keep it mostly under control by his diet.  He looks great too, even though he's thinner than I was growing up, where before he was musuclar.   And I agree diva that it helps so much when both partners are on the straight and narrow and having a healthy diet and lifestyle together.  Kudos to both of you!

Diva....don't feel bad.  I had 4 slices of thick crust papa john's on saturday, and I also had a brownie sunday.

 

BUTTTTT...I also exercised my but off on the weekend.  Got on the scale this morning at it read 131.6  No lie.......I didn't mean to loose this weight, and I'm trying to go back the other way.

 

I'm not saying this to gloat.  I'm sayign this to say, as long as your routine is in order, even if you gained a few lbs. it will be gone by mid week.  I PROMISE YOU.  take my word for it.

 

Back to the straight and narrow tonight, chicken, green beans, rice, and one slither of a hershey bar for desert!  You're doing fine I'm sure diva!

Didn't get to log in yesterday. Yesterday was 132.4. got on the treadmil this morning while conditioning my hair, so I did in fact exercise 5 days this week. 132.4 weight is an all time low, but I must be careful because I am supposed to be maintaining not loosing and I don't want to be underweight. however I must be close to finding my balance.

Diva and shan food.  i know ya'll can do it!  I didn't think I could do it before, and here I am.  Maintaining presents a new set of challenges than taking the weight off, so i hope you all will keep posting when you are in the maintenance phase so we can help eachother out.

 

The choices become more difficult to make sometimes, when there is no goal in sight for example, but by keeping focused on our goals and sticking together we can all do it.

 

Diva don't beat yourself up!  Look at how far you have come!!

     A walk around the mall can be GREEEATT exercise.  Sometimes when I'm fnished If I've been shopping long enough my calves burn LOL.  This tells me what an intense workout that must be.  I envy your running poweress.  I wanna be able to run without it hurting my knees!

Still holding it down at 133.4, or .2 I can't remember.

 

Still daily exercise.

 

And someone gave me a vigorous rough shoulder massage, a friend who was teasing.  And everytime I get to the 12:00 minutes left mark on the treadmil it aches and hurts like you would not believe.  If I press my thumb there right now I can still feel it.

 

It only hurts excrutatingly when I'm on the treadmil, or I can only feel it if I touch that area.  Any other time, like even right now I do not feel it at all!

 

BUTTTTT it tells me that my muscle is trying to heal itself while I'm on the treadmil or something b/c I don't feel the pain at any other time.

 

Bottom line, people stop roughousing petite people.  I've always been short, though not always slender, and I can't take the pain.  I didn't want to hurt her feeligns, but sheesh.

I'm feeling good about maintenance now.  AT first I was scared, but since I've been maintaining for about a month, I think I'm doign okay.  Slow and steady wins the race.  I just keep remembering how much I appreciate being to fit into the cute smaller clothes that I've bought, and more than that, how much healthier I feel.

 

That shoulder injury before would have SURELY derailed me, I might have even called in sick for work, but now I'm able to keep going.

 

Okay, let me read back through what is new with the rest of you ladies.

Shanfood I know what you mean!  I haven't experienced it related to a Master's yet, but just because I am employed as an instructional designer, and do multimedia work, people want to just ask me any old random computer question, and it is MUCHO annoying....so I can imagine that would go up X20 with a degree.  ANd yeah, when it's done it's done...masters, a few years of, ED.s and I'm out of there LOL....

To everyone else, Aunt Flo's last day in town and I didn't go workout this morning, thus I don't have friday's weighin.  I think it's okay b/c I was feeling a little sick and I was about 300 calorie's under what I thought yesterday.  I won't make a habit of it, but I only made it to the gym 3 days this week, hopefully will get a 4th one in either this evening or sunday, and I will post what I weigh at that time.

       WHat was your master's degree in?  (hah ahah I know I ended that with a prepositional phrase, but I'm lazy and it's just a forum)   IT IS SUPER HARD to work on school and life as well...I can't wait to be done and throw in the towel but I've got about two years left to go.  And after that I will take 3, 4, or 5 years off, and work on an ED.s degree in education......and then NEVER will I touch another book LOL.  I will post as often as I can even as I am maintaining.  I need you guys to help keep my sanity, because it's tough out there in the world after you have learned the things that you need to do to stay fit and healthy and people keep trying to force you into old behaviors.
