Yep, I'm just as disappointed.
I voted NDP, I liked Layton's ideals and his strong sense of values.  Harper and Dion give me the creeps.

Count me in!  That's one of my ultimate goals - to get that leg gap.  I never shared it because I was always kind of embarassed to admit it!

I noticed that my salad dressing had orange or lemon juice in mine and kind of burnt my tongue as well.

Foods "i can't eat another.." Oct 08 2008

  • Veggie burgers of any kind
  • Rice.  It's the devil.
  • Any meat except chicken
  • Dairy products
  • Portabello mushrooms
  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • CUCUMBERS

It sucks that mine tend to me healthy-ish foods.

Vegetarian Any fruit haters? Feb 29 2008

No, I think I'm plain weird.

I like fruit IN things, in moderation like my soy yogourt.  I detest strawberries!  Eww.  I think my favourite fruit would be, if I had to chose, is pineapple but even then I find it too sweet for me and I only eat it once or twice a month.  Otherwise I tend to stay clear of fruit.

I do eat local and in season fruit when I decide to do so, and I've tried many different exotic fruits.  Nothing tickels my fancy.

Maybe I'm just weird.

I'm currently 5'11 and 155lbs.  I'd like my goal to be 130lbs (I'm small framed).  I keep my calories at around 1600 per day, and I'm fairly active during my days (I do mail runs at work).  I haven't weighed myself yet as I'm doing a bi-weekly weigh-in THIS month and then every Sunday next month.

I hate the vegetarian comments I get!

People often comment on my lunch choices, a soygurt , sliced vegetables, maybe a tofu stirfry, or how I miss out on the meat choices at work events like their monthly BBQ's and opt for the veggie burgers.

"You like tofu?  It's like eating water"... uh that's... weird...

Or when they notice I eat more often then most people do but 'never seem to gain a pound' because of my portion controls, healthy choices, and calorie counting.

Vegetarian vegan ? Feb 28 2008

I became vegetarian for health reasons, and knowing that I'm helping 96 animal lives a year by not consuming them makes the choice even better!

I've never heard of anyone who had rapid weight loss, it's more of a life style change that helped them lose a bit of weight.

From what I heard here in Toronto that if you have a lower back tattoo you cannot be administered an epidural.  Of course, that is just what I heard.
Vegetarian Food Suggestions please. Feb 28 2008

There are many great vegan and vegetarian recipes to make your own 'fake' meats.  I'd recommend making them yourself seeing how I find the frozen faux meats way to over processed and high in sodium.  There are a few simple black bean burger recipies, you can use the Search function here on CC to find them!

My staples being vegetarian are:
Greener the better vegetables [any kind]
Almond milk [I tend to avoid soy milk/rice milk]
Extra-firm tofu for meal making
Spices!  You'll find spices will assist in food cooking so much easier!
Kale, kale, and more kale!

I'm 5'11 and currently 160lbs.  I was vegetarian for 3 years before reluctantly returning to meat for two years, but I'm now back and a full fledged vegetarian and hoping to become Vegan in two months time [slowly weaning off dairy].

I'm looking to lose about 30lbs, as I'm also a model and do a lot of runway shows and because I am a big 'heavier' than I really technically should and want to be.

I want to do it the healthiest way possible while being true to my vegetarian lifestyle.

My general rule[s]:

If they have more than 10 ingredients, don't buy it [unless of course, stewes with lots of different veggies, vegetarian chilles...]

If a child can't pronounce it, don't eat it.

Thank you.

I'm working hard on eating proper balanced meals 4-6 times a day and staying within my calories allowed per day.  Losing my binge weight would be great for me, but isn't my top priority as I'm trying to heal my horrible metabolism, gain proper nutrients, and FEED my body what it needs.

Thank you once again.

Today and yesterday I did really well!  I ate every 3 hours in small, healthy moderation (lots of veggies, proteins, and fruits!) and today I'm doing the same.  I got about 1500 calories yesterday and I'm working on my target of 1600 calories today.

You can buy some tastey cheese subsitutes at your local food store, including cream cheese, sour creams, mayo, butters, shortenings... the list is endless!

I just hope I'm being clear I don't want people thinking I'm looking to keep losing weight due to my eating disorder, but I do need to shed some pounds put on by my binge eating episodes.

Being healthy is definetly my first intention.  I also feel that I would like to lose the weight I gained from my binge in a healthy way as well, and therefore want to do it the correct and proper way.

I forgot to mention that for the past 6 months I've been stuck in a horrible over-eating emotional binge episode and gained almost 17lbs.  I don't want to lose any weight BEYOND the 17lbs I just put on.
The Lounge Models- What's the deal?! Feb 07 2008

Being a model, I know that some models here eat what ever they want and not gain a pound as they are always active (most are dancers, work out at the gym, or do heavy activity).  I have met a few that don't eat much and are very inactive.

Some models are born very naturally skinny and tall and they are blessed because it works out in their favour being a model, where as some people like me being 5'11 I am always weight conscious.
