Hi to you all from New Orleans! The food here is great, but I'm finding that the French Quarter overall is dirty and depressing. A couple other things I've learned: This is not a great place to run. Doing anything travel related with a baby takes forever. Not to trust anyone (we had a piece of luggage stolen our first night here that included a videa camera we'd borrowed from the church). I can't wait to get home and do some good running (only got in 3 miles this morning - Greta, I want your 8 miler!). I hope you're all doing well! Loved the wedding pictures, BTW. Beautiful! |

Taboo sex and unmentionable nicknames...? What the heck?!? Carrie, now you have to message all of us with enquiring minds. How on earth am I going to sleep tonight with all the wondering...? And why does Rennai get to know? The things I miss when I don't have time to be on here reading and posting. Sheesh. Just watch out with all the taboo sex or you too could end up not posting on CC because you're taking care of a baby. You ladies are so much fun. I wish you all lived closer!

Hi ladies! Still haven't had a chance to catch up with you all. DH keeps taking the computer to do his work and it's driving me nuts! Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Friday. I miss "chatting" with you on a more regular basis. |

Hoping I'll get back here for more later! You all have way too much time on your hands and I have some catch up reading to do! Isaac woke up at 5:00 today, then spit up everywhere after he ate... at that point it was almost 6:00 and DH told me to get up and run. Got out in the 30 degree weather and did 10 miles... Greta, I'm sending you good running vibes, okay?!? Now it's 8:45 and everyone is still sleeping! Love it! Last week I was 127.4, I think. Today I'm 126 solid. I've been 126.2 or under the past 4 days, so I think that really might be my weight. I've never been this low in my adult life! Catch you all later during nap time (hopefully!). |

Happy WCW! Once again I can't keep up with you all! Too much there. Regarding the Christmas exchange: I can just see all of us opening up our gifts and finding candy, cookies, and peanut butter and thinking, "WTF? Does she want me to get fat?!?" Greta - Hope you had a good run. I didn't make it out this morning so now I have to run Thursday-Saturday. We'll see how that goes. I'm sure your weigh in will be amazing as usual! Stacy - I hope that your knee feels better! Love the halloween picture but it was really weird looking for the person with pink hair and not finding her! Ali -Love the name confusion. I've always found when people forget my name they default to Gretchen. Because Ingrid and Gretchen sound so alike, you know? Greta and Gretchen I can totally understand though. Actually, when I read what you typed my first thought was, "Wait, how did I miss that Greta wants to be called Gretchen?" Sarah -Even if I go to bed at 10:00, I will wake up at 6:00 at the earliest (of course I'm waking up during the night to nurse the baby too). These days I'm lucky to drag my butt out of bed by 7:30, but then, we're all sick so I guess I shouldn't be too annoyed. I don't remember what I weighed last week, but I was 127.6. I guess I am solidly 127, my green and blue line on CC are now saying the same thing. The weight loss makes me happy but now I want more! Looking forward to hearing about the flavors later!

Hi Ali! Nice to meet you! This is a fantastic group of women (and yes, I am just a little biased). Sounds like your goals fit right in with the rest of ours. Welcome! I'm Ingrid. I just had a baby 12 weeks ago and have made it back down to 127 (I'm 5'6"). Not sure what my end goal is yet, as I really want to improve my running time and don't know what my optimal weight for that would be. Greta - Are the house projects done? Do you get some sanity back this week? Rennai - I love the pictures! I'm so glad that you guys got to meet up and that neither of you turned out to be creepy old men (yes, I do think about that sometimes!). Glad it was fun! Carrie - I've never read that version of the fairytale! No throwing my little guy against the wall though, never fear. Happy Monday, everyone! |

Thanks for filling me in on the color thing, Stacy. My guess would be some combo of blue and gold. I love personality things -very fun! I read your journal entry today. I'm glad that you were able to get more info from the doctor but I'm so sorry that the prognosis doesn't look very good. I hope that you'll be able to take as much time as you can to spend with your mom. People always told me that when my mom was sick, and that I wouldn't regret taking the time. Sounded so cliche, but boy is it true. I hope you all are having a good Friday! I miss the good old days when I had no problem keeping up with everyone in CC land because I worked a desk job and was always on my computer. Uh oh, I hear a baby. |

Aughhh! Slow down! I can’t keep up with you guys! Sarah – nice job on the weigh in. 5 pounds! Wow! I wish I was a swimmer but swimming is the hardest exercise for me to do, even though I took lessons and taught swimming lessons and life guarded at the end of high school/beginning of college. One of these days maybe I’ll get back into it. Maybe! Rebekkah – way to keep a good perspective even though the scale doesn’t seem to be rewarding your hard work. You’re doing much better than I would in the same situation! Hopefully you’ll be able to figure out if there’s a problem. Carrie – Your dinner sounded amazing. How was the marinade that you made? Did you serve it with pesto noodles (I’m a sucker for pesto.) Nice job staying steady at 129.5. That’s fantastic! With M&Ms and pizza too… I want that diet! Bummer with the fleas though. Greta – good to see you popping in with your big project going on. Life must be crazy over there! I can’t believe that you’re still getting your running in. Nice job. I wish we had a treadmill in the house some days, even though I loathe the things. And I second the 1000 calories a day. Isn’t even 1200 calories for a small person doing nothing? I can’t survive or stay sane netting that little! Rennai – I totally agree with what everyone else has said (and I wish I was 5’9” and not just 5’6”!). I’ve heard the same thing about 100 pounds for the first 5 feet and then 5 pounds per inch, as an average. I would worry if you did want to be 120 or 125. Yikes! I have to say, with a past eating disorder history I do sometimes worry about all of us because we’re all at a healthy weight and I’m afraid we’ll go off the deep end and lose too much weight. It’s so weird to both worry but also be glad for a group that just gets it too. Sorry for being paranoid though… Jealous that you and Rebekkah get to hand out. Someone take a picture! Hi to all the new people! Carrie – I’d love to be part of the exchange, though I’m feeling super low on creativity right now. Regarding boobs – I’m definitely in the 5 pound category (maybe 8 pound now that I’m nursing). I totally envy everyone out there with flat chests. My husband would be really sad if that ever happened though. Carrie – now you have me wanting carrot cake. Mmmmm… with cream cheese frosting. So good. Be careful with all of that baking! I don’t think I’d do well with cookies and carrot cake in the house. Danni – I can’t believe you stopped at 3 reeces. Those things are addicting! I hope that your run goes well! Okay, sorry that was all so scattered. Trying to get this done before Isaac wakes up. I’m having a rough unmotivated day over here, so it’s fun to read what everyone has to say! Oh, random… what was with all the color talk earlier? |

I was up a lot last night with a sick baby and slept in until 8:30. I got the best weigh in surprise though - 127.4! What the heck?!? Totally made my morning even though I know it's probably not my true weight and I will keep fluctuating up and down. Best way to start the day with a sick baby though. Hopefully that will keep me motivated. I've been back in the 120's 4 days in a row now, which feels awesome! Waffle cone Wednesday. Mmmmmm... Bring on the flavors, Rebekkah! |

Ha! I love all the egg beater talk. That was my dinner tonight. Actually some form of egg beaters/meat/cheese/fresh basil/veggies is my any time default meal. Rebekkah - I agree with you on the weighing in nerves. A lot of the times it seems like the scale will go up just on Wednesday to spite me. Sometimes I wonder things like whether I should drink water after a certain time because that might mess up my weigh in. Then I tell myself that I'm being ridiculous. Greta - hope the flooring project is going well. I hope that the week isn't too stressful for you. The wood floors will be worth it! Carrie - 130 is awesome! And I love all of your stories. I remember teaching piano lessons... good times! Sarah - I'm so glad that you were able to run again without pain. I hope that continues. I've never been to New York, but I can imagine that running in Central Park would be a lot of fun. Four miles is great, especially considering the injury and not running for almost a month! It just started raining tonight so I'm not sure what that means for my run tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it in! Goodnight, all! |

Nice job on the workout, Carrie! I have to say, it's worked out better for us sans tv. I'm sure both of us would get really distracted. Plus whenever we want to watch a DVD we just sit together with the laptop. Kind of cozy. Stacy- Nice weigh in! It feels so good when we get under certain numbers, doesn't it? Dani -I hope Ruby's is fun. I love fiber 1 bars, especially the carmel ones. Rebekkah -I'm sure that your weigh in and measurements will go well. You've put in a lot of hard work the past few weeks! I had an awesome run this morning! I was supposed to do my tempo run (the one I bailed on last week) tomorrow, but I felt motivated and did it today. It was hard, but I felt so proud afterwards! I did a 1.3 mile warm up, 4 miles at a 7:45 minute pace, and then a .7 mile cool down. Now I really want to make brownies but I'm sort of afraid I'll eat the whole pan. |

Checking in quickly because I have to get ready to run! Rebekkah - I live just a few miles from Jackson, so 45 minutes from Detroit and Ann Arbor. It's so pretty here! Carrie - I wish we had a tv so I could watch your duet next week. Fascinating buffet... deep fried veal? Wow!

I just wanted to stop in here this morning and say I'm so glad to have you all as "imaginary friends"! Greta (I love how I keep misspelling your name as "Great"), you were totally my motivation yesterday for my long run. I was afraid that since I had to do it in the afternoon I wouldn't get to it, but I did! 42 degrees with 24 mph gusts of wind and some rain and I did 10 miles. I told myself lots of times, "Greta loved her last 10 miler, she would be enjoying this AND pushing a stroller!" It ended up being a great run. Thanks for being my inspiration! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! |

Rebekkah - I love that Gabe did that for you. Yay for good men and fun surprises. Greta -119!!?!?! I have to echo Carrie's WTF? I'm trying so hard not to be jealous because that's totally where I would like to be right now! I'm sure you'll be fine with a rest day. Look at it as a chance for your body to rest so that you can run faster, longer, or harder on your next run. That's what I try to do and it more or less works. Stacy - Glad that yesterday was a good day for you. That's always nice when goals get met and things just feel good. Carrie - I hope that things are feeling better. I have to say, it's been almost a year since I had my last period and I do not miss that at all! Eat some chocolate chips for me and feel better! To clarify (or try to) on the eating part... I guess part of my problem is not knowing how much I need. I went to a couple of sites today and seemed to get 2300 as a ballpark figure with my activity level and then maybe throw in a few hundred for breastfeeding? I think because it's so open ended and not an exact science that I don't know what to aim for, am afraid I won't see results and then say "screw this" and then binge or eat lots of peanut butter or something else high calorie. Maybe I should just pick a number like 1800 and assume that if I eat that much I'll lose about a pound a week and try that for a few weeks? I don't know. I have a really hard time sticking with something if I don't think I'm going to get results. Margo -Come back soon! We miss you! |

Hi ladies! Sara-so glad to hear that you're able to work out. Hopefully you'll be able to get through this and back to running soon. I want a waffle cone! Or candy corn! Actually, I just made maple flavored (and maple leaf shaped) cookies that I make every fall. I'm hoping not to eat any of them and to give most of them away. So far that plan has been going well. Was 130.2 today but yesterday's eating was really bad so I'm trying to get back on track today and then am using tomorrow as my official weight. I think I'll do measurements too, as it's been a month now, I think. I keep messing up when it comes to eating and I don't know why or how I can stop it. Any ideas out there? Nice job on your weigh in, Stacy! Danni - love your motivation with the cruise bathing suit. What does it look like? DH helped me wake up this morning (I'm having the worst time getting up these days) and I got out for an 8 miler which ended up being pretty nice. Now I'm trying to get everything done on the computer while Isaac is (still) sleeping. Have a great day! |

Stacy, when in November is your birthday? Mine is December 1 and I'm also hitting the big 3-0. We can celebrate together! Carrie - I hope that you have a great run tonight. I was hoping to run but DH will be gone longer than I thought so I'm going over to the gym nearby to do PX90 with a group since they are on the cardio section today. As for babies, no, they aren't all fussy. Isaac makes lots of noises now but only starts getting fussy when he's hungry and it's been too long or when he's overly tired and trying to fall asleep. We don't swoop down on him every time he makes a noise, either, though it is fun when he makes noises like he's trying to talk to us. The fussing usually makes sense and we can sort of read what he's "saying". It would drive me nuts if he was always doing that though! Poor Lindsey. I'm having a fish day as well... I have salmon marinating in the fridge. Hope you guys have a great Friday. Carrie, get that run in! |

So annoyed! I just typed out a long response and it disappeared. Grrr... Dani, I was snickering about the undies too. I mean, come on, you don't forget and put dirty ones on, right? Ew. I hope he feels better soon, Carrie! BTW, nice weigh in this week! Oh, candy corn (or better yet, the little pumpkins made of pure artificially colored sugar). I love them but can't buy the as in days past I would buy and eat an entire bag during a binge. Stacy - so sorry to hear about bad news about your mom. Greta - We will miss you! Say hi to California and don't worry about the change of routine for a few days -you'll do great! Sara - I would have such a hard time not exercising for that long! Can you do no impact stff like swimming or water aerobics? I would probably eat 1400-1700 and vary the calories on different days. I find that 1200 is too low and restrictive for me, but I don't remember your stats either, so maybe that would work. Last week I was 130.6, today I'm 129.8. Slowly inching my way into the 120's again, I hope! |

Oh my goodness, I could totally go for a pumpkin blizzard right now! DH has a meeting at an ice cream place soon, so I'm going with him. Sara- so sorry to hear about your injury. I hope that things get back on track soon. I love how many of us run now. That's awesome! I with I was as consistent as you with weights, Carrie. I miss weights. Dani - Great job on your running and upping mileage/lowering your time. And Greta... 10.3 miles for fun? I wish you lived closer! So I did the half marathon today, the first since the beginning of May when I was just starting the 3rd trimester. I did it in 1:59 then. My best time was at the end of last August (1:43). Today I finished in 1:46, which was my time last November. I felt so good about that! For the first half especially I was hitting and average pace of 7:45 but I definitely got slower at the end! I also had to stop at a porta potty, so knock off 2 minutes there, right? All in all, I was pretty happy but I bet I'll be sore tomorrow! |

Carrie - awesome job on the 6 miler! Way to go! And without a sports bra? Oh my word... that run would not have happened for me. We had very similar breakfasts... most days I'll chop up some lunch meat throw it in a pan with some egg beaters (I don't notice a taste difference) and put some cheese on top. I love my breakfast protein (though it's probably high in sodium.)! And yes, I'm mostly from California except for between ages 2 and 8 when we moved to South Dakota. I can't believe that it will be snowing here soon. Yikes! |

Hi ladies, hope Monday is going well for you. Welcome back, Sara! I just got back recently too, after having a baby (he's 8 weeks today). Good to see you here again. Carrie, I keep trying to picture you drunk and all I can come up with is that I'd bet you're a fun drunk. Although taking out the door... not so much fun there. Good luck on that 6 miler tonight. You can do it! Greta - I hope that you make it to Costco in the right window of time. I never understood that before when friends would mention in, but now I do! I'm with all of you who didn't have the greatest weekend food-wise. Went shopping for warmer clothes on Friday and got discouraged with my body and the fact that I just felt big but also am bigger on top (love those nursing boobs) and don't fit into the same things. That spiralled into a binge that night and the rest of the weekend was just so-so in the eating department. On the running front, however, I made it to 40 miles last week, something I haven't done since I don't know when. That felt great, but I wish I could have that along with a good weekend of eating and some weight loss too. Today is an off day for exercise plus I had lunch at someone's house and we're going to dinner somewhere else so my calories are really high (or would be if I knew the exact count). Frustrating. I guess my goal today is not not binge because I'm frustrated. |

Nuvasex! I love it... Carrie you must update us on this. Carrie, you're an inch taller than me, I think (I'm only 5'6"). I was promised 5'8" by my pediatritian long ago so I'm a bit jealous of that extra inch. Well, the sun finally came out so I think I'm out of danger on the wanting-to-bake-cookies front. That would not be a good combo with staying at home, I think. But I could sure go for a waffle cone now! |

Waffle cone Wednesday? Yes! I knew I loved this group. I want anything with chocolate and peanut butter on top of mine. Stacy: Great job on your workouts! Sounds like a lot of people had good weigh ins and runs this week. I've been wanting to check in here more since you all are so active but once I get on the computer and check email, facebook, log stuff on cc, and check blogs Isaac is up from his nap and I don't make it to the forum to read or post much. I will try to be better about that! Last week's weight was 131.8. Today was 130.8. I've gotten in three runs in a row this week and I'm looking forward to my break from running tomorrow. I can't believe how cold it is in Michigan and it's only the end of September! It definitely makes getting out the door harder. Happy Wednesday, ladies! |

Hi ladies! There are so many new people here! I was part of the 120/130 club until I got pregnant last November. I topped out at 151 and am now (6 weeks post partum) back to 131-135, depending on the day. I’ve been in the 130’s for a while, but I thought I would officially come back at the 6 week point. My first goal is to get back to my pre-preg weight of 129. Then I’d like to shoot for 125 and then 120. Today’s starting stats: Weight: 131.6 (a little dehydrated) Chest: 37.5 Waist: 28 Hips: 36.5 Thighs: 21.5 I’d love to “meet you all” since I’ve checked in once or twice while pregnant but not enough to match up everyone’s names/goals/etc. I’m glad to be back! |
