Maintenance goal-is to be at a total of 1600 calories by the end of the day so I should be at 1600 after exercising.

New goal-exercise 6 times a week which includes strength and cardio.

Julie-Nannygabber-91 percent is awesome. That means you'll give it a 100 percent the next time around. Pat yourself on the back.

Update-I'm officially moving to Massachusetts at the end of August. Yay!!

supersized-good job with keeping up with the exercising for the most part. At least you worked at the eating right while working and exercising. The fact you were still within your goal reach was a great start especially with the changes in your life.

dove-combine thee exercise goals and the liquid goal seems more set then the carb goal. You can carbs that are similar to your current carbs. Or look at the "healthier" carbs and work them in slower.

meri-start slow and find a place where you are comfortable exercise. You'll find what works.

wenchie-welcome back. What about protein shakes? What kind of meats can you have? Maybe a nutritionist could help with the recommendations. Sorry, I'm no good at helping when it comes to food.

cawilder-I'm proud of you. You manage to do more than half your goal with everything that has been happening with you.

defrog-woohoo 75%. That's great. having with the baby shower.

My goals: log 1700 calories a week and workout 6x a week with a combination of weight training and cardio.

This topic: Yes, I do cardio. I do lots of it. I probably do it more than I do strength training. Although I do have enough strength training in my routine. I do cardio because it's a way to burn calories and get the heart pumping and it does what strength training can't. While strength training builds muscles and burn fat more efficiently, cardio burns fat differently then strength training. Plus its easier to fit in to my schedule then weight training. I think it's easier then strength training and just plan fun. Plus there is a lot of flexibility with cardio then there is with strength training.

super-good job with getting back on the wagon and getting things under control again.

msmeg-sorry for your lost

Thanks Julie (nannygabber).

When I say counteractions I do the opposite of what I meant. It's like balancing the positive and negative. If you say or do something negative, you look at the positive and evaluate it then aim for the positive.

I guess when I tell my self I don't want to exercise because I don't feel like. I have to ask myself why I don't feel like. Is it a good reason such as being sick or just being lazy? If I'm sick then I'm going to rest but if I'm being lazy, I just have to put on my stuff and get moving. How beneficial would it be for me to exercise versus not to exercise? How will I feel after exercising versus if I didn't at all? Just stuff like that. Weighing stuff out. Eventually when you finish weighing everything out. You make the best decision. Although you don't always make the best decision.

Congrats to Msmeg and Defrong (Denise). A year is awesome. I'm be there soon which will be cool.

Thanks Msmeg for being a great motivator.

I know when I'm slipping when I say I'm tired or start making excuses. I don't want to do things that I should. Well, I learned to do counteractions. I have weigh both sides of the situation. Eventually, I have to kick myself in the butt and get my motivation going. Other times, I have to look towards my friends for motivations.

Welcome Maria to the group.

I say bring a favorite but make it low fat or fat free if possible. Just make it as healthy as possible. There is always a healthy alternative to whatever you want to bring and most people can't tell the difference. I've been learning that a lot lately. If you talk to people who have been eating the more healthier version of things, they will often tell that can't tell the difference between the healthy stuff and the fattening stuff including myself. I can't taste the difference between whole wheat, whole grain, organic. etc. Maybe my taste buds are insensitive. As long as they don't know then they won't complain. I feel like if they people who don't generally eat healthy food know what they are eating is healthy then they reject it but if they don't know then they eat willingly.

So update on me: I officially have a Bachelor's degree Laughing. I made it. I think I'm heading to Worcester, MA in the fall. It is definite but I will find out in the next week or two. Right now, I have to find a job. I will be job searching in person on Tuesday and have to start filling out stuff on line.

Hey guys!! As you all know, I decided not to do a goal. To everyone who is on track-good work and keep up. To everyone who isn't-its okay. You can do it and the fact that you are going for the goal is something to be rewarded within itself.

Hi everyone. I'm present. My sister is my motivator which is funny cause I was once her motivator. I started this weight loss journey by myself almost two years ago. It has been a rollercoaster. Eventually she started a weight loss journey because I motivated her. I have gotten way off track but she has managed to stay on track and lose all her weight. My sister use to be my accountable buddy. She hasn't been lately. She generally sends me texts making sure I exercised for the day. I have been bad with that for a while. I'll do it then don't do it,

Thanks Defrog for the article.

Thanks Carryonandon. I'm going to school perhaps in three weeks. I don't know yet. The one school I want is waiting on my final transcript. I graduate the 21st. My final paper is due the 15th. I have to send them a transcript in between that time. Then if I get in, I only have a week to prepare to move since I would have to leave by June 3rd. Granted, I live in Baltimore and the school I want to go to is in California. Big changes, so little time. It is going to be hectic.

Constanza, the just do it attitude works great especially when you just want to get out doing things. There have been plenty of times where I'm like rolling over in bed trying to avoid exercising and I just get out bed and do it.

Salem and tix you guys need to eat more than 1300 calories a day if you are exercising and burning 300-400 calories a day. If you only at 1300 calories and burned 300-400 that puts you at deficit of 900-1000 calories. Your body is holding on and trying to conserved fat because you aren't eating enough. If you are exercising you need to eat more. Instead, you two should be eating about 1600-1700 calories a day when exercising. If you do, that you will end up with a net calorie for the day of 1300 instead of 900-1000.

Julie (Nannygabber) Thanks.

I also agree with you too. My health has never been in jeopardy but losing the weight wouldn't be bad too since I'm overweight. I would much rather be normal although there have been studies showing that sometimes being overweight is a little bit better than being normal. However, I'm also trying to look good in a bathing suit and my little black dress that's hanging over the closet.

Carryonandon congrats on graduating. I'm an undergrad and will be graduating in two weeks. Bachelors of Arts

Daily check in: This topic meant a lot today. I was really hungry because I hadn't eating since breakfast and left my snacks home. While out running errands I was still hungry. I told myself that I would stop by Einstein Bros Bagels. But with a lot of will power I managed to come home and eat a healthy lunch. I was so happy.  Could have ruined a good day with a bad meal.

To everyone who is moving good luck. I'll be moving soon too.

First, I want to say thank you to Nannygabber aka Julie for checking up on me. I appreciate it plenty.

I feel overwhelmed when I have some much going on in my life. Sometimes, I feel like I have a million and one things to do. When I do, a lot of my concerns go out of the window which isn't cool. I just got back into exercising. :)

It is hard for me to keep my motivation up during this time so I follow my just do it rule. Depending on what I want to do, I have to do something to motivate me. If I know I need to go the gym and don't want to, I put on my gym clothes. If I'm in them that means that I have to go to the gym. Plus, putting them on and not going would be pointless. If I'm doing a workout DVD, I have to put the DVD in before I get motivated to put on my clothes and get my water ready. Its just to push myself.

Do you feel like we can handle 25 people? I know you are in charge in keeping with us the most although everyone tries to keep up with everybody. I think it will be fine.

I don't have a succesful workout as of right now. Cry

In order for a workout to be successful it must first be enjoyable. If it is not enjoyable then I won't do it and it makes it harder for me to push through. Plus it causes me to lose motivation.

It has to be fun. Enjoyable and fun aren't the same thing. I can exercise and it is not always fun but it's enjoyable. I like things that are fun because these are the things I turn to when I can't do nothing else and they help keep me motivated.

I like routine. When I was working out I had a daily rountine and having a routine helps me stay on track when I need to be on track.
