| Hi all! I joined recently and have about 130-ish pounds to lose. So far I'm doing good. I'm pretty skittish about going to the gym but reading what ya'll posted has helped me look at it in a different light. Friday I am going to go sign up at one of the local gyms (no $$ before then) and am quite excited about it. I'm also starting water aerobics on Monday morning.
Thank you so much for sharing your ups and downs with everyone. It's nice to know I'm not the only one! AJ |

I'm having a hard time being slammed by work right now as well. It's been easier this year (last year I gave up around this time) because I've shared with other people in my office what I am doing. Since there is a group of us trying to change our lifestyles (eating/smoking) it's been a supportive environment. When I get frustrated I reach out to people, just like you have done *yay!*. I try to focus on just one day at a time. Every morning before I get out of bed I decide whether or not I want to keep trying to live a healthier lifestyle. So far it's been "yes!". If I try to think too far into the future or that this has to be a permanent change in my life, I get overwhelmed. One day at a time seems to work best for me :o) Feel free to drop me a line if you need to vent, commiserate or just want to say hello. Since it's my busy time at work, I am hooked to a computer most of the day... and night *sigh* AJ |

| I'm in if I can walk a portion of it! My first goal, that is fueling my weight loss and I quit smoking on the 1st, is doing a local 5k in April. This 5k challenge will also light a fire under me *Wooo!* and will help me keep on track! I printed out from couch potato to 5k but now need to buy good running shoes. Any suggestions on what to look for when a person has weak knees? I have the "go ahead" from my Dr but I have to have some good shoes... |

| Hi all! I just found this forum board while exploring around cc. I joined cc on 12/28 weighing in at a whopping 269.5 and my current weight is 264.5. According to "they" ("they" say I should weigh... "they" suggest someone my height weigh... whoever "they" is) I am supposed to be around 135 but I have to admit I would be happy around 150.
So I definately have 100+ to lose! Slowly but surely I will do it :o) AJ P.S. Water aerobics ROCK! It's about the only form of excercise I like... other than riding a bike or activities where the excercise is NOT the main focus :oP~ |

| Hi all! I just joined this site about 30 minutes ago and I definately belong in the over 200 club. As of this morning, I weigh 269.5 and I would love to weigh 150 sometime before I am too old too enjoy it. I've dieted before and lost motivation but they were usually fad diets. Now I am counting calories and treating it like my budget. I can't spend money I don't have so I can't eat calories I don't have. Sounds kind of weird but it works (so far) in my brain. I am so grateful that I found you all! AJ |
